The next day, early morning.
The alarm on Ethan's phone jolted him awake from sleep. Almost simultaneously, he reached towards his chest, breathing heavily.
He couldn't remember when he had fallen asleep. The prepared .45 pistol had slid onto the wooden floor. He quickly checked the magazine, and the bullets were still full.
Ethan glanced around in a daze.
Everything in the bedroom was as usual, with no signs of intrusion, and no bullet marks on the walls or closets.
Was it a nightmare?
Ethan carefully recalled the events in the nightmare. First, the Time Traveler broke into his home, then he raced to the committee district, where behind that door, he confronted the existence called the God of Truth by the followers—a massive white light sphere, omniscient and omnipotent amid the stars.
Setting aside the horror movie-like scenes in the first half, the encounter in the latter part resembled the visions described by the followers of truth.
