Hig tried to break free from Lorenzo's grip, but Lorenzo was evidently much stronger than him, and Hig couldn't move.
"Hello." Yawei said with a smile.
"You... hello." Hig said awkwardly.
He was somewhat of an introvert, or perhaps timid, and he didn't like interacting with these people. From the demeanor of Yawei and Selyu, it was clear to him that they were destined to be people from different worlds. Sometimes this courtesy felt like the pity of the upper class towards the lowly, making him uncomfortable.
"What do you do for work?" Yawei asked casually.
"Mechanician." Hig said, although he had been fired from the factory.
After quitting hallucinogens, Hig had been taking on odd jobs to make ends meet. After all, he was a mechanician, and in this mechanical city, there would always be a place for him.
Though he earned less than before, he had more leisure time.
Yawei nodded; being a mechanician sounded far more respectable than being a demon hunter.
