After we pick out some fancy dishes—well, mostly Jiang choosing whatever sounds "sweet" or "cheesy"—the waiter comes back, gracefully pouring wine into our glasses.
I awkwardly lift mine. "Well… here's to your first step out in the human world. And… our first date, I guess."
Jiang lifts his glass too, eyes sparkling like a kid with juice instead of wine. "Cheers! On my phone too!"
"Huh?"
Before I can stop him, he whips out his phone and snaps a photo of our clinking glasses. "Cheers on phone! Memory saved!"
I groan, hiding my face behind my glass. "Ugh… you're such a weirdo."
He beams, proudly sipping his wine like he's the king of dates.
…Oh god, he even takes another photo of me sipping mine.
This boy is hopeless.
I raise an eyebrow at him, swirling my glass. "Wait, is it even fine for you to drink?"
He tilts his head and grins, tapping his wristband proudly. "Oh yes! My wristband removes all toxic effects. No drunkness for me."
