Chapter 282 - The Mighty Hulk, Physically Withstanding Six Infinity Stones

The arrival of a new question immediately piqued everyone's interest—especially the seasoned veterans of this quiz.

Everyone knew that the superheroes had traveled back in time to collect the Infinity Stones, aiming to resurrect all those killed by Thanos.

And everyone knew that, in the end, they succeeded.

After all, in the final battle, everyone who had vanished into dust because of the Snap reappeared.

But nobody knew how it was actually done.

Or who did it.

And now, this question would finally reveal that secret.

"Snap your fingers? Why fingers again?"

Tony Stark couldn't help but complain.

"Thanos needed to snap to wipe out half the universe. And now, to bring back half the planet, we still need to snap? What's so special about this action?"

Snap, snap!

As he spoke, Tony casually snapped his fingers a few times—just a light touch of two fingers.

That's it!

Why were people so obsessed with snapping?

"Stark, you're overthinking something meaningless."

Thor, unconcerned, waved it off.

"We just need to know that snapping can bring people back. Who did it? That's what matters!"

He glanced over the multiple-choice options and grinned.

"Judging by me, right? I mean, no one can casually withstand the power of the Infinity Stones."

"But the options aren't just any 'casual people,'" Tony shot back bluntly.

"Yeah! True! I admit they're all strong—but the strongest is me, right?" Thor objected stubbornly.

"First, which of them is the strongest is still up for debate," Tony replied seriously.

"Second, being the strongest isn't a requirement for snapping. No need to argue."

Doctor Strange chimed in at this point, siding with Tony:

"Thor, Stark is right. To snap, you need specific conditions. We need to analyze carefully."

Of course, everyone's knowledge was limited.

"The main requirement is a strong physical body," Captain America interjected.

"Thanos, after snapping, suffered serious backlash—even limping. That's not something an ordinary person could endure."

"And Stark," he added, "he lost his life from the backlash after snapping himself!"

"So whoever snaps must be able to endure the stone's backlash."

No one doubted that.

"Then Stark is ruled out, right? No offense, but Cap just said you couldn't handle the stones' power. You sacrificed yourself!"

Scott Lang immediately made a logical inference.

"Yes, I did die then," Tony admitted.

"But that doesn't necessarily exclude me."

Then he flipped his argument:

"Exactly the opposite! Because I snapped in the final battle, it proves that snapping is possible for me—thanks to my armor!"

Everyone agreed.

Though Tony eventually died, the nanotech armor had demonstrated its full capability.

If the armor hadn't absorbed most of the Infinity Stones' energy… Tony wouldn't even have had a chance to snap.

He'd have turned to dust instantly.

Even someone like Ronan was obliterated by a single stone.

Half-gods like Star-Lord were devastated by one stone alone.

Six Infinity Stones?

And Tony was still human.

No doubt, the nanotech armor could resist the stones' energy.

"Exactly. So, Stark, what are you saying?" Strange asked, trying to follow.

"There's a difference between being prepared and being unprepared," Tony explained.

"In the final battle, I acted on Strange's advice, snapping on the fly. But when we were fully prepared, having collected all the stones to resurrect everyone, we had plenty of prep time.

"So… maybe I developed a suit specifically designed to snap safely?"

Whoa!

Everyone went silent. That question was completely reasonable—and possible.

"Stark's right," Cap confirmed.

"We can't exclude him. It's still possible."

Option A: Stark—still undecided.

Next, they analyzed the other options.

"Hulk? He can duel Thor, nearly knocked down Surtur with one punch—he could probably handle it."

"Captain Marvel? She tanked Thanos with six stones, lifting a spaceship from space to Earth—plausible."

"Thor? Even after being pummeled by Hulk, Hela, Thanos, and Ultron, his power is undeniable. Definitely possible."

Tony continued with a long-winded explanation, and no one objected.

By everyone's knowledge, all of these candidates could potentially snap.

Except one: Thor.

Thor grumbled.

"Stark, you can analyze all you want, but do you really need to point out every time I got punched or slammed?"

Scott shrugged.

"So our preliminary conclusion: all four options are possible. We can't rule anyone out."

"Besides sheer physical strength to resist backlash, are there other criteria?" Scott asked, glancing at the veterans.

Unfortunately, even the experienced quiz veterans had extremely limited knowledge of the Infinity Stones.

Silence fell.

Everyone racked their brains, searching for any clue.

But there was nothing.

"Regarding the Infinity Stones, we actually don't know more than you," Cap admitted.

"I do recall one detail," Tony suddenly said.

"Not directly about the stones, but it might relate to the question. There's a correlation."

"What is it?" Thor asked eagerly.

"Hulk's arm!" Tony declared.

"In the final battle, Hulk's arm was bandaged!"

Instantly, the veterans' eyes lit up. They sensed something.

"Meaning Hulk's arm may have been injured from snapping?" Strange realized.

"Exactly!"

Thor nodded excitedly.

"Hulk's body is incredibly strong—bullets won't even hurt him. His healing is phenomenal. He couldn't have been injured—unless it was the Infinity Stones!"

People had long wondered how Hulk's seemingly indestructible body could have been hurt.

The Infinity Stones explained it perfectly.

"By themselves, these clues aren't conclusive—Hulk could have been injured some other way," T'Challa added cautiously.

Scott jumped in.

"Arms! Snapping definitely affects the arm—that's another clue!"

"Timing matters," Cap added.

"Hulk's arm was fine when he went to Strange for the Time Stone. The injury occurred very close to when all six stones were collected."

"Enough!" Tony said.

"These correlations aren't many, but they're enough to make a judgment. Statistically, three overlapping points is significant."

Everyone felt a surge of excitement.

Hulk's arm injury—the only known clue—was enough to analyze.

Without it, the question couldn't be solved.

"So… the answer is B," Thor declared, glancing at Strange.

"Who will submit it?"

After the second round, only Strange and Thor hadn't answered.

They decided that Strange would go.

"I choose B!"

He selected the answer on the big screen.

[Correct!]

It was indeed Hulk who snapped.

His body was so monstrously resilient that he withstood six Infinity Stones.

[Congratulations to Doctor Strange! You have received the Shadow Magic Spell!]

[Reward issued, please check!]

Strange immediately felt something added to his body—and memories.

It was the spell.

Moreover, the system randomly selected one "Shikigami" from ten Shadow Magic spells awakened by someone named Fushiguro Megumi to pair with Strange.

[Congratulations! Doctor Strange has bound the Shikigami: White Jade Dog!]

Strange immediately sensed a mysterious connection with a powerful, majestic white dog—his Shikigami.

"Strange, show us—what does this Shadow Magic do?" Thor's voice cut in.

Everyone else was watching, curious and eager.

"A 'Shadow Magic' is definitely related to shadows," T'Challa guessed.

"Correct. But I bet you can't guess its true form," Strange said mysteriously.

Then he clasped his hands together in a strange gesture.

"There's no shadow in this quiz space. But if we were outside, this gesture would cast a shadow shaped like a dog's head."

As he explained, Strange summoned his Shikigami.

A majestic white dog suddenly appeared before everyone.

"This is the White Jade Dog—my Shikigami," Strange introduced.

"This Shadow Magic allows me to summon my Shikigami!"
