At that moment, hearing what Oliver just said but still feeling the weight of everything that had just transpired, Cora started looking at him with this mixture of curiosity and lingering worry in her eyes. She tilted her head slightly, studying his face like she was trying to read between the lines of his confidence.
"Well, I really don't want Penelope to disgrace me in front of everyone," she said slowly, her voice still carrying traces of the anxiety she had been feeling.
"I know her better than most people, and I know exactly how cruel and vindictive she can be when she wants to destroy someone. That's why I'm feeling very, very curious about how you plan to pull this off, and that's why I really don't want us to fall into whatever elaborate trap she might be setting for us." She paused, searching his eyes for more reassurance.
