When Shu Lulu called out "Mom," Chu Ge only felt a "buzz" in his head. His body gave a jolt, hands trembling slightly, and he nearly flung the spatula from his grasp. Swallowing hard, he hastily shut the kitchen door.
"Click, clack, click, clack"
In the hallway, the sound of high heels tapping against the floor rang out, followed by the entrance of a slender woman with flowing rose-red hair. She wore a light blue shirt and bore a striking resemblance to Shu Lulu. Her long legs were encased in white stretchy pencil pants, and she carried a delicate gift box in hand.
The woman was, of course, Luo Suyun. She had called Chu Ge several times before but always received replies that he was either inconvenient or not home.
Despite her visits being repeatedly declined by the "uncle" her daughter mentioned, Luo Suyun felt no irritation. Instead, she admired the man's noble character, a veritable good Samaritan seeking no return.
