KLAUS' POV
"Stop," I rasp, my mind slipping, the bond flaring in a desperate whimper. I try to push calming energy toward her, desperately trying to reach her through the bond. I'm your mate. I'm the father of your pups. You don't want this…
But she does. Orion's death hurts her more than my sick self can ever comprehend.
Then I start to feel her pain. She wants me to feel it. The pain, the terror, the helplessness. The same way she did. The same way Orion did when I gutted him in front of her.
I dig my claws into the ground, my eyes watering as I feel the invisible leash tighten. Blood rushes in my ears. My body shakes from the sheer weight of her power. It's so intense that the weight feels ridiculously too much.
How is she this strong? How had her body hidden it for so long?
Her hands lift again, and I feel myself rising off the ground, slowly, the force around my neck lifting me like I'm nothing more than a leaf.
