Chapter 62 - Artificial Intelligent Assistant - Serana

Since Tony publicly revealed his identity as Iron Man to the public, he has changed—both for the better and for the worse.

On the positive side, Tony seemed to have suddenly matured. Finally, in his late thirties, he ended his rebellious teenage phase. He began to care more about people, using his wealth to help others.

But on the negative side... this jerk has merely transitioned from his eighteen-year-old self. Now, he was filled with wild imaginations.

Tony now believes he is a savior, taking it upon himself to restore the roman empire... no, to save the world.

Fortunately, amidst his busy schedule, this savior managed to carve out some time to visit Raiden estate and install something Raiden had long dreamed of—an AI butler.

Tony first installed a massive computer in the basement of Raiden estate. It was the most advanced computer in the world, and Raiden intelligent AI butler was born within it.

"Tony, if this computer explodes, will my AI butler... disappear?" Raiden pointed at the enormous computer and asked.

"Of course not. In a moment, I'll connect the computer to the internet. Once that's done, your AI butler will exist on the internet. As long as the internet exists, it will live forever" Tony said, his eyes fixed on the flowing code on the display screen.

"Then why go through all the trouble of installing this computer?" Raiden asked, puzzled.

"Well, it's like a home or a weapon. It can significantly enhance your AI butler computing power. I don't recommend using your AI butler to invade others' networks or use their computers," Tony explained.

"By the way, Raiden, what name are you planning to give it? You can also customize its voice. Once you finish these two steps, I'll connect it to the internet, and your AI butler will be fully operational" Tony turned to Raiden and said, then stepped aside to let Raiden take over the display.

"A name? Naming things is so hard" Raiden walked up to the display, rubbing his head in frustration.

Seeing Raiden struggle, Tony stepped forward and said.

"Why don't you just pick a random name for now? You can always change it later when you think of a better one."

"No, no, let me think about it first. Why don't you go upstairs and relax for a bit? I'll call you down when I've decided" Raiden said to Tony.

While Raiden and Tony were busy with the AI butler in the basement, Yinsen was upstairs fishing. Tony had undertaken a massive project to create an artificial lake.

"Alright, call me when you've decided" Tony said as he left the basement. The floor above the basement was a workshop. Raiden didn't really need a workshop or a lab, but Tony, out of habit, had designed one for him.

As Tony passed through the workshop, he noticed three figures covered with cloth on the shelves. He smiled with anticipation.

Those were something Tony had brought along when he moved the computer earlier. They would be a surprise for Raiden!

Down in the basement, Raiden was still unaware of the surprise waiting for him. He was preoccupied with deciding on a name for his intelligent assistant.

"Zoro? Not domineering enough."

"Udyr? Too old-fashioned."

"Serana... Serana?"

Suddenly, a name flashed through Raiden mind—a girl, someone shrouded in darkness yet filled with light, someone cold yet passionate.

With a smile, Raiden typed "Serana" into the display. As he pressed the confirm button, a neutral, emotionless voice spoke up.

"Hello, Mr. Akatosh. I am your intelligent assistant, Serana."

"Hello, Serana" Raiden replied hesitantly.

"Sir, how may I assist you?" Serana continued.

"I'd like to modify your voice" Raiden said after a moment of thought.

"Certainly. Please choose between a male or female voice."

Setting the voice was no small task. Raiden spent a considerable amount of time tweaking it to match the familiar tone he had in mind.

Too cold? No.

Too warm? No.

This voice is too heavy, it lacks a certain ethereal quality.

This voice is too hollow, it feels empty.

...

Upstairs by the lake, Tony and Yinsen were fishing.

"Tony, what on earth is Raiden doing down there?" Yinsen asked, gazing at the calm lake.

"Well, two... simple steps. Choosing a name and setting a voice" Tony replied, looking into the distance.

"But it's been the whole afternoon. Why isn't he done yet?" Yinsen pulled up his fishing rod, catching yet another fish.

"Beats me," Tony said, equally puzzled. Raiden was taking his sweet time. When Tony had set up JARVIS, it had only taken him a few minutes—he used the name of his late butler and didn't even bother changing the voice.

"Should we go check on him? We've caught enough fish anyway" Yinsen suggested, standing up.

Tony glanced at the bucket full of fish and nodded.

They had indeed caught enough... probably not many left in the lake anyway.

There weren't many fish released into the lake these past few days, only about thirty or forty. Yinsen had managed to fill the bucket...

"What are we going to do with all these fish?" Tony suddenly asked.

"We'll have fish for dinner. I learned a good fish recipes online. I'll take the extra home" Yinsen said, picking up the bucket.

"Alright then" Tony agreed. After a pause, he added "Tomorrow, I'll have someone bring more fish to stock the lake."

Yinsen nodded, and the two got into the nearby golf cart, heading back to the house. The lake was about a kilometer away from the main building.

As Yinsen drove the cart, they had only gone a few meters when suddenly, a woman voice appeared beside them, startling Yinsen.

"Gentlemen, Mr. Akatosh is waiting for you in the living room."

It was a pleasant female voice, like a stream flowing down from an iceberg—ethereal yet with a unique charm.

Yinsen and Tony exchanged glances. Now they knew what Raiden had been busy with all afternoon.

...

"Raiden, you finally got it done. Let's go, we'll help you get connected to the internet first. As for Yinsen, he's in the kitchen cooking. The guy says he has a signature fish dish" Tony said, patting Raiden on the shoulder.

"No need, I'm already connected" Raiden nodded.

"Connected?" Tony asked, puzzled. "Raiden, you know how to do that?"

"Of course not, but Serana does. Serana is the name I gave my AI assistant" Raiden explained.

"Alright, that's an odd name. But did you set up the activity range? You can't let your AI assistant—uh, Serana—freely access the network, especially private areas. And there are many things you need to filter out" Tony said.

"Uh..." Raiden shook his head, looking confused.

"Oh, alright" Tony said with a wry smile.

"Serana, restrict activity range and filter the following content: pornography, violence..."

"Sorry, sir, I only take orders from Mr. Akatosh" Serana replied.

Tony looked at Raiden, who rubbed his forehead.

"Serana, set Stark and Ho to second priority."

"Understood, Mr. Akatosh. Please confirm the command again."

Watching Tony give instructions and Yinsen busy in the kitchen, Raiden lay on the couch gazing at the sunset outside.

This kind of life... it's really nice.
