Chapter 70 - Ch.70: Memory Burns Brighter

Chapter 70 – "Memory Burns Brighter"

> "Before the end, they remembered not who they were—

but why they burned."

---

Scene 1 – "Stall Pattern"

The battlefield is chaos.

Reen, Gift, Dion, and Matthew fight in a rhythm

Reen: "We don't beat it. We can't. We just hold it long enough."

---

Scene 2 – "Avatar Remembers Too"

The Root Avatar glitches—flashes of its ancient trauma ripple through its body.

> Narrator: "Even monsters remember what made them."

It screams in distortion—not rage, but broken memory. It grows faster, more brutal.

---

Scene 3 – "Memory Flash: Reen"

Quick cut: a young Reen, alone in a burned grove, swearing she'd never run again.

Flash back to now—she holds firm, glyphs bursting behind her fists.

---

Scene 4 – "Memory Flash: Dion"

Flash: Dion at his mother's grave, whispering he'll never let others fall like that again.

Back in present—he throws himself at the Avatar, recklessly.

---

Scene 5 – "Shatterpoint"

The Root Avatar breaks through the formation—

SLAM.

Reen is thrown across the battlefield.

Dion is stabbed, then hurled down.

> Narrator: "The stall fails. But the memory holds."

---

Scene 6 – "Interception: Gift and Matthew"

The Avatar swings toward the fallen Reen and Dion—

BLOCK! Gift and Matthew appear like ghosts from grief.

Gift: "Over our dead bodies."

---

Scene 7 – "Gift's Flame"

Gift channels his own trauma—slicing faster than before.

He's there one moment.

Then there another.

He doesn't speak. He remembers.

And the Avatar feels that.

Twelve precise slices. The Avatar feels it and it shrieks in pain.

---

Scene 8 – "Matthew's Crescendo"

Matthew sings.

No words. Just tones that counter-glitch the Avatar's stolen memories.

A memory-battle in sound. It stalls the Avatar—briefly.

Suddenly;

SLAM!

The Avatar jolts but that was a surprise.

> Narrator : "Sometimes even a calm spirit, is broken by the love for their friends."

---

Scene 9 – "Maiku Ascends"

Elsewhere—the True Root Body lumbers toward the merging point.

Maiku launches skyward—Sky-Fire wrapped around his fists like gods in orbit.

> Narrator: "Some battles are not fought for survival.

They are fought to buy time."

---

Scene 10 – "Sky-Fire Fiststorm"

Maiku rains fire-punches from above—each one burning grief-root tendrils to ash.

The Body wails—not like a being—but like a dying forest.

Ten punches—gut, jaw, stomach, hand and leg.

---

Scene 11 – "Avatar Pushes Through"

Gift tries to slash.

Dodge.

Pinned and then...

SLAM!

Gifts hits the hard ground and loses a tooth.

The Avatar beats Gift down—his blade falters. His grip lost.

Matthew roars. The Avatar jumps in and punches.

Matthew falters—coughs up blood.

He drops.

His body feels weak.

Motionless.

Awake but motionless.

Root Avatar: "Stalling is over."

---

Scene 12 – "Memory Flash: Gift's Father"

Gift blinks back to the past.

Gift as a child—listening to his father whisper:

Gift's father: "The heart remembers. Even when the mind breaks."

Back in real-time—he gets back up.

---

Scene 13 – "Matthew's Stand"

Matthew, barely alive, smiles.

Matthew: "This is a good final verse."

He stands beside Gift.

---

Scene 14 – "The Final Stall"

The two of them unleash everything—Gift does it.

FLASH!

Cuts imprint on the Avatar. Everywhere.

Matthew with one final Echo-hymn.

It doesn't kill the Avatar.

But it slows him.

Just enough.

---

Scene 15 – "Maiku's Flameblow"

Maiku lands one last fire-laced punch—a meteor blow—shattering the Root Body's skull.

The True Root Body explodes into fire, roots, and weeping bark.

---

Scene 16 – "Jakku Rises"

From ash and silence—

Jakku: "I promise! This is the end of you!"

Jakku leaps—he slices.

He cuts.

Six vital slashes.

IT'S NOT ENOUGH.

Jakku walks forward, bloodied, glowing.

> Narrator: "He has one Flash left.

And it was not for survival.

It was for endings."

---

Scene 17 – "The Final Flash"

FLASH!

Jakku launches—light explodes across the field—

He slices.

And slices again.

Again.

Again.

Again.

JAKKU : "Die!"

300 feet of the Root Body is cut into ribbons—

Legs—ripped apart.

Hands—sliced to nothing.

Head—beheaded.

every part severed.

He ends by tearing its core with one flash-arc of divine wrath.

> Narrator: "Conviction made blade. Memory made light."

---

Scene 18 – "The Fall"

The Avatar collapses.

Jakku too.

Jakku (whispering): "...told you... not yet."

He falls. Into coma. Into legend.

---

Scene 19 – "But One Root Remains"

In the silence, the Avatar—dying—sprints toward the dead True Root Body.

It leaks sap.

Acidic sap.

The Avatar see's something.

It must grab it before it's burnt away.

It grabs it.

It's something small—

A seed.

And runs into the wilderness, broken but not finished.

---

Scene 20 – "Afterburn"

The battlefield is quiet.

Reen wakes.

Gift coughs.

Maiku kneels beside Jakku's still body.

The sky clears—blue.

Normal.

The question begs ?

Is it gone?

Or is it resting ?

> Narrator : "They killed the Root.

But not the future it had just planted."

TO BE CONTINUED...

> Narrator (Closing Monologue):

"Memory is not gentle.

It wounds deeper than blade, lasts longer than flame.

And on this night—

memory became the battlefield.

They did not stand because they were strong.

They stood because something inside them still remembered

why they couldn't fall.

Reen held through fire.

Dion dove through pain.

Gift carved through illusions.

Matthew sang to stall death.

Maiku turned grief into flame.

And Jakku—

Jakku burned himself into legend.

The Root Avatar fell.

The True Body shattered.

But war is not a single body,

or one voice screaming.

War is what survives the silence.

And somewhere in the ash,

a single seed remained.

A memory unborn.

A future uncertain.

So the Root was not ended—

only paused.

And those who held the line?

They did not win a war.

They bought tomorrow."
