The battle was over.
The raging power that had once surged like a tempest had faded. The sealing was complete. Silence fell like a blanket over the chaotic battlefield, wrapping Leon in stillness.
Then—darkness.
Leon collapsed.
When his eyes opened again, the warm light of morning filtered through wooden beams overhead. He blinked slowly, feeling a comforting softness beneath him—a bed, unfamiliar yet warm.
"Leon!"
"Leon, are you alright?!"
Voices. Familiar, soothing. A pair of figures came into view, leaning over him. His parents Victor and Seraphina. Their faces were wrought with worry, eyes glossy with relief and fear. Seraphina clasped his hand while Victor gripped his shoulder.
He groaned, raising a hand to his head. His body ached, his soul even more so.
"What… happened?" he murmured, blinking.
Victor's voice was gentle but curious. "Where's that demon king, son? What happened out there?"
Leon's heart skipped. How could he explain? How could he tell them he had sealed the Demon Lord of Destruction within himself?
He hesitated, then smiled faintly. "I… don't know."
Victor frowned slightly, his brow furrowed. "Strange. It's all very confusing."
But Seraphina didn't care. She pulled Leon into a tight embrace, burying her face into his shoulder. "I don't care what happened to that demon lord," she whispered. "All I care about is that you're safe."
Leon smiled, a flicker of warmth soothing the tension in his chest.
Then he looked around, the wooden walls, the open window, the scent of fresh herbs and wood polish wafting through the air.
"…Which inn is this, Mom?"
Victor chuckled.
Seraphina beamed. "This isn't an inn, my dear."
"This is our home," they said in unison.
Leon froze. His eyes widened, glancing around again with disbelief. This—this was the home he had dreamed of, imagined for three long years.
"Our… home?" he whispered.
Victor nodded. "Yes."
Leon sat upright, a strange emotion welling in his chest. "I waited for three years… just to see this house. Mom, Dad… we'll live happily in this house, right?"
Seraphina smiled warmly. "Yes."
Victor ruffled his hair. "Absolutely."
Just then, a loud growl echoed from Leon's stomach. His face reddened.
Seraphina giggled. "You're hungry, aren't you? I prepared some food. Come down when you're ready."
Victor and Seraphina left the room.
Leon exhaled and sat up. "At last… I've arrived at the mysterious home I could only imagine in my dreams…"
His thoughts drifted to the moment before he fainted—the message from the system.
Wasn't the Demon Lord bound to my soul?
He jolted. "Status window, open!"
A translucent window bloomed into existence before him.

A voice echoed from behind him.

Leon spun around.
There, hovering in the air, was a bizarre creature—small, horned, winged, with a tail and fur like a cat. Its features were adorably goat-like, with a pouty face and stubby limbs.
"A… cat?" Leon said, bewildered.
"I am no cat!" the creature shouted. "I am the mighty Demon Lord of Destruction Infernox! The strongest among the fifty Demon Lords!"
Leon blinked.
Then laughed.
"Hahahaha! You're the demon lord?! A flying cat-goat? No one's going to believe you're the Demon King—hahahaha!"
Infernox—or rather, the pint-sized version of him—fumed. "Stop laughing!"
The door creaked open.
"Leon?" Seraphina peeked in. "We've been waiting. Are you coming to eat or not?"
"Okay, Mom! Coming!"
"Hey! Wait—!" Nox shouted.
Leon ignored him and left.
A notification bloomed in front of him.

Leon sat beneath a tree, engrossed in a book titled The Nature of Mana.
A group of kids approached.
"Hey, Leon! Come play with us!"
He shook his head. "I have to finish this and return it to the library."
One boy gasped. "You're really a genius! You learned to speak at two! And now you're reading this?! Even 7-year-olds can't understand it!"

Leon lowered the book. "...I don't know."
He walked away, whispering to himself. "Today… I'm finally five. The day I unlock my memories and my cheat skill "AUTHOR'S LEGACY."
From thin air, Nox appeared in his tiny form. "I still don't get why the gods gave you these powers and not someone like me."
Leon narrowed his eyes.He thought in his mind "Because he's bound to my soul and mind,memories and… he can even see the system!.I thought it is a cheat only i can have.This Nox bastard!"
"Hey! I can read your mind, Author! Don't talk behind my back!."
Then Nox said "It's not like i wanted to see it,i just can see that damn system!.And when i read your previous life memories,i cannot believe you read our world's past and future like an Book!,You crazy author!."
"Shut up, Nox.",Said Leon.

Leon shrugged. "I'll think about it later. First, I'm returning this book."

Nox smirked. "Indeed! Bow before me!"

"RAAAGH—I WILL DESTROY YOU!"
Leon ignored him and walked home. But something made him stop.
A majestic carriage stood outside.
Not pulled by horses—but by a unicorn.
Leon gaped. "A unicorn? Only the Twelve Great Families use them!!"
Then he remembered the kids' words." You look like a noble…"
He trembled.

"The Arcblade Family!!!!,"

Leon was afraid and stepped back.
The soldier's smile turned into an evil smile,and his voice got filled with malice.
He said "Come here kid,I would give you a painless death."
Leon said "What will i do now!."
Nox said "Hey,Do anything,but don't die,if you die,i too will get destroyed!."
Then the soldier began to walk towards Leon.
Leon said "how will i escape!."
Then Nox said "why should you escape,You have got your Skill: AUTHOR'S LEGACY!,by which you can bring any legendary item or power from your novel!,You can defeat this soldier!."
Then Leon got a sense of encourage ment and said "Ok!,Then i have no way!,Let's Fight!."
