Raiden drove back to the small town, the peaceful and conflict-free place he had gone to after escaping from the cave. Everything in the town seemed exactly the same as when Raiden and Yinsen had left.
But unlike the last time he was here, as soon as Raiden entered the town this time, he clearly sensed that someone was watching him—and it was blatant surveillance.
As Raiden car drove into the town, two vehicles immediately emerged from a side alley and began tailing him.
The drivers of these cars didn't seem to bother hiding their intentions, following Raiden methodically, maintaining a moderate distance the entire time.
However, their purpose appeared to be simply following Raiden, as they didn't take any other actions against him.
Since that was the case, Raiden decided not to pay them any mind. If they wanted to follow, let them. He drove skillfully toward the tavern.
Just as he approached the tavern, Raiden was idly observing his surroundings when suddenly, several figures were thrown out of the tavern, landing heavily on the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.
Raiden looked puzzled at the figures groaning in pain on the ground. Sitting in the driver's seat, he shook his head with a wry smile, then parked the car nearby and got out.
The bartender, who had thrown the men out, was about to return to the tavern when he noticed an unfamiliar car approaching. He couldn't help but chuckle to himself, thinking that there had been quite a few visitors lately.
So, the bartender crossed his arms and leaned against the tavern entrance, watching Raiden car with amusement, curious to see who had arrived this time.
Meanwhile, the two cars that had been following Raiden also stopped, and several armed men got out.
The armed men were about to approach Raiden car when the bartender waved them off, signaling them to stay calm and wait patiently for Raiden to get out of the car.
As Raiden stepped out of the car, he immediately noticed the armed men nearby. He frowned slightly but then greeted the bartender warmly.
"Hey, long time no see."
The bartender was momentarily stunned, his eyes lingering on Raiden face. This wasn't quite what he had expected. He then spoke in a somewhat uncertain tone.
"You... sir, is it you?"
The bartender recognized Raiden, but it was clear he had forgotten his name.
"Raiden, Raiden Akatosh" Raiden walked over and extended his hand.
"Oh, my apologies, Mr. Akatosh. I really didn't expect you to come back here" the bartender said with a smile as he shook Raiden hand. He then waved at the armed men, signaling them to leave.
The men immediately holstered their weapons, returned to their cars, and drove away from the tavern.
Watching the men leave, the bartender turned back to Raiden, slightly stepping aside, and said
"Mr. Akatosh, please, come in."
Raiden smiled and walked into the tavern without hesitation. However, as he passed the entrance, he glanced at the figures lying on the ground and asked the bartender,.
"Who are these? Why are you throwing people out before it's even dark?"
The bartender replied with a hint of helplessness.
"There are always people who don't know their way around here, aren't there?"
Raiden shrugged and strode into the tavern.
As soon as he stepped inside, a wave of noisy "heat" hit him. Raiden had often complained about the poor soundproofing of the tavern door in the past.
A man drinking inside suddenly noticed a unfamiliar face entering. He immediately stopped what he was doing and stared intently at Raiden.
This action caused a chain reaction. Everyone in the tavern stopped what they were doing and turned their eyes toward Raiden. The atmosphere in the tavern instantly froze.
But when they saw the bartender following Raiden with a smile leading the way they quickly returned to normal and resumed their drinking.
Raiden didn't let the bartender guide him. He walked straight toward the bar at the back, where a beautiful woman was sitting, idly playing with a glass in her hand.
Raiden looked at the woman, who seemed somewhat bored, and boldly walked over to sit down.
"A drink" he said.
The woman picked up the glass and held it up to her eyes, looking at Raiden through the green liquid inside.
"The seats here are much more expensive than those outside" she remarked.
Raiden pulled out a stack of dollars from his pocket and placed it on the table.
"Is this enough?"
The woman tilted her head, her beautiful face emerging from behind the glass. Her flawless features carried a smile that could enchant anyone.
"I wonder what Mr. Akatosh would like to drink?" she asked.
Raiden raised an eyebrow, reached out, and took the glass from in front of the woman.
"Flaming Red Lips," he said.
The woman nodded, took the dollars from the table, and began mixing the drink. Watching her focus on the task, Raiden couldn't help but ask.
"Michelle, aren't you surprised to see me?"
"Oh?" Michelle paused, turned her head to look at Raiden, and put on an expression of surprise.
"Then should I curiously ask why Mr. Akatosh has returned here?"
Seeing the serious look on Michelle face, Raiden shook his head helplessly and waved his hand, signaling her to continue mixing the drink.
Michelle looked at Raiden, shrugged, and then lowered her head to continue preparing the cocktail. Soon, a glass was placed on the table.
Inside the glass under the flickering flame the crimson liquid was full of temptation.
Raiden picked up the glass, swirled it, and looked up at Michelle.
"These lips don't seem red enough" he said.
Michelle raised an eyebrow, staring at Raiden for a moment, while Raiden gaze met hers without flinching.
Their eyes locked in silent communication. Suddenly, Michelle reached out and snatched the glass from Raiden hand, spilling some of the drink in the process.
Michelle held the glass, looked at the remaining liquid inside, shook it, and then downed it in one go. Afterward, she turned her gaze back to Raiden.
Her bright eyes were filled with temptation, and her beautiful face bore a hint of blush. Michelle bit her lip, and a trace of blood seeped from her alluring red lips, mingling with the wine in her mouth.
Raiden stared at Michelle lips for a moment, then shifted his gaze to her eyes, just as their eyes met.
Michelle gaze was bold, brimming with aggression, and it seemed to slowly erode Raiden defenses...
The sound of a glass hitting the floor stood out amidst the noisy tavern. The moment the sound echoed, the tavern fell into complete silence, and some patrons even pulled out their pistols from their pockets.
All eyes turned toward the bar, where a man and a woman were embracing and kissing, completely oblivious to their surroundings.
Suddenly, the door they were leaning against opened and the two tumbled inside. As the door slowly closed, the patrons stared in that direction their curiosity piqued.
"What? Had too much to drink?" the bartender suddenly spoke up, breaking the silence in the tavern.
The patrons nearest to the bartender quickly smiled and nodded at him, then picked up their glasses and continued drinking with their companions.
The others also hurriedly resumed their drinks, and soon the tavern was lively again.
Meanwhile, the couple in the room was immersed in their own long-awaited excitement.
