At that moment, seeing Abigail's father still on his knees and hearing what he just said to Oliver, Mr. Jackson couldn't believe his ears.
His entire face twisted in disbelief as he stared at the man kneeling like a beggar in his house. His jaw clenched. His fingers curled into fists at his sides. The air in the living room turned thick. The maids froze. Robert's expression went from confusion to rising irritation. Lisa folded her arms and tilted her head, watching it all unfold.
Mr. Jackson's voice broke through the tension like a whip.
Then he repeated his words again. "What is going on here? Why are you on your knees and why are you begging him? What is going on here?"
His voice shook with confusion. He wasn't just asking for answers he was demanding them.
