~ General PoV ~

The arena maintenance crew worked quickly as they repaired the damage from Lucy's attack, their magic restoring the battlefield to pristine condition within minutes. As the dust settled and the final traces of Celestial magic faded from the air, Chapati's voice rang out once more.

"Our second match of the day features Blue Pegasus's Ren Akatsuki against Mermaid Heel's Arana Webb!"

The fight that followed was a stark contrast to Lucy's dominant performance. Both combatants were skilled in their own right, and their battle became a prolonged back-and-forth affair that kept the crowd engaged. Ren's magic clashed against Arana's web-based attacks in a display of tactical thinking and endurance that showcased a different type of magical combat.

For nearly twenty minutes, neither fighter could gain a decisive advantage. Arana's webs proved effective at controlling the battlefield, while Ren's magic provided both offensive options and protective barriers. The crowd appreciated the technical skill on display, even if it lacked the raw spectacle of the previous match.

When the battle finally concluded with Ren managing to land a decisive combination attack, the audience cheered appreciatively for both contestants. The victory pushed Blue Pegasus up to fourteen points while Mermaid Heel remained at three.

"And now for our third match of the day!" Chapati announced as the arena was once again restored. "From Quatro Cerberus, we have Warcry! And representing the reigning champions, Sabertooth's Olga Nanagear!"

The moment Olga stepped into the arena, the crowd's reaction made their preferences crystal clear as deafening roars and cheers erupted from every section of the colosseum.

"Just listen to the crowd! He's incredibly popular!" Chapati commented, his own voice barely audible over the sustained cheering.

In the Fairy Tail supporter's stand, Happy and Lily found themselves discussing the upcoming battle.

"I'm interested to finally see a real fight from Sabertooth," Lily observed, his militaristic background evident in the way he assessed the competitor entering the arena. "Their reputation precedes them, but we haven't seen their full capabilities yet."

Happy nodded thoughtfully, though his expression carried a hint of concern. "I wonder if Olga will be as strong as Rufus was in the Hidden contest."

Meanwhile, in the Sabertooth supporter's section, Frosch and Lector were having their own conversation about the match. The pink-suited Exceed looked up at his friend with curious eyes.

"Fro thinks... who will win?" Frosch asked in his characteristic manner.

Lector puffed up with pride.

"Olga will win, obviously! Sting-kun is Sabertooth's strongest, but all of our members are incredibly powerful too." He shot a teasing look at his companion. "You must really be dumb if you don't know that much, Frosch!"

"Fro thinks so too!" Came the cheerful reply, the green Exceed's agreeable nature shining through as always.

As the announcer called for the third match to begin, the crowd settled into expectant silence. Warcry took his fighting stance while Olga raised one hand casually, as if the upcoming battle was nothing more than a minor inconvenience.

What happened next shocked everyone in attendance.

Olga's attack came without warning or buildup. Black lightning erupted from his fingertips in a concentrated beam that struck Warcry before the man could even begin to react. The dark electrical energy wrapped around Quatro Cerberus's representative in a sphere, and within seconds he was unconscious on the arena floor.

The reactions to this display varied dramatically across the colosseum. Sting wore a satisfied smirk from his position in the Sabertooth stand. In the Fairy Tail Team B section, Laxus leaned forward with interest, his own lightning magic giving him a professional appreciation for what he'd just witnessed.

"Another lightning mage…" He murmured, his tone carrying both curiosity and evaluation. "Interesting."

The Exceeds, however, had very different reactions to the brief battle. Lily felt an involuntary shiver run down his spine at the sight of the black lightning, while Happy's reaction was even more obvious, his small body trembling as they processed what they'd just seen.

"Light... Ning..."

"A single attack..."

"The match is over in a literal flash!" Chapati announced, his excitement barely contained. "Olga's black lightning scorches the field in an instant! The winner is Sabertooth's Olga Nanagear!"

The scoreboard updated immediately, showing Sabertooth's commanding lead as they reached twenty points for the day. Meanwhile, Quatro Cerberus found itself in second-to-last place with only two points, a harsh reminder of how quickly fortunes could change in the Grand Magic Games.

"With this, Sabertooth cements their position as the top guild at the end of the first day!" The announcer continued as Olga walked back to join his team with the same casual confidence he'd displayed throughout the brief fight. "Meanwhile, Quatro Cerberus falls to second last with just two points! What a disappointing turn of events!"

As the arena repair crews began their work once more, preparing the battlefield for the final match of the day, anticipation began building throughout the colosseum. The crowd sensed that something special was coming, and their murmurs grew louder as speculation ran wild about who would be selected for the day's closing battle.

When Chapati's voice rang out again, the entire arena fell silent in anticipation.

"All right! The final match of the first day will be..." He paused dramatically, letting the tension build to its peak. "Lamia Scale's Jura Neekis versus Fairy Tail Team B's Shisui!"

The crowd's reaction was divided as half the arena erupted in cheers for Jura, the respected mage whose reputation had only grown during Fairy Tail's seven-year absence. The other half roared its approval for the mysterious S-class mage who had returned from the dead, their curiosity about Shisui the Teleporter finally about to be satisfied.

Despite the split allegiances, there was one thing every spectator agreed upon: they hadn't expected these two powerhouses to face each other on the very first day.

As Jura made his way toward the arena entrance, his Lamia Scale teammates gathered around to offer their support and encouragement.

"You've got this, Jura!" one of them called out confidently. "This match is basically won already!"

In the Fairy Tail supporter's stand, Jet and Droy exchanged meaningful glances before sharing information that surprised their companions.

"During the seven years everyone was gone," Jet began, his expression serious, "Jura earned himself the title of Wizard Saint."

The revelation drew shocked gasps from Levy and Lisanna.

"You mean he's on the same level as Master?" Lisanna asked.

"That's exactly what it means…" Droy confirmed grimly. "Jura Neekis is now publicly considered one of the ten strongest mages in all of Ishgar."

As Shisui began making his own way toward the arena, Mirajane couldn't help but voice her concerns.

"How unlucky…" She murmured, though her tone carried more worry than genuine disappointment. "Running smack into the famous Jura on the very first day..."

Gajeel looked up from where he'd been observing the crowd's reactions, curiosity evident in his expression. "Is that bald priest really that strong?"

The question drew surprised looks from both Gajeel and Juvia when Mira provided her honest assessment. "I'm not even sure if Erza and I could beat him in a two-on-one battle."

Before their concerns could spiral into genuine worry, Laxus spoke up with absolute certainty. "Shisui will win."

His teammates waited for elaboration, for some explanation of his confidence, but none came. Laxus simply watched as his fellow S-class mage took his position in the arena, his expression carrying the kind of absolute faith that came from firsthand knowledge of what Shisui was capable of.

Down in the centre of the arena, Jura approached Shisui with the respectful bearing of a true martial artist. When he spoke, his voice carried easily across the battlefield despite its gentle tone.

"Personally, I would like to see Fairy Tail make it far into these games." He said honestly. "However, our old woman back home is ever so fussy about our performance."

He paused, his expression growing more serious. "I must apologize, but I will not be holding anything back in our fight."

Shisui's response however, had a completely different effect compared to Jura's. "I wouldn't want you to, because I'll be ending this quickly."

From the supporter's stand, a familiar voice rang out across the arena with pure, childish enthusiasm. "Go go fight fight, Shishi-nii!"

Asuka's encouragement drew smiles from spectators throughout the colosseum, the innocent joy in her voice a perfect counterpoint to the serious battle about to unfold.

Chapati raised his voice for the final announcement of the day.

"Let the final match of the day... BEGIN!"
