Len hummed with a smile. "Our elders want to pick another Alpha for the pack. We might have gotten quite desperate since death has become an alternative to a mere demotion."
Gwendolyn's mouth dropped open in shock. She then laughed in derision. "Who are they going to replace you with? You have done more than enough for them, yet they still want more? Who do they want to be your replacement? Can he carry the pack on his back the way you had?"
