I've been standing here for almost ten minutes now, touching a casket.
"Hey, System, get it done already. What are you doing for this long?"
[Yes, it's done in ten seconds. Thank you for your patience.]
[Ding. Remnant of the demigod has been absorbed.]
[You gained 1 system point and 10 stat points.]
"Okay, that's not bad. The system points are for function unlocks, right?"
"Then let's make the map better. I wanna see the world… or maybe…"
[It's not possible. You need 2 system points for that. You can only open a new basic function with the points you have.]
"… I don't know why I expected something from you. Sigh. Do you have any recommendations, System?"
[Yes. You need to take all this treasure, but you can't. So maybe a storage space would be helpful.]
"I don't know what to say to you. You're not always useful, I think."
Just give me the storage space. It'll be useful anyway.
[It will be done in 2 hours.]
"… You fucking system. I'm done with you. For today, don't talk unless I tell you to."
Let's call the boys in and rest. We've been walking around all day, and I'm pretty tired.
But is this place safe now? Fuck. "System—just yes or no—can I and my men camp here safely, or will they die?"
[No.]
I walk out of the door and see the others sitting around worriedly.
"Boys, come in," I called to them. They looked scared but followed anyway.
When they came in and saw the mountains of gold, nobody talked or moved for a second.
"My lord… there's too much. How are we going to take it all away?"
Sigh. In two hours we can, Tonsen. But how should I tell them?
"I'll handle that. You five just pile everything in the middle of the throne room and make sure it's separated by categories."
They looked at me, and Roman began talking. "My lord, should we do it now or in the morning?"
"There's no hurry. Just camp here and rest. We can handle it tomorrow."
We camped in the throne room, and I went to sleep.
Tomorrow morning
"My lord, wake up."
I got up and looked around.
It really feels good to sleep and wake up in the middle of gold piles.
"Yeah, you lot just do your work. I'll be meditating."
"Okay, my lord. I'll send breakfast to you right away, and we'll begin working," said Tonsen.
"Hey, System, how's the storage function? How does it work?"
[It's done. You can access it from the system screen, or you can just think about the things you want to put in or take out, and it will be done.]
Let's try, then. I picked up a gold coin and thought about putting the gold inside the system storage—and it vanished.
"That's fun. Show me the screen."
A panel came into my vision. I could see a gold coin symbol with the number one below it.
Hey System, does that number show how many of the same item I have stacked?
[Yes, it does.]
What about the storage space? How big is it?
[You can stack 10 of the same item type as much as you like. For example, you can store gold coins in one place, but you can't store gold and silver in the same stack. You can, however, store them together in a money bag.]
Well, well… this function is not bad. I'm glad I gave them the right orders. I'm just too smart and an excellent leader. Let's wait for the others to finish organizing this stuff and store it later.
As for the stat points—I haven't touched them in a while. Just store them, System. I'll look at it when I go back to my little town.
I can call that place a town now. It should have walls, so I think that's okay. "Village" just sounds too… small. I need something worthy of me.
I was thinking when I heard Tonsen's voice from behind.
"My lord, food is ready. I added some berries too—I found them while we were walking." He gave the bowl to me.
"Hmm, that smells good. Thank you. You can go do your work," I nodded approvingly.
"Yes, my lord. Our work should be done in one or two hours. I will take my leave now."
I'll meditate in the meantime. I wonder how many points I earned on this outing. I feel stronger, so training should work. I did fight a lot in the end.
I closed my eyes and began meditating.
Three hours later
"My lord, we've finished everything," Tonsen woke me up.
I opened my eyes and looked around. Everything in the room had been moved to the middle and piled up.
I turned back to Tonsen and started talking. "Okay, is that everything? Did you look around for anything that might be hidden?"
"We looked around, my lord, but there was nothing special."
Hmph… and you call yourself a demigod? Is this everything you owned? Well, it's still better than me, I suppose.
I walked to the middle of the room. I could see some books, some jewelry, gold coins, and some junk from the golden golem. I also saw some closed chests.
"Did you open the chests?"
"No, they were all locked. We didn't try to force them open—just in case."
"That's for the best. This undead-loving weirdo might've put something nasty in there. It's better if I open them."
Uh, System—do I need to touch them to store them?
[No. Just get close and think about putting them in storage.]
I got close to the piles and opened my hands toward them. The other men came close to watch what I was going to do and—
[You don't need to open your arms. If you just imagine it, it will happen.]
Fuck you, System. Don't make this embarrassing. Just shut up.
I collected myself, closed my eyes, and stored everything in the storage. Then I opened my eyes again.
I heard some gasps from my soldiers.
"My lord… that was amazing!"
Everyone was licking my boots, but Casin spoke at that moment.
"My lord, we can carry our supplies easily now. But why didn't you use that before?"
Because I didn't have it—no, let's not lose face.
"That's training too. You'll be carrying everything like always."
"That's wise, my lord," Tonsen added another amazing line. I'll make you a mayor somewhere, my most trusted bald man. Good job.
"Okay, everything's fine. Let's go. We should be back in two days if we move fast."
"Yes, my lord." Everyone took their stuff and began following me.
