The Dire Wolves King, Yukina, and the others arrived before a colossal waterfall—far larger than any Yukina had ever seen. But this was no ordinary cascade; its roaring waters flowed crimson, as dark and heavy as blood.
With a smirk, the Dire Wolves King leaned toward Yukina. "Listen well, human girl. The waterfall before you is called the Crimson Blood Waterfall. This is no ordinary cascade… so do not dare underestimate it."
Yukina's eyes narrowed as she fixed her gaze on the waterfall. From every drop of its crimson blood-like torrent, a savage and malevolent aura surged forth—so palpable that her hidden sense and honed sensory skills screamed in warning.
The king of the Dire Wolves spoke in a deeper tone, each word heavy with ancient sorrow and pride. "The Crimson Blood Waterfall," he continued, "is not a mere waterfall. It is formed from the very blood essence of Dire Wolf soldiers, guards, lieutenants, and generals who have fallen in battle. Every drop carries their will… and their spirits."
"And each drop of these blood essences had been baptized by natural energy."
Yukina's brows furrowed, her voice tinged with bewilderment as she asked, "Natural energy? What is that? I've never even heard of such a thing."
The Dire Wolf King gave a slow, knowing nod, his eyes glinting with ancient wisdom. "It is no surprise you have never heard of it," he said, his voice deep and resonant. "To put it simply, it is the very essence of nature itself—the living energy that flows through the world around you."
"Unlike the Toad, the Snake, and the Slug clans—who wield natural energy to enhance their battle skills—we harness it to transcend our limits; in other words, we use the natural energy to evolve our talents."
Yukina's eyes snapped wide open, and she blurted out in disbelief, "Oi, oi, wait a second! It's impossible to evolve someone's talent—you're born with it! What you're saying… it doesn't make any sense!"
The Dire Wolves king chuckled softly at Yukina's stunned expression. "The Dire Wolves clan has studied natural energy for ages. We could have developed a mode like the Toads, Snakes, and Slugs, but we chose a different path."
"We chose this path because we refuse to rely on shortcuts to gain strength; our pride demands nothing less than true growth."
After a brief pause, Yukina smirked, and the Dire Wolves king continued speaking
"For the first trial, you must fully submerge yourself and be baptized in these blood essences."
"Let me be brutally honest with you, girl—your chances of surviving this trial are barely more than a whisper: about 11%. These blood essences will tear apart every cell in your body and, at the same time, forge them anew. It's a brutal rebirth… and not everyone makes it through."
"This relentless cycle will continue for some time. Should you fail to withstand the torment, death will be the only release awaiting you."
Yukina's gaze lingered on the Crimson Blood Waterfall, unflinching. A smirk tugged at her lips. "Interesting."
The Dire Wolves king smirked when he saw Yukina's fearless look and said, "however, if you are able to survive this trial, your physical potential will evolve greatly, your chakra coils will expand a lot, and your chakra will increase immensely."
Yukina's laughter rang out like the crack of thunder. "KYAHAHAHAHA! OH, THIS WILL BE SO MUCH FUN."
As her words echoed in the air, a wave of stunned silence swept over all the Dire Wolves and elders except for Saigo and the Dire Wolves king. A collective sweatdrop formed on their foreheads.
Without a flicker of hesitation, Yukina stripped her hospital garment in one fluid motion and hurled herself, bare and unyielding, into the roaring embrace of the Crimson Blood Waterfall.
Gasps and roars erupted from the Dire Wolves as their eyes widened in disbelief, their voices rising as they yelled.
"THIS HUMAN IS INSANE; AFTER HEARING OUR MAJESTY'S EXPLANATION, SHE JUMPED RIGHT INTO THE WATERFALL."
"SHE IS SEEKING HER DEATH."
All the Dire Wolves nodded in agreement, yet none noticed the subtle gleam of respect that flickered in their king's eyes as he gazed at Yukina.
A wild, unhinged smirk twisted her lips as Yukina rocketed straight into the waterfall's furious embrace.
"CRACK, CRACK."
"AAAAAHHHH."
"SPLASH."
A deafening crack echoed from Yukina's bones, the sound so raw and brutal that the onlookers shivered in horror—everyone except the Dire Wolves king and his unflinching elders
In the next instant, Yukina's scream tore through the air—a raw, agonized wail so piercing it sent an icy shiver crawling down Bright's spine.
Yukina's muscles ripped apart like tattered cloth, her bones crumbled to dust beneath her skin, and blood poured violently from every orifice, staining the air with the raw agony of her suffering
The waterfall slammed down with brutal force; she clawed at the roaring torrent, desperate to scream, but no sound escaped her lips—only the crushing silence of suffocation.
The Dire Wolves king's cold gaze never faltered as chaos erupted before him. Wordless, he settled onto the ground, silently waiting—watching to see if Yukina would survive this trial or meet her death.
"Will you survive this trial, girl... or will death claim you? Only time will reveal your fate."
When the elders and the Dire Wolves saw their king sat on the ground, they followed suit, settling beside him and fixing their solemn gazes on Yukina
Saigo fixed his gaze on the Dire Wolves king and asked, "Your Majesty, how long did it take Yamamoto-sama to conquer this trial?"
The Dire Wolves king fixed him with a steady gaze for a moment before replying,"According to my father, it took him only an hour to clear this trial. But if this girl manages to survive—and complete it—I imagine it will take her far longer. She is still but a child, after all."
Saigo grimaced when he heard this but nodded his head in understanding.

With Yukina
"Damn it… this pain—it's like a savage beast tearing through me, fiercer than any torment I endured in Afghanistan."
The blood essences surged into her veins like a storm of fire, ravaging every fiber of her being from within—tearing, burning, and reshaping her from the inside out
Her organs were shredded one by one by the blood essences ripping through her from the inside. Her chakra network unravelled like fragile threads being violently torn apart. Darkness crept in at the edges of her vision, blurring the world until it all began to slip away.
She said fiercely to herself, "Am I going to die here? No… I refuse to surrender to death. I am having so much fun in this magical world—I will survive, no matter what."
_____
Six hours later
The Dire Wolves king's nostrils flared as the faint, flickering scent of Yukina's life force slipped through the air—waning rapidly, teetering on the edge of oblivion. She was inches from death's cold grasp.
He sighed, disappointment heavy in his breath, and muttered to himself, "It seems I was wrong about you, girl. Too bad—I thought you might be like Yamamoto-dono."
"SWISH, SWISH."
Suddenly, his eyes narrowed sharply as he spotted a massive surge of blood essences converging rapidly into a single point—a dense and overwhelming life force started flaring with breathtaking speed.
The Dire Wolves king sprang to his feet, a wide grin spreading across his face.
Everyone watching the scene had their eyes wide open in shock.
The Dire Wolves king erupted into a thunderous bark of laughter, his voice shaking the very air. "WAHAHAHAHA! THIS LITTLE GIRL IS TRULY SOMETHING ELSE!"
He slowly turned his head, his voice cold and commanding as he ordered, "Rai, return to the palace at once. Command the chefs to prepare a grand feast—this human girl will be starving once she emerges."
Rai nodded his head and he quickly shunshined away.

After 45 minutes
Yukina stepped out from behind the roaring waterfall, her figure taller and more statuesque than before, her skin glowing with an ethereal smoothness, and her body showing signs that it started growing curvier.
She began to examine her body, sensing a power coursing through her veins—her strength had tripled, and her chakra felt immensely denser. Her reserves had expanded at least threefold, flooding her with newfound energy and potential.
The Dire Wolves king smiled warmly at her and asked Yukina, "How are you feeling, girl?
"GRUMBLED."
Yukina's stomach grumbled loudly, breaking the silence. The Dire Wolves king chuckled softly upon hearing it, and he looked at her in amusement.
Yukina blushed softly at his chuckle but answered his question without hesitation.
"I am so hungry I could eat a whole cow by myself."
The Dire Wolves king nodded in understanding and said, "That's normal. Look behind you, girl."
When Yukina turned around, her eyes widened when she saw the condition of the waterfall behind her.
More than half of the blood essences had vanished, and the waterfall itself had shrunk dramatically, its roaring cascade now a mere trickle.
The Dire Wolves king strode forward and stood beside her, his voice low and reverent."You've absorbed an incredible amount of blood essences... you should be proud of yourself."
"Such a feat could only be achieved through the sheer force of your indomitable will, your young age, and the brilliance of your talent."
"I have no doubt your future achievement will be limitless."
Yukina gave a soft smile and nodded to the Dire Wolves king in gratitude.
The Dire Wolves king turned sharply, his voice steady but commanding. "Girl, come—let's return to the palace. You must eat and rest for the day."
"You can start attempting the second trial tomorrow morning."
After hearing the Dire Wolves king's words, Yukina nodded silently and began to follow him toward the king's palace, her footsteps steady and a small smile tugging at her lips.
The elders and the Dire Wolves quietly trailed the pair as they made their way to the King's palace.
