Chapter 29 - 29. You can always trust Great Xia People

Dongling Park.

In order to monitor the movements of the crow group, the monitoring team sent by Liren conducts a patrol with drones every quarter-hour.

Half past five in the afternoon.

A drone swiftly approached the Crow's Nest following the predetermined patrol route.

The operator held a cup of hot tea, sitting casually in front of the monitoring screen.

Most of the time, the crow group showed no changes, and the patrols merely wasted the drone's battery and lifespan.

The operator even felt that dedicating several personnel to monitor a group of crows seemed somewhat excessive.

Given the tight manpower at Liren now, is it really worth having a few people watch screens all day just because Mr. Spirit Crow is a superpower user?

The operator glanced at the screen with the corner of his eye and murmured, "Waste!"

After a few seconds.

The drone automatically identified abnormal information, suddenly hovering in the air, and then turned its camera toward a patch of snow.

A line of large characters written in the snow instantly captured the operator's attention.

The operator had just taken a sip of hot tea, and caught off guard by the large characters, he was startled and accidentally choked.

"Cough! Cough!"

This guy was so choked that tears came out.

But he didn't bother to wipe them off, quickly shouting, "Report... cough... Mr. Spirit Crow has sent a message."

A lieutenant quickly came over and glanced at the screen.

He immediately saw eight characters—"Ice will melt, poisonous mosquitoes are coming."

The lieutenant paused and blurted out, "Impossible!"

He continued, "I remember the supercomputer had conducted simulations projecting the cold weather to last at least two months, possibly up to three months."

The operator coughed a few times and said tactfully, "Mr. Spirit Crow is a superpower user."

The implication was clear—as this is obviously an unusual event, the words of a superpower user are naturally more credible.

The lieutenant understood the nuance in the statement and was momentarily stumped.

This officer thought for a moment and ultimately said, "Alright, let's report this then."

The operator responded, "Understood!"

The lieutenant sighed, "If it really is poisonous mosquitoes, it's definitely a major issue, I'm afraid the entire Liren will be frantic."

The operator furiously typed away, echoing, "Yes indeed."

He promptly reported the information, saying, "Done!"

Suddenly, this guy felt that perhaps it's not entirely unreasonable to expend so much manpower and resources for a group of crows.

Shangjing City.

Secret Base.

The Mermaid soaked in the pool, only revealing a stunning face while watching the large screen unblinkingly.

Displayed prominently on it was a mosquito.

Its entire body was black and brown, its slender mosquito legs were patterned, and its sharp blood-sucking mouth had a faint blue sheen.

Beside the mosquito was a human hand for comparison.

In comparison, the mosquito's body length was close to the length of a middle finger, about six to seven centimeters.

General Lou's voice echoed, "Before Canglan Star descended on Primordial, the world's largest mosquito was the emperor mosquito with a body length of nearly five centimeters.

"Now this record has been broken, a larger mosquito has recently emerged in the Tintera Kingdom on the other side of the planet.

"Canglan People have named this mosquito 'Giant Poisonous Mosquito' because they contain quite strong toxins.

"Even a healthy adult is at a very high risk of death if bitten by more than twenty poisonous mosquitoes.

"According to..."

The Mermaid didn't bother to listen any longer and interrupted, "You want to know if there's a risk of Giant Poisonous Mosquitoes spreading, don't you?"

General Lou nodded, "Yes, please enlighten us, Miss Jana."

He added, "Although we have implemented many strict isolation measures, like enhancing quarantine and halting flights, we are still very worried."

The Mermaid chuckled, "Your concerns are very justified, and I can tell you clearly that no matter how strict the measures, they're useless."

General Lou's face changed, unable to help but ask, "Why?"

The Mermaid explained, "The root cause of the Giant Poisonous Mosquitoes' emergence is not the genetic mutation that Canglan People understand; it can be seen as a curse from the Primordial World."

General Lou frowned, "A curse?"

The Mermaid smiled, "The curse merely started in the Tintera Kingdom, and it will eventually spread to every location on Canglan Star, and the Giant Poisonous Mosquitoes will follow."

General Lou looked astonished, "Inconceivable."

He asked a sharp question, "Why does the Primordial World want to curse us?"

The mermaid remained silent for a moment and replied, "No one can answer that question."

She subtly shifted the topic, "The giant poisonous mosquito is the first crisis faced by the Canglan People, Great Xia should prepare early."

General Lou nodded, "I understand."

Just as he was about to ask the next question, he suddenly heard urgent footsteps behind him.

General Lou turned to look and saw an officer walking over with a document.

The officer lowered his voice, "General, Linjiang City has sent an urgent message related to the poisonous mosquitoes."

Upon hearing the term "poisonous mosquitoes," General Lou quickly took the document and began reading it carefully.

He read the report thoroughly, staring for a long time at the photo titled "Ice and snow will melt, poisonous mosquitoes will come," his expression slightly subtle.

The mermaid giggled softly, "Does the General seem troubled?"

General Lou briefly explained the situation.

The mermaid lightly swished her tail, creating slight waves, "Linjiang City? Is it that beast tamer again?"

General Lou nodded and then asked, "Miss Jana, what is your opinion?"

The mermaid first asked, "When exactly did the first giant poisonous mosquito appear?"

General Lou replied, "According to traceable records, the earliest was eighteen days ago."

The mermaid then said, "Bring one of your Canglan Star globes over, let me take a look at the geographical location of the Tintera Kingdom."

General Lou gestured with a turn of his head, "Go get the globe."

Quickly.

A globe with a diameter of one meter was brought to the edge of the pool.

The mermaid observed for a while, then asked a few questions.

Only then did she give her conclusion, "Canglan Star is currently in the first phase of descent. The spread of the poisonous mosquito crisis won't be too fast."

"Great Xia is separated from the outbreak point by half a planet. Personally, I judge that it will take at least a month before the giant poisonous mosquitoes appear in Great Xia."

General Lou breathed a sigh of relief, "Miss Jana, thank you very much for your guidance."

The mermaid let out a soft "hmph," "I've seen many weak superpower users, but weak ones who like to stir up trouble are quite rare."

General Lou smiled awkwardly but said nothing.

The counterpart is from a powerful civilization and always has a condescending attitude towards Great Xia People, he often hears such words.

Half an hour later.

The routine lecture ended.

General Lou strode out of the underground cave where the pool was located.

"Bang!"

A two-meter thick metal door closed behind him.

As a side note.

Locking the mermaid underground with such a thick metal door was not because Great Xia People treated her as a prisoner, but her own requirement.

General Lou suddenly stopped and turned to the accompanying general, asking, "Major General Zhang, what do you think of Mr. Spirit Crows' suggestion?"

Commander Zhang replied, "General Lou, Miss Jana isn't too optimistic about the Canglan Star's superpower users, but I think we should trust our country's superpower users."

General Lou's gaze was sharp, "Whether Miss Jana looks down on us is her own business, but we can't act on impulse."

Commander Zhang's tone was firm, "My grandfather participated in the war. When I was young, he told me one thing: in crucial moments, you can always trust Great Xia People."

General Lou's worn face showed a smile, "Well said!"

He said softly, "Mr. Spirit Crows must have detected some subtle clues to conclude 'Ice and snow will melt, poisonous mosquitoes will come.'

At the critical moment, this highly ranked general ultimately chose to trust the Great Xia People.

Commander Zhang agreed, "I think so too."

General Lou continued, "I will personally report to the Supreme Governance Team to formulate measures to deal with the giant poisonous mosquitoes as quickly as possible and implement them promptly."

Commander Zhang nodded heavily, "Even if Mr. Spirit Crows predicted wrongly, it's never a bad thing to be prepared."

General Lou hesitated for a moment and ordered, "Since the information came from Linjiang City, you should go to Linjiang City and stay for a while."

Commander Zhang saluted again, "Understood!"

Yue Bay District.

Late night.

Yang Fan is preparing to go out.

He was putting on clothes and guessed, "Mosquito larvae live in water, what was found in Tan Lake during the day is likely mosquito eggs."

"It's freezing cold outside now, yet my superpower senses that the mosquito eggs are accelerating their incubation, which clearly doesn't make sense."

"The only explanation is that they must have sensed that the climate is going to change and thus made such a choice."

Yang Fan took out a black hat from the Space Pearl and sighed, "As a Great Xia Person, since I've discovered the crisis, I can't ignore it."
