"So, you've got nothing to say?" Staring Laxus down, I did some preemptive stretching for the fight that was to come. "Why don't you just surrender? We both know how this will end." "I'm confident it will end in your defeat." Laxus flashed a grin before laughing while I cracked my fingers and neck, loosening my joints.
"Do you really think you're my equal right now? You've already used some of your magic from running back and forth." "True; the two of us are too close in strength. A slight handicap like that can easily decide the outcome." Once I finished stretching, I stood straight and glared at Laxus before gesturing to the others.
"However, thanks to them, they've evened the playing field. You also used some of your magic dealing with them." Clicking his tongue, Laxus spat on the ground, the calm expression vanishing from his face as he stared at me. "I expected you'd be more furious. Where is that raging beast? Did you throw him away?" "You're sorely mistaken, Laxus; I'm livid right now. But Gramps told me I shouldn't let my anger guide my judgement."
"Heh, that sounds like something that senile old fool would say. So, how's it working out?" "I fucking hate it. The desire to cave your chest in is all I can think about." Spitting on the ground, I had to physically restrain myself from lunging at Laxus and beating him to an inch of his life.
"Tch, c'mon, let's change scenario… We'll destroy Magnolia." At my words, I gestured to one of the forests far away from Magnolia, as a battle between Laxus and I wouldn't just destroy Magnolia, we'd wipe it from the map. However, from his expression, he didn't seem that keen on listening. "Ho, that sounds like a you problem. I don't really care if Magnolia is destroyed; I'll just relocate Fairy Tail." That arrogant smirk of his was all I needed.
"Fine then. I'll just do so forcefully." Immediately, I vastly overflooded my body with magic power, causing my skin to brightly glow gold as I arrived in front of Laxus just as his eyes widened. Thrusting my arm, I grabbed his face before bending my knees and launching myself and Laxus out of Magnolia, shooting through the sky like a meteor.
Leaving the city behind, once we reached the peak of my leap, I threw Laxus into the forest while I withdrew my magic just as I began to fall. Landing on the ground, creating a crater, I swiftly dashed through the forest, heading in the direction where I'd thrown Laxus, following the path of broken trees his body must've made before I found him within a boulder.
Coming to a stop several meters before him, I folded my arms, silently watching as Laxus freed himself from the boulder before he opened his eyes and furiously glared at me. "Damn Beast." Grabbing his cloak, he threw it off his body before his magic power erupted from his body, causing wide arcs of lightning to dance around him.
"Hehe, good, good! Oh, I've been waiting for this for a while!" Chuckling, I flexed my muscles, and my magic power erupted from my body, enveloping me in a golden aura as the air vibrated. As our magic power collided, the shockwave created a large clearing around us as it uprooted nearby trees, sending them flying through the air.
"You'd better fight Laxus! Fight like your life depends on it!" Baring my fangs, I lowered my stance, staring intently at Laxus while he gritted his teeth, entering a stance of his own. "I'll fucking kill you, Cooper!" Simultaneously, we cut off our magic power, causing everything around us to descend into silence; It was just like the calm before the storm, and it wasn't long before the storm arrived.
Taking a deep breath, Laxus concentrated a dangerous amount of mana within his throat, causing me to grin as I flooded my body to its limit with magic power. Opening his mouth, Laxus released his lightning dragon roar, a swirling vortex of condensed lightning; it was incredibly powerful, probably even more so than the skeleton dragon I'd fought, but that just made me grin.
Dashing forward, I leaped into the attack, causing lightning to endlessly and violently slam into me while the force alone sought to tear me apart; however, I forced through the attack, standing my ground, and just when I was about to emerge from the other side, I crossed my arms, only for Laxus to punch me.
"I've done it so many times, you think I didn't know you would be ready for it?" Flashing Laxus a grin at having anticipated him, I broke my defensive stance, forcing him back while I dashed at him, punching his chest, though I could barely land a meaningful attack before he transformed into lightning, swiftly circling behind me.
Front flipping, dodging Laxus's attack from behind, I used my leg to kick him, yet he caught my leg, causing me to grab the ground and push off it, throwing him into the air while I continued with the front flip, throwing a chunk of earth at him that I had enhanced. However, he easily destroyed it with a lightning punch before gathering a significant amount of lightning within his fist and punching again at me, sending a lightning fist my way.
Leaping into the air, I met the attack head-on with a punch of my own, breaking through it while Laxus slammed into me while in lightning form, causing us to crash into the ground, though I had kicked him away shortly after.
Exiting from the crater, I spat out a bit of blood, glaring at Laxus while blood leaked from the side of his head. Smirking, I charged at him while he did the same, channeling lightning through his fists and feet; colliding head-on, I blocked Laxus's kick before punching his stomach, though he also blocked it. However, I promptly jumped, using his leg as support to twist my body and grab his head with my leg before turning again, forcing him off the ground while I kicked his stomach, causing him to skid across the ground.
"Heh, if you expect to beat me in close combat, you've got another thi–" I wasn't able to finish speaking as a bolt of lightning slammed into my chest, sending me crashing through multiple trees. 'Tch, that fucking hurt.' Rubbing the scorched mark on my chest where he'd hit me, I quickly rose to my feet, blocking another lightning bolt while Laxus followed closely behind it, punching my stomach, lifting me off the ground.
However, before he could follow with a kick, I grabbed his leg while digging my foot into a tree as I threw Laxus at the ground before lunging at him, slamming my fist where his head had just previously been. Kicking my stomach once more, flinging me into the air, Laxus throws lightning attacks at me like there was no tomorrow, causing me to cross my arms while inwardly cursing my lack of aerial movement.
Landing back on the ground after having been subjected to several attacks, I met Laxus's fist with my own, bringing him to a halt before we quickly tried to overpower each other, pushing with all our might. "Just give up, Cooper. You can't win! You can't beat me!" Roaring, Laxus pushed even harder while the lightning on his fists grew stronger, causing me to scoff through gritted teeth.
"You think you'll win because you've landed a few good hits? If I could get taken out by a few mere hits, I'd have died so many years ago. You'll have to kill me to defeat me!" Grinning, I matched his strength, ensuring I wasn't forced back, only to suddenly go limp, prompting Laxus to step forward while I swiftly drove my fist into his gut, followed by kicking the side of his head, flinging him deeper into the forest.
'Oh, that felt good.' Faintly smirking, I chased after Laxus, though I didn't go that far as a massive lightning roar met me halfway, prompting me to leap out of the way, only for Laxus to swiftly arrive in front of me while in lightning form. 'Tch bastard is so fast when in lightning.'
Seeing his attacks, I raised my arms, intending to intercept them, though just as I blocked his attack, he suddenly opened his mouth, firing a lightning dragon roar at point-blank range. 'Fuck me.' As I was engulfed in the attack, I locked my arm around his arm, preventing me from being flung away while being scorched alive by his lightning. 'Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.'
Swinging from his around, I escaped his attack and violently kicked his back, sending him crashing into the ground while I followed after him, flipping upside down as I spun on my hands, repeatedly kicking him while he crossed his arms, blocking everything. Kicking my feet, knocking me over, he violently punched my back, forcing me several meters into the ground.
Quickly leaping out of the crater, I blocked his punch and kicked his side, though he locked his arm around my leg and threw me through the forest while closely following in his lightning form. Just as he prepared to attack again, I reoriented myself and punched him in his face, knocking him out of his lightning form.
"Tch, I hate that cheating ass form. You can't be just as strong as me and then faster; that ain't fair."
