Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Ruthlessness

In the heat of battle, Rocky grew increasingly alarmed.

He realized that no matter how he varied his attacks, Yide seemed to anticipate his intentions, skillfully evading every strike.

What shocked him even more was Yide's terrifying swordsmanship.

The silver sword in his hand seemed to possess a life of its own, each swing carrying the force of a thunderbolt, making it impossible to defend against.

If it weren't for his extensive combat experience, he would likely have been pierced through the heart by Yide's sword and died on the spot.

After a series of fierce attacks, he felt somewhat exhausted.

He understood that continuing to fight like this would not benefit him in any way.

Therefore, he retreated rapidly, creating some distance between himself and Yide, attempting to temporarily end the battle.

"Yide, let's end it here today," Rocky said, panting heavily. "I'm canceling your contract. Let's stay out of each other's way and go our separate paths from now on."

Yide didn't respond but instead swung his silver sword fiercely, attacking Rocky.

The sword moved with extreme speed, carrying a sharp sword aura that made Rocky feel a pang of fear.

Rocky cursed inwardly.

He didn't expect Yide to be so unyielding, determined to kill him.

Left with no choice, he clenched his fist and met the attack, engaging with Yide once more.

The battle between the two became increasingly intense. In the dim evening light, they pulled back and forth, exchanging blows and kicks, with sword energy flying in all directions.

Occasionally, passersby would witness this thrilling battle and hide far away, too frightened to approach.

As the battle continued, Rocky gradually fell into a disadvantage. No matter how hard his fists were, they couldn't withstand the silver sword.

With each clash, a new wound would appear on his body, blood flowing freely, staining his clothes red.

Yide, on the other hand, only suffered minor injuries.

"Stop… stop! Yide, I surrender!" Rocky finally couldn't withstand Yide's fierce attacks. While desperately dodging the sword's pursuit, he cried out for mercy, "I'm willing to turn myself in! I'm willing to go to the Fortress of Meropide to face judgment!"

But how could Yide stop his sword?

If he hadn't upgraded his Favonius Bladework - Gale technique a few days prior, and if he hadn't fought Rocky many times in his previous life's game, he would have already died in the streets.

The longsword in his hand swung even more rapidly.

The silver sword in his hand transformed into a silver dragon, flying up and down, left and right, making it impossible for Rocky to resist.

At this moment, Rocky was filled with regret. He recalled the rumors about Yide, that he was a demon who killed without blinking an eye, even more so than himself.

"Yide, spare me! I'll tell you who hired me to kill you!"

"I don't need to know!"

As soon as the words left his mouth, the silver sword in Yide's hand pierced Rocky's heart like lightning.

Rocky only managed to let out a short scream before red blood spurted from the wound, staining his chest crimson.

Rocky's eyes widened, and he fell weakly into the pool of blood.

Without emotion, Yide withdrew the longsword from his heart.

Then, he gently crouched down and, with cold fingers, closed Rocky's eyelids, allowing him to sleep forever.

Afterward, Yide grabbed Rocky by the collar, as if lifting a lifeless animal.

A wicked smile appeared on his face, and he continued forward with steady and powerful steps.

The passersby who witnessed this terrifying scene felt their hair stand on end. They saw a demon from the underworld walking among humans.

Yide soon arrived at his destination – the Palais Mermonia's office building.

He stood calmly at the entrance, and then, under the astonished gaze of the receptionists, he threw Rocky's body inside without warning.

His tone was cold and disdainful as he said to them, "Tell Tywin that next time he wants to hire an assassin, remember to get someone with some skill. Don't bother with this kind of trash."

With that, he turned and left without hesitation, leaving behind a scene of silence and shock.

The news quickly reached Tywin's ears.

He rushed over, his eyes almost bursting into flames when he saw Rocky's body.

The operation to hire Rocky wasn't his doing, but now, Yide had firmly placed the blame on him.

This was undoubtedly a serious provocation and trampling of his authority and dignity.

"Dispose of Rocky's body and bury it in a hidden place. Also, go to the Steambird and tell them to keep silent about this matter," Tywin sternly ordered his subordinates, his tone revealing an unquestionable authority.

"Yes, sir!" the subordinates responded in unison and immediately took action.

Tywin himself turned and left with a gloomy expression, heading towards his own home.

Soon, he arrived at his villa.

He pushed the door open heavily and stepped into the spacious living room, but the scene before him only made him angrier.

Herbert was sitting comfortably on the sofa, holding a glass of red wine in his hand, a joyful smile on his face, as if he were celebrating some happy occasion alone.

Hearing the door open, he subconsciously looked up and saw Tywin's livid face. His smile immediately froze.

"Fath-Father, what's wrong?" Herbert's voice trembled slightly.

Tywin frowned, his eyes flashing with disappointment and anger.

He strode to Herbert and raised his arm, delivering a hard slap to his face.

The crisp sound echoed in the living room, making Herbert's heart skip a beat.

"Father, I was wrong!" Herbert quickly covered his cheek and knelt before Tywin, begging for forgiveness.

Tywin didn't stop. He raised his arm again and again.

Herbert's cheeks quickly swelled up, almost unrecognizable.

"You useless son, you've truly disappointed me!" Tywin roared, his voice echoing in the living room, full of anger and disappointment. "How many times have I warned you not to take action against Yide without my permission?

He has offended so many nobles; naturally, there are those who want him dead more than we do.

We just need to wait for the opportunity, wait for these nobles to strike together, and then we can seize the moment and deliver a fatal blow!"

Herbert covered his swollen mouth, nodding repeatedly, not daring to offer the slightest rebuttal.

His eyes flashed with hatred and resentment.

He vowed in his heart to repay all this pain a hundredfold to Yide.
