Chapter 371 - Chapter 372: Landing on a Forbidden Island, Two Different Roars

Aeridar left the captain's quarters and went to the deck. Oliver and Mosa were already there.

About half a nautical mile away, a huge, lush island appeared before them. The coastline seemed endless, like a continent. Ancient trees formed forests, towering mountains stood tall, and the roars of wild beasts could be heard from time to time. This reminded Aeridar of his time on Kukos Island.

As the Chris approached, everyone had a bad feeling. The atmosphere on the ship grew tense, and the combatants picked up their weapons.

"Hey, Captain, look over there." When they were about a hundred meters from the shore, Oliver suddenly spoke, pointing to a beach on the right.

Aeridar looked closely. The sand on the beach was a large patch of crystalline glass, along with some that were a blood-red color. Under the sunlight, the reflection was beautiful. However, this reminded Aeridar of what Julius and the other three had told him.

Aeridar was almost certain that the 37th ship had landed here. The glass on the ground was left behind by that giant beast after it had slaughtered his men.

"Land!" Aeridar licked his lips in a bloodthirsty manner and commanded loudly.

Because the Chris was too large, it would run aground if it tried to get too close to the shore. They had to use small boats to transport the crew, equipment, and supplies to land.

Of course, Aeridar did not need to be crammed into a small boat with a bunch of people. As Oliver watched him with an envious look in his eyes, Aeridar's feet left the ground, and he flew slowly to the beach a hundred meters away.

Standing next to the glassy ground, Aeridar's face was grim. He could almost imagine the scene of his men being slaughtered by the giant beast on this beach.

After some time, Mosa came to Aeridar's side and said softly, "Captain, our people have all landed. Six hundred people are on shore, and four hundred are guarding the ship."

"Alright. Find an empty space on the edge of the forest and set up camp," Aeridar said, waking from his thoughts. "Tell everyone to be careful. It would be a disaster if they were bitten by some poisonous insects or snakes."

"Understood!" Mosa nodded and turned to give the orders.

In the clearing on the edge of the jungle, a hundred meters from the beach, the crew members were clearing weeds and leveling the ground. The large main tent had already been set up.

Whoosh!

Suddenly, a leopard more than three meters long leaped out of the bushes. Its slender body was as fast as an arrow and completely silent as it lunged at a person's neck.

"What?!" The crew member was shocked. He quickly rolled on the ground, narrowly avoiding the large leopard's attack.

"Roar~" Seeing that it had not killed the two-legged prey in front of it, the leopard let out a low snarl. The attack and the dodge happened and ended in an instant, giving the surrounding crew members time to react.

"Roar~" The leopard roared again and leaped out.

This time, the crew member did not dodge. He flipped the saber in his hand and met the attack head-on.

Pfft!

The bright blade flashed, and a splash of hot blood flew out. The large leopard was on the ground with its head and body separated, its blood staining the ground.

"Hmph! You scared the hell out of me!" The crew member shook the blood off his saber and spat on the ground.

"Oh~ Your swordsmanship has improved!" someone nearby said, looking at the leopard's corpse with admiration.

"Hehehe~ Looks like we're having a big feast tonight," another person teased.

The members of the six elite teams of the Chris Pirates were all top-notch fighters. Every member had a special skill and great strength. Those with a power level below 100 had all taken the SS potion. To these crew members, as long as it wasn't a monster-level ferocious beast, a mere wild beast was not a cause for concern.

Although this incident did not cause a big stir, it put everyone on high alert. No one knew what dangerous things might appear in the bushes next. After all, they only had one life, and once it was gone, there was no starting over.

The sun gradually set, and the camp was almost ready. The camp also had a few more corpses of wild beasts that had attacked the crew and were killed. The largest was a T-Rex that had come hunting for prey, a bonus kill. Fortunately, Oliver took care of it with a single slash, and only one unfortunate soul suffered minor injuries.

The bodies of the wild beasts were bled, skinned, deboned, and cleaned before being placed on the barbecue pit as the crew's dinner.

After sailing in the Calm Belt for several days, everyone's nerves were on edge. Now that they had reached their destination, they all relaxed a little. After dinner, everyone went to rest, except for those on watch. Without any trouble from birds or insects at night, it felt like they had just blinked, and it was already the next day.

"Mm... ah!" Early in the morning, Aeridar rubbed his eyes as he walked out of his tent and stretched. "I slept so well."

"Goowwahod... morning." Oliver, his eyes half-closed, drifted past Aeridar like a sleepwalker, holding a toothbrush and cup, yawning while speaking.

"This guy..." Aeridar's eye twitched. He was speechless.

He remembered that Oliver had gone to sleep around 8 p.m. last night after dinner. How could he still be like this in the morning? After washing up, the ship's cook had already prepared millet porridge.

Aeridar went over with a large bowl, filled it to the brim, and sat down to enjoy it leisurely.

Rumble rumble rumble~

Just as Aeridar was about to finish his porridge, a series of rumbling sounds came from the distant forest, like muffled thunder.

"Hmm!" Aeridar frowned, looking at his slightly shaking porridge. He felt a slight tremor in the ground and saw several small insects crawling away quickly, as if they were being chased by something terrifying.

ROAR!!!

Suddenly, a majestic roar came from afar.

"What's going on? Why do I feel so anxious?"

"Me too. I feel uneasy."

"This feeling is so unpleasant. What the hell is happening?"

"It feels like we're being affected by Conqueror's Haki."

The sudden muffled thunder and roar startled everyone. The mysterious roar, in particular, made the crew members in the camp feel panicked, which in turn caused a commotion.

ROAR!!!

A moment later, another similar roar was heard, but this time, it was not majestic. Instead, it was filled with panic and terror, as if it had encountered something terrifying.
