Chapter 39 - A Saintess has Awakened - Part 2

A messenger was quickly sent to the Church. The Grand Pope was brought into the palace. He quickly brought out the measuring device and asked the princess to keep her hands on it. Suddenly, the measuring device's light covered the entire room. Everyone closed their eyes as it was very blinding, while the Pope told Abigail to remove her hand.

Abigail swiftly retreated her hands, and the crystal's glow started to fade. The Pope, recovering, said,

"Your Majesty, Princess, Abigail has shown immense divinity. No doubt she is this century's saint. But..."

The Emperor asked,

"But what!"

The Pope replied,

"Your Majesty, I am not certain, but this kind of glow is recorded only twice in the history of the Estrandal Church. With your permission and assistance, may I please ask for two wounded people? If possible, those with severed limbs..."

The Emperor looked at his aide and ordered him to find such people. The aide quickly went out and, in minutes, brought in two soldiers, one with a severed hand and the other with no eyes.

The Pope looked at Abigail, and with the gentlest sweet voice asked,

"Princess, may I ask you heal these people?"

Abigail nodded and went near those soldiers. She wished to heal completely. A flash of light, just like last time, but with more intensity, appeared.

After the light calmed down, the soldier, who had no eyes before, started to scream,

"MIRACLE! MIRACLE!! I CAN SEE! I CAN SEE EVERYTHING NOW!"

The soldier who previously had no hand shouted,

"MY HAND! MY HAND IS BACK! A MIRACLE HAS HAPPENED TO ME!"

Both thanked Abigail profusely and were escorted out by the guards. Both the Emperor and Empress were puzzled by this. The Pope loudly said,

"The Great prophecy of Emperor Igor has come true! Your Majesties, here on this sacred ground of Sapphire Palace, we have witnessed a miracle that was not seen for centuries. We have witnessed the miracle of Great Healing, which was only described in legends. What's more, Princess's power is unlimited, just as the prophecy said. Hail to the Goddess! Hail to the Great Land of Visden!"

Both Emperor and Empress were puzzled by this, but their eyes quickly filled with greed, especially for the Emperor, who, at the start, thought he found a golden egg-laying bird, but now it turned out to lay.

The Pope, seeing greed in their eyes, continued,

"Your Majesties, I think it is in the Empire's best interest for the Princess to stay at the Church and begin her training for the Saintess as soon as possible..."

The Empress hesitated for a bit, but nodded towards the Emperor. The Emperor, spoke,

"If you think it is in the Empire's best interest, then sure, you may take Abigail and train her into a perfect Saint. (With an icy look showing dominance, towards Abigail) You will go and behave like a good Princess, wouldn't you, Abigail?"

The fierce intensity in his eyes sent chills down Abigail's spine. She replied,

"Yes, Father, I will go and train to be the perfect Saintess."
