Ran pushed open the wooden door, revealing a circular chamber with an ornate summoning circle etched into the marble floor.
The same place where Rui and Kee Kee had first emerged into the Celestial Realm.
"This is where we came through," Rui whispered, recognition dawning on her face.
Kee Kee scurried ahead, sniffing at the edges of the portal design.
Ran knelt beside the summoning circle, his jade-green aura flowing from his fingertips as he traced the ancient symbols. The lines began to glow with soft luminescence.
"This will take you back to the Underworld," he explained in a clinical and detached voice.
"Step through quickly and don't look back."
Rui clutched the jade hairpin, her newly balanced energy humming beneath her skin.
"What about you? Will you get in trouble for helping us?"
Ran's hands stilled for a moment. "Nothing I can't handle."
"Thank you," Rui said softly.
