The little boy's home is not far from Hubu Alley, about a ten-minute walk, yet it's in a slum area, surrounded by low brick houses. Luo Chao sighed inwardly, thinking that no matter how prosperous a city is, there are always impoverished places.
"That's my home," the little boy pointed to a dilapidated red brick house not far away and said.
Luo Chao carried him over, but as soon as he approached, he heard cursing and things being smashed inside the house.
"You damn woman, playing dead, huh? Get up and get the hell out, or I'll tear down this house and crush you, and don't blame me for it!"
Luo Chao frowned, noticing the word "demolition" written large on the houses in this slum area. This neighborhood was set for demolition. It seemed deserted as if everyone had moved away. But why hadn't the boy and his mother left? Could they be what people call "nail houses"?
"They're here again!" the little boy said through gritted teeth, his eyes filled with hatred.
