Chapter 120: Council Divided
The roar in the distance wasn't what Liana expected. It was coming from the wrong direction entirely.
"That's not the Council," Kael said, his Alpha senses on high alert. "That's coming from the east."
"The Council's approaching from the west," Rowan added, his connection to the network showing him flashes of dark energy moving through the forest. "So what's in the east?" Jace asked.
Their question was answered when three figures stepped out of the treeline with their hands raised in submission.
But these weren't ordinary magical beings. They wore the silver robes of High Council members.
"Don't attack!" the woman in front called out. "We're here to help!" Marcus stepped forward, his weapon drawn.
"Council members don't help anyone but themselves." "Former Council members," the woman corrected.
"My name is Councilor Iris. These are Councilors Vale and Thorne. We've broken away from the High Council."
