Caleb stared down at the name on the folder.
A clear look of surprise and disbelief on his face.
On the folder was a lady with short auburn hair, bright brown eyes that appeared so meek and kind.
If he didn't know better, he would've quickly assumed the person on the folder was none other than Julia.
However, there was a clear difference.
Although the two looked eerily similar, the picture on the folder was much older, and her gaze seemed to hold more wisdom and knowledge.
Something stirred inside him as he saw the woman in the photo.
Caleb felt his heartbeat increase, his muscles tense, and his eyes dilated as he looked at the image.
By the side of the image was her name, Martha Monrrow.
It was his mother. It was Caleb's mother.
And he didn't know why, but for a moment—
He felt a very familiar feeling surge through his body.
He felt a feeling of loss.
A feeling of longing and sadness.
It wasn't his mom, and he knew that these feelings weren't actually his.
