~Rhiannon's POV~
"Why don't you try the sapphire one next, dear?" the middle-aged woman who introduced herself as Jill suggested, draping another armful of gowns over the fitting room door. "I think it'll complement your complexion beautifully."
I picked up the stack of fabrics from her. There was silk, satin, and velvet, each one more luxurious than the last.
The crimson gown felt bold and heavy with intention, but I couldn't help but wonder about the others, too.
Slipping into the sapphire gown, I adjusted the straps and studied my reflection. The fabric was cool against my skin, flowing like water, and the colour did look good on me.
But my mind was churning with questions I couldn't quite shake.
Why all this fuss? Why so many gowns? Kael had been cagey about where we were going, and it was starting to grate on my nerves.
