Olivia's POV
The kiss was hot, desperate, making every nerve ending in my body light up like fireworks.
For a moment, I let myself get lost in it. Let myself forget about Maxwell in the next room, about Gabriel and our fake dating arrangement, about all the complications and lies and confusion.
But then reality came crashing back.
No. This is wrong. Everything about this is wrong.
I pulled back, breaking the kiss, my hands pressing against his chest to create distance between us.
"Stop," I gasped, my voice shaking. "We have to stop."
"Why?" His voice sounded raw with need. "Olivia, please…"
"Because I'm dating someone now. I'm with someone. I can't do this."
He went completely still, his hands frozen where they'd been moving along my sides.
"You're serious."
"Yes. I'm seeing someone," I repeated, trying to steady my breathing. "It's new, but it's... it's real. And I can't… I won't cheat on him. That's not who I am."
