It was Anne, it was undoubtedly his wife in front of him, and he had only been away from her for about a day or two, but why did it feel this different?
"Annelise, are you alright? How do you feel?" He pulled her back from his hug, looking down into her eyes right now the feeling of something strange felt too heavy in his heart.
"I feel very tired but the doctors said that I'm very strong, and it was a very easy delivery. When I heard you were coming back I couldn't wait to see you."
"Your voice..." Andrew said with a frown, there was something wrong with the way she sounded but he couldn't exactly pin point what it was.
Andrew had his eyes exclusively pinned on his wife, so he noticed every tiny expression that fleeted past her eyes.
It was a look of uneasiness for a second as If she was hiding something from him.
