Chapter 296: Allen Summons the Seven-Lantern Corps
"Eighty! Eighty! Eighty..."
Allen drove his excavator across the back of the starship bug, the bucket plunging down again and again, each strike gouging out a chunk of flesh.
The intense pain caused the starship bug to writhe and twist in agony, trying desperately to throw off the nuisance on its back.

"Just one go and I'm already full. I really am too delicate. Not like those seasoned madams who can keep working 24/7, still able to chat and laugh with clients, maybe sneak in a smoke or touch up their makeup."
The shy expression on Allen's face faded, replaced by a look of disappointment. He muttered, "If only it dropped some gear, now that would've been the icing on the cake."

"Screw your lacy black stockings and mile-long legs. You think I've never played DNF before?"
Allen scowled at the newly unlocked skill description and muttered with certainty, "That dumb author totally ripped off the Red Dog from DNF. This trash class is complete meta garbage. Blegh."
Now that he didn't need any more experience points, the insect army instantly lost its appeal.
Allen looked like a guy who walked into a shady alley and came back out in under five minutes, solemnly declaring he wasn't interested in women.
Whether or not he's being honest is beside the point—let's just talk about how fast he was.
"Farewell, babe."
As the words fell, the rainbow-colored excavator shifted back into ghost fire form. Allen waved dismissively at the insect army still trailing behind him: "No need to see me off. We're not even the same species. This can never work between us."
The next second, he burst into dazzling rainbow light and vanished into the starry void.
The insect army, now suddenly without a target, stared blankly in the direction Allen had disappeared.
---
Planet Kovar.
After suffering a humiliating defeat in the Rainbow Battle and getting caught in a war with the insect swarm, Sinestro had ordered the Yellow Lantern Corps not to interfere.
He sensed a conspiracy behind the war, a hidden hand pulling the strings. They had to wait for the real mastermind to reveal themselves before the Yellow Lanterns could move in and reap the benefits.
Meanwhile, they also had to consider the Green Lantern Corps.
What seemed like a universe-spanning catastrophe was, in Sinestro's eyes, a potential opportunity for ascension.
BEEP BOOP BEEP BOOP BEEP BOOP...
A familiar and deeply unsettling sound echoed across the sky.
The idle Yellow Lanterns instinctively reached back to shield their butts.
The long-suppressed, shameful memories came flooding back, vivid and clear.
"Come out!"
Sinestro rose into the sky, shouting to cover the panic in his heart.
As the leader of the Yellow Lantern Corps, he couldn't afford to hide or show fear in front of his subordinates—even if he desperately wanted to.
"Horse, Boar, Tiger, Rat, Ox..."
That dreadful chant echoed again.
The humiliating incantation from not long ago played once more.
Sinestro clamped his legs together in a panic, one hand covering his rear and the other guarding his chest. He forced a calm tone and said, "Allen, come on now, let's talk like adults. There's no need to make a scene."
"Okay."
Allen dropped his invisibility, revealing himself just three meters in front of Sinestro, already forming the One Thousand Years of Death pose with a smile.
"Uncle Si, did you miss me?"
"Of course."
Every moment, I'm thinking about how to kill you.
Sinestro silently added in his heart.
Allen flipped his hair flamboyantly and grinned. "Outstanding men are always on people's minds."
"…"
Sinestro adjusted his expression and cautiously asked, "Did you come for something?"
"I ran into a wild Ultraman earlier. Knocked him into red-light mode with one hit. Then I started chasing him—and happened to pass by here, so I thought I'd grab a free meal."
He quickly straightened up, voice full of righteous zeal. "Then I thought, with the universe in crisis, I should form a Lantern Corps to save the people!"
"…"
The more Sinestro heard, the worse he felt. This lunatic was here recruiting cannon fodder. Thinking quickly, he said, "You should invite the Green Lantern Corps. Their job is to protect the universe."
"I don't know where Planet OA is," Allen said with a helpless shrug.
"No problem—I can take you there."
If he could screw over the Green Lanterns, Sinestro would be thrilled.
"As thanks for your help, I invite the Yellow Lantern Corps to join the Seven-Colored Corps."
"…Huh?!"
That boomerang just smacked him right in the face.
Sinestro's face fell instantly. There was no way he wanted to get involved with this maniac.
"What's wrong?"
Allen's eyes narrowed. "Don't want to?"
"Can we… not join?" Sinestro asked awkwardly.
"You seriously don't have a shred of justice in you?"
Allen pressed his hands together into the One Thousand Years of Death stance and solemnly declared, "As Lanterns, if you lack a sense of duty, I'm ashamed to be associated with you. Prepare to face justice!"
"Stop!"
Seeing Allen raise that cursed pose again, Sinestro's already receding hairline retreated a few more centimeters. He frantically backpedaled, trying to reason, "No need to be so rash! I meant we can join in name and leave later!"
"Really?"
Allen shot him a look of deep suspicion.
"Really." Sinestro nodded sincerely.
Like hell he had a choice. Better to suffer a little than let the Yellow Lantern Corps go through another unforgettable "sunflower moment."
Play along with the madman now. If things go south, just retreat—even if it means abandoning the base.
Soon, under Sinestro's orders, the Yellow Lanterns gathered in the sky.
Though they glared at Allen with hatred, none dared show it.
In front of them all, Allen solemnly proclaimed, "Intelligent lifeforms have been selected. Yellow Lanterns—you possess the power to spread seven-colored justice across the universe. Welcome to the Seven-Colored Corps."
He raised both arms high, releasing seven beams of light. A green one rose from beneath his waist.
Of course, this was just a speech. There was no actual ring recruitment process.
Allen just thought it looked cool and made things seem more official.
