Captain America had just woken up and naturally didn't recognize Iron Man at all, but his first impression of him was not very favorable.
Because this guy looked way too arrogant—not just rude in words and behavior, but arrogant deep down to the bone.
Captain America gave a suspicious glance at Nick Fury.
Nick Fury immediately began to introduce: "Captain, this is Tony Stark..."
"Playboy, billionaire, genius scientist, Tony Stark." Iron Man cut off Nick Fury and introduced himself to Captain America.
He even added at the end, "Also, one of your lifesavers."
The arrogance in Iron Man's tone was obvious, making Captain America dislike him even more. As for "lifesaver," Captain America wasn't quite sure what that meant.
But Captain America knew this one-eyed guy in front of him was the one who rescued him from the distant Arctic Ocean, so he gave another questioning look at Nick Fury.
"Stark was involved in the rescue, too," Nick Fury explained.
"Mr. Stark, thank you for everything you did for me!"
Captain America became polite now. Although he didn't like Iron Man, he seriously thanked him.
They shook hands briefly and left it at that.
"So, Stark, what brings you here?"
After the greetings, Nick Fury fixed his one-eyed glare on Iron Man and asked.
"Nothing much, just came to check on the Captain's condition, that's all." Iron Man shrugged, speaking casually.
"So that's your excuse for shamelessly invading S.H.I.E.L.D. and spying on us?" Nick Fury snapped at Iron Man.
"Fury, don't blame me—your S.H.I.E.L.D. firewalls suck!" Iron Man said without a care, acting like it was the most natural thing.
"Alright, Captain, you've greeted him, can he leave now?" Nick Fury darkened his face and bluntly gave Iron Man the boot.
"I was about to leave." Iron Man stood up but glanced meaningfully at Nick Fury and said, "You're the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. You probably don't need me to remind you, right? You know what's up, don't you?"
Captain America was confused by that sentence, but Nick Fury knew exactly what Iron Man was referring to—the future glimpsed through the quiz system.
In that future, Captain America was a key figure, so Nick Fury needed to make preemptive arrangements.
"Mind your own business, Stark!" Nick Fury retorted harshly. "I know what I need to do."
"Captain Rogers, we will meet again."
Iron Man gave Captain America one last glance, said that, and left without lingering.
[A new quiz round is starting. All participants, please prepare.]
At that moment, a synthetic electronic voice suddenly sounded.
At the same time, in the office lobby, a very familiar electronic screen appeared out of nowhere.
Nick Fury and Iron Man both perked up; months had passed, and the quiz system had finally reappeared.
Both were veterans who had experienced the quiz system before, so they had no doubts about it.
They took it very seriously.
Only Captain America looked utterly baffled. He looked at Nick Fury and asked, "What is this? A psychological test or mental evaluation for me?"
Captain America thought this quiz system was something Nick Fury cooked up, and actually, he could understand and accept such a thing.
After all, he was an old man who had slept for seventy years, a veteran who had killed countless enemies, totally out of sync with this era.
A psychological evaluation or something was necessary.
"No, Captain, I don't even fully understand this quiz system."
Nick Fury said seriously, "But it's a mysterious power beyond this era. It was through this quiz system that we found out you were still alive."
"In some ways, this quiz system saved you."
Nick Fury spoke so mysteriously about the system that it only confused Captain America more.
No matter how he looked at it, it just seemed like a projection device way ahead of their time.
"Captain, the quiz system reveals some future information through the questions," Iron Man added, "so I suggest you answer carefully."
Reveal future information?
Captain America couldn't believe his ears. Could such a thing really happen?
But judging by how serious and solemn Nick Fury and Iron Man looked, it didn't seem like a joke.
[Please listen to the question: Why did Alexander Pierce order the arrest of Captain Steve Rogers?]
[A. To control Captain America and replicate his serum]
[B. Captain America refused to disclose intelligence from Nick Fury before his death]
[C. Captain America helped his friend Bucky Barnes in criminal activities]
[D. Captain America refused to sign the Sokovia Accords]
[Friendly reminder: Correct answers will receive a plasma lightsaber as a reward; incorrect answers will randomly deduct one of your personal attributes, including but not limited to knowledge, experience, skills, or possessions...]
The very first question was explosive, revealing something crucial: Captain America would be arrested in the future!
Who was Captain America? He was the symbol of American spirit, a national idol, a World War II war hero who should be worshiped by the entire country—how could he be arrested?
Especially Captain America himself found it unbelievable.
He had devoted his entire life to this country, never once doing anything unworthy, yet in the future, this would be his fate?
That arrogant guy named Tony Stark said the quiz system could reveal his future. Could this really be his future?
The atmosphere grew heavy.
"Who is this Alexander Pierce? Which organization does he head?" Iron Man was the first to break the silence.
He pointed at Pierce on the screen and asked Nick Fury.
If Alexander Pierce could order the arrest of Captain America, he must be a powerful figure. As the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. and a veteran in intelligence, Nick Fury likely knew him.
"He's my former boss, the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D., and now the head of the UN Security Council." Nick Fury replied gravely.
"Your S.H.I.E.L.D. is actually going to arrest the Captain?" Iron Man was shocked.
