For two weeks Maria has not been herself, thank goodness Edward wasn't around even though she's dieing to have him with her. She hasn't been going to work often as Dew and Lisa had stepped in for her.
They both thinks she's pregnant with all the signs and symptoms and Dew had called one of the physician from the monastery to come check on her two days ago and she's indeed pregnant but she had refused telling Edward.
Her phone rang and she smiled at the caller ID.
"Hello my love" Edward voice came through
"Darling I miss you, good evening" said Maria
"I want to see your pretty face" Edward said switching the call to FaceTime she looked at her appearance on the mirror before accepting the call but Edward knew his wife's looks so she can't fool him.
"My love are you okay, you look pale_ hold on I'll ask doctor Lazarus to come over" Edward told her
"Darling there's no need for that, I've seen a doctor and I'll be fine" she told him but Edward got upset
"When did you see the doctor?" He asked
"Two days ago" what she said got him more upset and he hung up the call to which surprised Maria.
' why's he mad for no reason' she thought
Early the next morning Edward returned home just as his domestic staffs were beginning to go about the days work.
"Welcome back young master Edward" his staffs were greeting him as he walked in.
"Daddy you're back" Mia said running towards him
"Good morning my pretty girl"
"Good morning daddy_ mom is still sleeping" she told him.
"That's not an issue, go join your nanny so you won't go late to school" Edward told her
"Daddy you promised to change my car" Mia pouts
"Yes I did but not now" he told her
"Oh, are you scared of the lioness upstairs" Mia said chuckling and Edward joined her.
Funny how she knows her mom is impossible to deal with sometimes, as took the stairs he could hear the little girl refusing to do as her nanny had told her to causing him to pause in his tracks to listen more. He hadn't really been paying attention to these things until Maria spoke against it.
"Mia stop, why don't you listen to nanny Fefe_ is she always like this" Edward James asked the elderly lady.
"Not really young master" she replied but Edward knew better.
"This shouldn't repeat itself Mia, you listen to your nanny and this should be the last time you treat others rudely. And for your punishment you're not having any candies nor lollipop to school henceforth" Edward told the little girl not happy how she disobeyed the nanny.
"But daddy I don't want strawberry shortcakes I want banana smoothie and cupcakes" Mia said with her eyes soaked in tears, Edward knows if he refused her going to school today will be a problem
"On the condition that you'll always speak politely to your nanny, if you don't you'll henceforth care for yourself before going to school" Edward told her and was living the kitchen
"Daddy can I have some sweets please" Mia asked but Edward refused
"No you can't until I say otherwise"
Maria had woken up but she was still in bed unaware her husband is back. She wasn't going to work as she wasn't feeling well.
She still can't believe she's pregnant not after being told she won't conceive after her previous pregnancy that was the reason she never cared to take the pills when she had sex with her husband.
She felt the bed deepen behind her so she turned to face who it was but never expected to see her husband.
"Darling you're back, i missed you my love_ are you just coming" Maria said
"Good morning my precious queen, I miss you more than words can say and yes I got back few minutes ago" Edward said pulling her in for a hug but he stopped mid way
"You're running a temperature sweetie" Edward said getting off the bed, in swift seconds he brought out his phone to call the doctor but Maria stopped him.
"There's no need for the doctor honey am getting better actually" she told him and Edward furrowed his brows at her
"Sure you're getting better_ get dressed am bringing you to the hospital" he stated but Maria remained on her spot.
"Sweetheart come on don't give me that look, we're going to see the doctor and that's final" Edward said as he took the covers off her boby.
"Am not going and you won't force me to" she said getting irritated Edward saw her mood and decided to let her be
"Okay do as you please" with that he got inside the walk-in closet and change into another set of suit, he got out and saw his wife on the phone.
"Am off to work I'll see you when I return" he whispered but Maria closed the distance between them
"Hold on a sec" she spoke to the caller then gave her attention to her husband
" You're forgetting something sweetie" she told him but Edward knitted his brows giving her the 'what do you mean' look
"You haven't kissed me, I need it" she said hugging his waist but Edward took her hands off softly.
"You're not getting it because you upset me" he stated smirking at her but she rolled her eyes at him going back to pick her phone
"Really?" Edward asked but she shrugged.
