Home sweet home ch38
When Krow awoke his eyes he saw two kids standing in front of him it was his sisters kids."woahhhhh uncle Krow is awake now get em!!" Shouted Kyle. As the water pistols the water poured all over krows face completely waking him up out of his slumber. He got up and ran after the kids!" Ahhh come here you little buggers!!!" Said Krow chasing after Kyle while Sadie laughed in the background." Hey hey enough playing around go get ready for school." Said Cindy his sister. "Those kids really love you, you know" said Cindy looking directly at Krow
It felt like she was staring into his soul directly while she said it. Hitting him in the deepest part of his albeitly small heart." Don't worry I will always keep them safe." Said Krow reassuring his sister. While the kids rushed to get out of the house and his sister got them to the bus."bye uncle Krow!!!" Said Kyle waving bye and so did Sadie as they went in the bus with Krow and Cindy by the doorstep. Eventually though the bus drove past and now it was just him and Cindy. "See the thing is-" and before she could finish her scentence the police pulled up. The same officers and everything just what could they possibly want." Are you krowun visor?" Said the police officer looking like he had some troubling news."yeah that's me…" said more regrettably.
"Well you were on Melissa's will and well I'm sorry to tell you but she's gone. It was a crazy accident she got ran over by a car. The body is in the morgue now." Said the police officer handing Krow the keys to her apartment and offering his condolences and walking away. She was dead? Just like that there's no way she was dead. That cop just offered the news so nonchalant is this how they always handle situations there's no way. This is ridiculous there's no way that just happened. Overcome by emotions overcome by stress Krow genuinely fell over almost passing out on the spot."hey Krow Krow! Can you hear me are you alright!" Said Cindy offering her arms wrapped around him now.
" she's dead Cindy Melissa is actually dead." Said Krow it felt like a knot had been tied to his throat completely like a vocal cord that was now out of tune. The turning wheels on a cog that was rusted trying to turn completely. All he could do was nothing. Strangely enough he wasn't even sure of what to feel at all. This honestly and completely caught him by surprise though he needed to know now. He needed to know what was in Melissa's apartment. He needed to know now. Trying to regather the strength in his legs." Don't worry I will be fine don't worry about me Cindy you know I'm no good at funerals do you think you could help me with it. Outside of the agency I was probably still her closest person you know." Said Krow with sweat going down his forehead.
"Don't worry take your time Krow I know how you are if you need space or to go somewhere I'm right here when you get back." Said Cindy. Krow always loved that side of her the sweet side that could truly comfort any man and make him feel valued." Thank you Cindy genuinely." Said Krow and after he said that wiping the sweat off his forehead. Krow ran as fast as he could. He ran to Melissa's apartment in desperate search for a clue a hint or something pointing in the right direction as to where things went wrong as to what the truth was of everything going on.
It felt like he was constantly just getting more questions then awsners and it didn't make any sense at all he felt like. Why did she have to die!? If it should've been anyone it should've been a deadbeat like him she had a successful career at the agency not like him who got fired and collected unemployment checks and lived off the governement feeling like an utter loser most of the time. Feeling all these things thinking all these things as he ran his way towards her apartment inching closer and closer. Now he arrived there just feet away from the door step. All he had to do was go up a few stairs and there he was. He could still remember coming over here for dinner a couple times. The warm smile that Melissa used to display before it all happened.
He could still remember all of the positive happy memories that he had with everyone else. He remembered it all still like it was just yesterday even though it had been years. He still felt stuck or lost of what to do after the agency. Here he was again coming back to someone from the agency the only person left he could truly call a friend anymore from their. Now standing at the doorway of her apartment. With the almost broken wooden door and cobwebs in the crevices he took a deep breath and opened the door.
