Chapter 336 - A Pig Teammate

Over a thousand soul masters launched a full encirclement and massacre against the Nine Treasures Glazed Sect's disciples.

Although the Nine Treasures Glazed Sect fought back using soul tools, the sheer disparity in numbers meant that within a short time, casualties mounted rapidly.

Watching his sect's disciples fall one after another into pools of blood, Ning Zhiyuan's face twisted with grief.

He then glanced beyond the barrier.

Outside, the allied soul masters never ceased their attacks on the formation—yet the group of Titled Douluo stood by idly, calm and unmoving, steady as old dogs.

At that moment, Ning Zhiyuan understood.

Those bastards were waiting for him and this bunch of mud-leg peasants to fight each other to mutual destruction—so they could swoop in and reap the rewards.

But knowing this changed nothing.

The situation had already spiraled beyond his control. One wrong move, and the Nine Treasures Glazed Sect could be completely annihilated.

Heavenly Court might look weak—

—but that depended on who they were compared against.

With their top-tier experts tied down, the Nine Treasures Glazed Sect was no match for Heavenly Court.

Watching his clansmen fall one after another, Ning Zhiyuan felt as though his heart were being carved apart.

Soul power surged into his throat as he shouted at the top of his lungs:

"Brothers and sisters of Heavenly Court!Huo Yuhao colluded with soul beasts in an attempt to overthrow the human race—his crimes are unforgivable! Do not make the same mistake again and again, do not help a tyrant commit evil!"

"Look outside! You are already surrounded! Stop now, immediately—I guarantee your personal safety. Turn back while there's still time!"

No one cared about the first accusation.

No one here was an idiot. Believing that Huo Yuhao colluded with soul beasts would be laughable.

But the latter words caused hesitation.

Indeed—surrounded on all sides. Were they really going to be buried along with Heavenly Court?

Many people wavered.

After all, most had only joined Heavenly Court for about a year. They were here for soul-ring upgrades and the Underworld Realm.

As for loyalty or belonging?

That was pure nonsense.

A Soul King–level executive had been hacking away at Nine Treasures Glazed Sect disciples with abandon.

But after hearing Ning Zhiyuan's words, he hesitated.

He stopped pursuing his target and instead glanced sideways at his comrades.

In his mind, mere surrender wasn't enough.

He needed to earn merit—otherwise he'd still be purged later.

If things went well, he might even defect to the Nine Treasures Glazed Sect afterward.

But his subtle movements didn't go unnoticed.

Before this opportunistic executive could act—

His head was severed by a single blade.

The world spun.

The last thing he saw was a headless corpse collapsing to the ground.

The clothes looked oddly familiar.

Only then did his consciousness fade entirely.

A young man holding a long saber kicked the corpse aside.

He was a Soul Saint from the Inspection Hall.

"Anyone who speaks of rebellion—kill without mercy."

His voice was cold, murderous intent written across his face.

Elsewhere, Inspection Hall members moved through the battlefield, executing anyone who caused disturbances.

Most people had already made up their minds—

—but very few dared to step forward.

If you wanted to rebel, timing mattered.

Right now, the allied forces outside couldn't enter, and the Nine Treasures Glazed Sect couldn't be relied upon either.

Anyone who jumped out now would be surrounded and hacked to death in seconds.

The battle between the Snow Empress and the Sword and Bone Douluo had already moved high into the sky.

Nine Treasures Glazed Sect disciples were precious—collateral damage was unacceptable.

Likewise, the Snow Empress didn't want her battle's aftermath to harm Heavenly Court members.

By tacit agreement, both sides fought in the air.

The Sword Douluo was in dire condition.

His hair was disheveled, robes torn in multiple places, his body riddled with more than a dozen wounds.

Extreme cold had already invaded his body.

Even a Rank 98 Sword Douluo was in this state—

The weaker Bone Douluo needed no further mention.

The gap between Rank 97 and Rank 99 was not something a single hundred-thousand-year soul ring could bridge.

Imperial Palm — Great Cold Without Snow!

The Snow Empress forced the Sword Douluo back with a strike, seized the opening, and unleashed a palm strike she had been charging for a long time.

Her fair, slender hand appeared gentle as it landed on the Bone Douluo's body—

—but only the two of them knew just how terrifying the power truly was.

The Bone Douluo was sent flying backward.

Mid-air, he spewed massive mouthfuls of blood mixed with shattered organ fragments.

His face instantly turned deathly pale.

His body traced a parabolic arc through the air—

—and slammed heavily into the ground.

Ning Zhiyuan, who had been watching the aerial battle, was horrified.

Protected by a Soul Douluo and several Soul Saints, he rushed to the Bone Douluo's side.

"Elder Gu! How are you?! Don't scare me!"

Ning Zhiyuan knelt down, hands trembling.

The Bone Douluo's eyes were wide open, as if they were about to burst from their sockets.

His wrinkled old face was devoid of all color.

Blood and shattered organs covered his chin and chest.

"Elder Gu! Wake up! Where are the healing-type soul masters?!"

No matter how Ning Zhiyuan shouted—

There was no response.

He was dead.

Didn't even have time to leave final words.

In truth, lasting this long against the Snow Empress was already something worth pride.

She was a nine-hundred-thousand-year soul beast—her strength had unquestionably reached quasi-divine level.

The Snow Empress could make countless mistakes.

The Bone Douluo only had one chance.

"AAAAH! You beasts! Heavenly Court! I swear eternal enmity with you!"

Ning Zhiyuan roared toward the sky, eyes bloodshot.

The Bone Douluo wasn't just the Nine Treasures Glazed Sect's guardian—

He was the one who had watched Ning Zhiyuan grow up.

In his heart, Ning Zhiyuan regarded him as his own grandfather.

Watching a loved one die before his eyes—

How could he not rage? How could he not hate?

High above, the Snow Empress's expression turned cold.

While exchanging blows with the Sword Douluo, she freed one hand and flicked her finger.

A streak of sword qi shot downward toward Ning Zhiyuan.

Bad!

The Sword Douluo turned pale.

Without regard for himself, he threw the Seven Kill Sword, intercepting the attack just in time and shattering the sword qi.

But focusing on one end meant leaving the other exposed.

The momentary distraction gave the Snow Empress her opening.

A strand of extreme-cold sword qi slashed across his chest.

In an instant, a bone-deep wound split open from his right shoulder to his left abdomen.

The sight was horrifying.

On the other battlefield, the situation wasn't much better for the Flame Phoenix Douluo.

Although the Ice Empress, Shui Miaoyun, and Shen Yan were all injured—

Ending the fight quickly was completely impossible for him.

The Nine Treasures Glazed Sect had originally fielded over nine hundred disciples.

Now, fewer than five hundred remained.

Corpses lay scattered everywhere, flesh mangled, blood soaking the ground.

Most were Nine Treasures Glazed Sect members—

—but many Heavenly Court members lay dead as well.

Sticky blood coated the stone floor, the stench rising into the air.

Some people were so terrified by the hellish scene that their legs gave out.

They dropped to their knees and began vomiting—

Only to have their heads severed moments later.

Nearly three thousand soul masters had clashed.

Over seven hundred were already dead.

At this moment—

Human life was worthless.

The Bone Douluo's death sent the Sword Douluo into a frenzy.

But he had no ability to turn grief into power.

Instead, with the Bone Douluo gone and himself grievously injured from that moment of distraction
