The dial seemed to be some sort of verification device. Employees would receive a prompt each day and then press one of four colored buttons. They had to do this once in the morning and once in the evening.
If they pressed the wrong button or failed to press it, their superiors would assume there was an issue with the employee.
Zhang Hehua gave a bitter smile, a thought becoming increasingly clear in her mind: "I seem to have been caught up in a major conspiracy."
She replayed it once more in her mind, feeling an intense fear toward the terrifying intellect of the mystery person.
With just a few words, the other side had guided her step by step onto a single-log bridge over a bottomless abyss, where one wrong move could lead to eternal damnation.
Only now did she belatedly realize, but she no longer had a way back.
