I had been in this world for a week now, and can I just say it must have been a mistake that I was reincarnated.
After all, people who get reincarnated are usually geniuses who end up climbing the social ladder or just have extreme luck not to die of boredom.
I mean, there are no TVs here, no social media, it's so boring.
Not to mention, I got so used to not talking to people that I actually started enjoying being alone. I went from extrovert to introvert!
My grades were above average, sure, but it's not like I knew how to make this place a better kingdom. I know nothing about politics, engineering, or even farming.
So, I decided to change that I was going to become a genius.
But that plan miserably failed. So instead, I decided to just enjoy my calm life and read an entertaining book.
And it actually worked so much that Trixie tried to get me to do anything other than lie on my bed all day reading. Though she failed, eventually giving up.
In fact, I read a whole book series about animals. The first book that made me want to read the rest of the series was about things you can tell about animals based on their poop.
Don't judge me. I told Trixie to pick the book she thought I'd like most, since I was indecisive and she forced me to agree to read any book she brought me, from beginning to end.
And like they say, never judge a book by its cover... or title. I can feel you judging what happened to "we listen, and we don't judge"?
And for those of you who weren't judging you must understand what it's like to read books that sound weird to others but are actually peak.
(If you do, and you're still judging, you're a hypocrite. ¬_¬)
Okay, I lost track. Where was I?
Oh, right so as I was reading a book on stupid fun facts about animals while lying on my overly ginormous but super comfortable bed, Trixie entered with a letter.
I collected it from her as I sat up and read it.
"Dear Lady Selene,
On the 9th of this month, I shall be holding a small tea party for a few nobles in the royal garden. I hope to see you there.
– Sophia, First Princess of the Alkaios Kingdom."
I stared at Trixie. She stared back at me before I suddenly threw my book at her and ran out of my room.
I heard Trixie's voice as she said, "Catch her," so calmly it was terrifying.
The guards and servants standing in the hall tried to catch me as I dodged them.
But soon enough, I was trapped there were people on both sides of the hall as Trixie walked forward, saying, "Lady Selene, you should really start packing. The trip to the capital will take about a day and a half."
I looked around, knowing there was a low chance I'd escape, and said, "Come on, Trixie. It's an invitation I don't have to go. Just tell her I'm sick or something."
"You want me to lie to the princess?"
"Yes?"
"Lady Selene, we really should start preparing for the journey."
"Please don't make me go," I said, looking at Trixie with puppy-dog eyes.
Trixie lost her composure for a second before asking, "Lady Selene, which dress should I pack for you?"
She definitely has a heart made of stone!
I sighed before exclaiming, "You'd have to tie me up before I leave this ridiculously enormous house!" as I jumped out the open window behind me.
All the servants ran to the window looking scared only to see me hanging onto a tree branch by one arm as I turned my head towards them with a grin on my face.
Trixie still stood where she had been, an exhausted look on her face.
But as I tried to pull myself up, I wasn't able to and that's when something clicked in my mind.
THIS WASN'T THE BODY I HAD ON EARTH!!
I had continued doing a few light workouts after I stopped doing parkour, so pulling myself up wouldn't have been a problem in my other body. But this body was as skinny and weak as it could get.
I stared at Trixie, who realized what was happening, and made her way to the window, extending her hand toward me. But just as she did, my noodle arms gave out and I plummeted to my death.
As I was falling to my doom, I realized this house, mansion was super high when Trixie suddenly jumped out the window, diving after me with something in her hand.
She grabbed my hand and pulled me into a hug as she faced the ground.
We hit the ground hard.
Trixie let go of me and stood up, blood dripping from the back of her head, as she just said, "You're such a handful."
I stared at her in complete shock while she dusted off her dress, then opened the small bottle in her hand.
A purple smoke came out as she blew it toward me. I was still in shock, so my survival instincts weren't working and before I knew it, I was knocked out.
When I woke up, I was sitting in a fancy room but a little less fancy than my own.
I tried to move, but my hands and legs were tied to a chair.
The door opened, and Trixie entered with a smile on her face as she said, "Just in time, Lady Selene. The tea party is in a few hours. I'll call some maids to get you ready."
I glared at her before just deciding to give up and accept my fate. The maids got me ready and forced me into a super fancy and uncomfortable white-and-pink dress.
As we made our way to the carriage, I paused before asking, "Are your wounds healed?"
Trixie looked at me, confused, before saying, "They were just minor scratches. I'll be fine, but thank you for your concern, lady Selene."
Minor scratches?! We fell from super high up and the back of your head was bleeding!
I kept my thoughts to myself as I said, "Yeah... and I'm sorry for being reckless. You could say it was a reflex that I thought I could do what I attempted to do."
"Reflex to jump out a window?"
I chuckled nervously while she just sighed saying, "It's fine, milady. After all, it is my duty to make sure you're safe and see to your every need and order."
"Well, then I order you to take me back home."
"Of course."
"Really?!"
"Yes. After the tea party, we'll immediately return to the estate." Trixie replied with a smile on her face.
I really couldn't get out of this, could I?
