Though she lived in the countryside, her fair skin and stylish clothing made her look more like a city woman, completely devoid of any rustic air typical of rural women.
"Ma Kai's wife, the police are looking for Ma Kai. Do you know where he is?" the village chief asked the woman, his gaze reflecting a glint of greed.
