**Chapter 406: Misunderstanding**
As the two argued, they suddenly heard a commotion not far away. Looking over, they saw that someone was having a Pokémon battle.
One of the Trainers in the battle happened to be Brock.
Brock was using Steelix, while the opponent was using a Golem of similarly huge size.
"Steelix, Iron Tail!" Brock commanded.
Hearing this, Steelix raised its tail, which shone with a metallic luster, and swung it fiercely towards the opponent.
"Golem, Mega Kick!" the opposing Pokémon Trainer simultaneously called out.
Golem lifted its thick legs, like stone pillars, and kicked towards Steelix.
Boom!
With a loud crash, both Pokémon retreated simultaneously.
The Pokémon Trainer battling Brock was a young man about his age, with white hair streaked with yellow highlights, wearing shorts and a grey jacket, and also sunglasses.
Bai Feng and Ash Ketchum walked over and softly called out to May and Max, who were watching the battle.
"May, Max."
Seeing Bai Feng and Ash Ketchum, the two were surprised.
"Uncle Bai Feng, Ash Ketchum!"
"Ash Ketchum, did you finish registering already?" May asked.
Ash Ketchum said sheepishly, "No, there were too many people at the Jubilife City Pokémon Center. Uncle said he'd take me back to Biyi City to register."
May nodded.
"What's going on here? Weren't you going to catch a Buneary? Why are you fighting?" Bai Feng asked, puzzled.
When this was mentioned, Max immediately got angry. "Uncle Bai Feng, you don't know, that idiot on the other side is too detestable..."
Max then recounted how they met the opposing Pokémon Trainer.
Because there were too many Pokémon Trainers trying to catch Buneary nearby, the usually common Buneary suddenly became very hard to find.
The three of them spent a lot of effort and finally found a Buneary in some Grass. May immediately issued a challenge to it.
That Buneary was quite bold and actually accepted the challenge very proudly. However, although it looked appealing, it was actually weak in battle and was blown away by May's Beautifly's Silver Wind, immediately tumbling on the Ground.
Seeing that it couldn't win, Buneary turned and ran. Seeing this, May and the others chased after it.
Just like that, one ran and one chased. After a while, a Poké Ball suddenly fell from the sky, accurately hitting Buneary and catching it.
At this moment, a young man walked out, who was the same young man currently battling Brock.
Because of this Buneary, the two sides got into a fierce argument. May said they found it, while the young man said he found it. It eventually escalated into a match.
The two sides agreed: whoever won would get the Buneary!
While Ash Ketchum and the others were talking, the match between the young man and Brock also ended with a winner.
Brock walked over dejectedly and apologized to May, "I'm sorry, I lost. I couldn't get the Buneary back."
Although May was disappointed, she comforted Brock, "It's nothing. We can just catch another one. There are plenty of Buneary."
Hearing this, Brock felt a little better.
"It's too much! That guy, we clearly found the Buneary, but he insisted he found it!" Max said resentfully.
"Alright, later I'll take you to other places in Sinnoh to look. There are too many people catching Buneary here too," Bai Feng said, stroking Max's head.
"Really?" May said in surprise.
"Of course." Bai Feng nodded. "But we need to take Ash Ketchum to register first. He's probably getting impatient waiting."
There was no need to rush the matter of catching a Buneary.
"Hehe~~~" Ash Ketchum rubbed the back of his head and chuckled foolishly upon hearing this.
"Then let's hurry up and go."
So, the group found a secluded corner and returned to Biyi City through a Summoning Circle.
However, what they didn't know was that the Pokémon Trainer who took the Buneary met another Buneary not long after separating from them.
This Buneary made a face at him as soon as they met. This strange temper made the young man instantly realize that he had made a mistake. This was the Buneary he had been chasing, and the one currently in the Poké Ball must be the Buneary found by others.
The young man's name was Gordie. He was the Gym Leader of Stow-on-Side in the Galar Region, a Pokémon Trainer skilled in the Rock type.
Stow-on-Side has two Gyms: a Rock type Gym where Gordie serves as the Gym Leader, and an Ice Type Gym where Gordie's mother, Melony, serves as the Gym Leader.
Gordie's mother, Melony, is a very powerful Pokémon Trainer in the Galar Region. Therefore, under his mother's guidance, Gordie always received an elite education, but he resolutely chose the Rock type that he liked, instead of following the path of mastering the Ice Type like his mother.
He wasn't catching Buneary for himself, but for his younger Sister at Home.
Gordie has three younger brothers and one younger Sister.
His Sister watched Bai Feng's competition via live television broadcast and also fell in love with Buneary, so she called him and asked him to catch a Buneary in Sinnoh and bring it back.
He spent quite a while finally finding a Buneary, but unexpectedly, this Buneary was very cunning and played tricks on him for a long time, leading him around everywhere.
When it ran through some Grass, he decisively threw a Poké Ball, and then he also went through the Grass and saw the Buneary caught inside the Poké Ball.
He thought he had caught the Buneary he had been chasing, which is why he got into a conflict with May and the others. He even felt that May and the others were being unfair, claiming the Buneary he had chased for half the day was the one they found first.
Now it seemed he had been tricked again; the Buneary he was chasing was still here!
Thinking of this, Gordie felt very guilty, feeling that he had stolen someone else's Buneary, and decided that the next time he saw them, he must apologize!
Thinking this, he went back to chasing that cunning Buneary, vowing to catch it!
Fortunately, although that Buneary was cunning, it was still just a Wild Pokémon, and Gordie eventually caught it.
Having obtained two Buneary, Gordie began searching around the Pokémon Center, hoping to find May and the others to return the Buneary.
Meanwhile, Bai Feng and the others had already arrived at the Pokémon Center in Biyi City.
As Bai Feng expected, although there were also Pokémon Trainers registering for the tournament at the Biyi City Pokémon Center, there weren't many people, and Ash Ketchum didn't even need to queue.
"Please hand over your Pokédex," Nurse Joy said gently to Ash Ketchum.
"Okay!" Ash Ketchum quickly handed his Pokédex to Nurse Joy.
Nurse Joy placed Ash Ketchum's Pokédex on the Operating Console and, after some operation, completed his registration.
Then Nurse Joy asked, "We now have the new version of the Rotom Phone. Would you like to replace your old version?"
The Kalos Region's Rotom Phone was jointly researched and developed by Lysandre Labs and the Pokémon League. It had now been implemented in various other League Branches. The ones currently at the Pokémon Center were the first batch, first version.
"Replace it, replace it for him!" Bai Feng didn't ask further and directly said to Nurse Joy.
"As expected of a big spender, I understand," Nurse Joy, who was quite familiar with Bai Feng, joked.
Replacing the new version naturally required money.
"Oh, and replace them for these two as well," Bai Feng said, pointing to Brock and May.
"Huh?" Brock and May looked surprised. "Maybe not for us?" May said.
"Replace them all. The new Pokédex definitely has more complete functions!" Bai Feng said.
"Then we'll pay ourselves!" Brock said.
Bai Feng stopped them. "I'm an Elder here, how can I let you younger ones spend money?"
Seeing Bai Feng's firm attitude, the two stopped refusing.
Soon, Nurse Joy completed the version replacement of the Pokédex for Ash Ketchum and the others, transferring the information they had collected in the old Pokédex to the new ones.
"Oh, and the Rotom Phone, would you like to install it?" Nurse Joy continued to promote.
The Rotom Phone was also a product of Lysandre Labs. Bai Feng had actually suggested Lysandre develop it back then.
In fact, the Rotom Phone had been researched long ago, but the number of Rotom was insufficient, making it difficult to promote this achievement on a large scale.
In recent years, Lysandre Labs had cooperated with the Pokémon League to cultivate a large number of Rotom, which is why they took advantage of the start of the Pokémon World Championships to promote it.
"Install them for all of them." As a big spender, Bai Feng wanted to show the demeanor that matched his identity, so he waved his hand grandly and said generously.
Seeing this, Nurse Joy couldn't help but cover her mouth and chuckle.
Soon, the Rotom were also installed, and a talking mobile phone hovered beside each of the three.
The three Rotom had different natures. Brock's was steady, May's was quiet, and Ash Ketchum's was lively and noisy.
Max looked at the three's Rotom Phones with envy. "I really want to become a Pokémon Trainer quickly!"
Bai Feng rubbed his head and said, "Then grow up quickly."
Coming out of the Pokémon Center, Ash Ketchum rubbed his hands together excitedly and said, "Uncle, hurry and send me to Jubilife City! I'm already bursting with excitement!"
"Alright, alright!" Bai Feng said helplessly.
Then he found a secluded place and opened the Summoning Circle.
"Remember to call me to pick you up when you finish your challenges," Bai Feng instructed.
"I know!" Ash Ketchum readily agreed, then looked at May and Brock and said, "Do you want to come with me?"
May and Brock both shook their heads.
"I still want to go catch Buneary with Uncle Bai Feng," May said.
"I'll go, I'll go!" Max raised his hand excitedly.
"Okay, then just the two of us will go," Ash Ketchum said, putting his arm around Max.
"Huh? Max, aren't you coming with me?" May asked in surprise. They were siblings traveling together and hadn't been separated yet.
"But I want to watch Ash Ketchum's battles," Max said.
"Go ahead, it's fine," Bai Feng said. "Ash Ketchum, take good care of Max."
Ash Ketchum patted his chest and said, "No problem. Besides, isn't Gallade also with us? Gallade, right!"
"Gallade~ Gallade~" Don't worry, I'll take good care of Ash Ketchum and Max.
Gallade nodded.
Bai Feng patted Gallade's shoulder helplessly. "You've worked hard all this time."
Over the past few years of traveling, if it weren't for the steady, smart, and capable Gallade accompanying him, Ash Ketchum would have taken who knows how many detours.
"Gallade~ Gallade~" It's not hard, I like traveling with Ash Ketchum.
Gallade said.
"Alright, hurry up and go, and come back soon," Bai Feng said, patting Ash Ketchum and Gallade.
Gallade nodded, carrying Pikachu on its shoulder and holding Ash Ketchum and Max by the hand, and stepped into the Summoning Circle.
After Ash Ketchum and the others left, Bai Feng said to Brock and May, "We've been running around for so long, how about we go Home and rest for a while before going to catch Buneary?"
"Okay, okay!" May readily agreed. She was actually already tired.
"I have no objection," Brock said. Losing to Gordie, he was actually still a little disappointed.
He knew Gordie and knew that he was also a Rock type Gym Trainer, which made him feel even worse.
"Then let's go!" Bai Feng found a secluded spot and took May and Brock Home.
Not long after Ash Ketchum and Max returned near the Jubilife City Pokémon Center, they were indeed found by Gordie.
"Hey, you two!" Gordie called out to them.
"It's you!" Max glared angrily and said sarcastically, "What do you want now? We don't have a Buneary for you to steal."
Just then, the Rotom Phones on both Gordie and Ash Ketchum rang with a notification.
"A tournament participant is nearby. Would you like to issue a challenge?"
"A tournament participant is nearby. Would you like to issue a challenge?"
Hearing this, Gordie and Ash Ketchum looked at each other in surprise.
Then Gordie smiled and said, "I came to apologize to you. Everything before was a misunderstanding."
So he told Ash Ketchum and Max about the mix-up.
Ash Ketchum and Max were not people who would hold a grudge after understanding the matter. Naturally, the misunderstanding between them and Gordie was resolved after understanding the matter, and the three immediately started talking and laughing.
"I'll return this Buneary to you," Gordie said, handing a Poké Ball containing a Buneary to Ash Ketchum and Max.
However, he used a little trick. The one he returned was not the one May and the others had initially chased, but the mischievous one he had chased himself.
He thought his younger Sister was still too young and might not be able to handle this troublemaker, so he gave the troublemaker to Ash Ketchum and the others.
Seeing this, Max pulled Ash Ketchum aside and quietly turned around, whispering, "Ash Ketchum, what do you think about me taking this Buneary into Foster Care?"
Foster Care refers to the situation where a child who hasn't reached the age of ten yet gets a Pokémon companion early. This Pokémon is usually registered under the name of an Elder until the child grows up, at which point the Pokémon is officially transferred to the child's name.
In the original work, Bonnie's Dedenne was in this exact situation.
"Huh?" Ash Ketchum said in surprise. "Not for your Sister?"
"Oh, Sister is going to catch another one anyway, so what does it matter if I get this one?" Seeing that everyone else had Pokémon, Max had long been "impatient" to get one himself.
"Okay... okay," Ash Ketchum nodded. "What you said makes sense too."
Just like that, that Buneary fell into Max's hands.
Then Ash Ketchum had a match with Gordie. The two talked happily and unknowingly became good friends.

Chapter 407: Disaster
Ash Ketchum was excitedly battling Pokémon Trainers everywhere, while Bai Feng, May, and Brock leisurely returned Home. The three of them first drank some tea together, then went to their respective rooms to rest.
Bai Feng and May took a half-hour nap. When they woke up, they found that Brock wasn't Home.
"Audino, where's Brock?" Bai Feng asked.
"Tabunne~ Tabunne~" He just went out, he should be outside. Audino replied.
"Got it." Bai Feng nodded, then said to May, "Let's go look for him."
May nodded.
The two searched around the mountain and finally, guided by a Fletchling, found Brock on Fangyuan Mountain. He was with his Steelix and Steven Stone's Steelix, clearly asking for the secrets of special training.
Although Steven Stone's Steelix wasn't his main Pokémon, its strength was still great, so teaching Brock's Steelix was no problem at all.
"Brock!" Bai Feng called out to Brock, "We're going to catch a Buneary. Do you want to come?"
Brock shook his head and said, "I won't go. I want to stay here and do special training with Steelix."
Although Brock's goal wasn't to be a Pokémon Master, he still valued his own strength highly.
Bai Feng guessed that he might be bothered by the battle he lost earlier, so he didn't force him, only saying, "Alright then, you do your special training. May and I will be back soon."
"Okay~"
"Then May, let's go."
With that, Bai Feng opened the Summoning Circle and walked in with May.
However, as soon as they exited the Summoning Circle, May shivered from the sudden cold wind. Immediately, Bai Feng draped a thick cotton coat over her.
Looking at the majestic mountain in the distance, May asked doubtfully, "Uncle Bai Feng, where are we?"
Putting on a thick coat himself, Bai Feng explained, "This is the Mountain base of Mt. Coronet, the highest peak in Sinnoh. Look, Hearthome City isn't far away—the Hometown of Champion Cynthia!"
"Wow!!!" Hearing Bai Feng's introduction, May looked at Mt. Coronet, then at Hearthome City, and couldn't help but exclaim.
"Alright, let's start looking for Buneary. There are many Pokémon living at the Mt. Coronet Mountain base, so finding a Buneary shouldn't be difficult."
"Okay, okay!" May said eagerly.
Bai Feng released Delphox again. As soon as Delphox came out, waves of heat spread out from it, and Bai Feng and May instantly felt much warmer.
May put her hand on Delphox, stroking its soft, smooth, and warm fur, and said with a sigh, "It's so comfortable."
Delphox didn't seem to mind May's actions. Instead, it looked at her with a smile, then looked at Bai Feng and said, "Mahou~ Mahou~"
Bai Feng said helplessly, "Alright, alright, I know!" With that, he took out a Poké Ball and released Zorua.
As soon as Zorua came out, it happily jumped into Delphox's embrace.
"Zoro~ Zoro~"
Bai Feng shook his head helplessly, "There's really nothing I can do about you two."
Delphox and Zorua had the best bond, staying together all day. Bai Feng couldn't help but indulge them.
Seeing this, May also released her Torchic.
"Let's go!"
Then, Bai Feng and May, along with Delphox, Zorua, and Torchic, started searching around.
Just as Bai Feng had said, there were indeed a large number of Pokémon at the Mt. Coronet Mountain base. After only a few steps, they encountered a Pachirisu.
Looking at the Pachirisu that ran past quickly, May exclaimed, "What a cute Pokémon!"
Her Rotom Phone, using its excellent snapshot technology, introduced: "Pachirisu, the EleSquirrel Pokémon, Electric type. It belongs to a species similar to Pikachu. Although its nature is gentle, touching its electric tail and cheeks is dangerous."
"So it's called Pachirisu. It ran too fast, otherwise catching it would have been great too." May sighed.
Bai Feng smiled and said, "Let's keep looking. There are many more Pokémon."
Sure enough, after only a few more steps, May and the others successively encountered the cute Bibarel, the cool Luxio, the lively Buizel, and the smart Glameow.
The Rotom Phone was extremely busy, constantly taking photos of various Pokémon to record, lighting up a string of entries in May's Pokédex.
May wasn't picky and wanted to catch any of them, but unfortunately, Torchic wasn't strong enough. It couldn't even defeat one Pokémon. They didn't catch any Pokémon, and Torchic itself got beaten black and blue.
"Chamo~ Chamo~~~"
Torchic buried its head in May's arms, crying sadly, while May kept comforting it.
"Alright, alright, be good, don't cry anymore."
Bai Feng said helplessly, "May, your Torchic is a little too pampered."
May said awkwardly, "It... it's still too young."
Bai Feng said, "May, caring for Pokémon is a good thing, but spoiling them too much isn't good."
With that, he took Torchic from May's arms and fed it a bite of G-Max Sweetness. Instantly, Torchic's injuries recovered completely.
"Wow, that's amazing!" May exclaimed in surprise.
Then Bai Feng gave Torchic a rejuvenation for a while. Torchic hummed comfortably, but Bai Feng stopped when it was most comfortable.
Torchic: ()???
Keep going! Keep going! Why did you stop?
Bai Feng smiled and asked it, "Want to continue?"
Torchic nodded quickly.
"Then go battle bravely. If you win a battle, I'll continue!" Bai Feng said.
"Chamo~~ Chamo~~~"
Hearing this, Torchic darted out of Bai Feng's arms like a wisp of smoke. Its small eyes darted around, clearly searching for traces of wild Pokémon. May had never seen it look so energetic.
"So... so amazing!" May was dumbfounded. She didn't expect Uncle Bai Feng to make Torchic seem like it had changed its personality with just a few words.
Bai Feng explained with a smile, "Sometimes, to get Pokémon to listen to you, appropriate incentives or encouragement are very effective methods. A little trickery is harmless, but it can enhance the bond between you and your Pokémon."
"I learned something, thank you Uncle Bai Feng!" May said seriously.
"You're welcome," Bai Feng smiled.
Soon, Torchic found another wild Pokémon, a Stunky.
Torchic was startled by Stunky at first and turned to run away, but remembering Bai Feng's promise, it immediately stopped and confronted Stunky.
"Chamo~ Chamo~~"
It cried out loudly, trying to make itself look fiercer, but the effect was minimal.
Seeing this, May quickly stepped forward and commanded, "Torchic, Ember!"
"Puff puff puff~~~"
Hearing this, Torchic immediately spewed a barrage at Stunky. Flame after flame shot towards Stunky.
Stunky wasn't a pushover. It twisted its rear and sprayed a puff of smoke, using Smokescreen.
Stunky desperately swung its large tail, stirring up a gust of wind. Immediately, the Smokescreen all drifted towards Torchic.
Torchic's Ember and Smokescreen collided, immediately causing a strong explosion. Torchic was instantly blown away.
"Torchic, you can do it, don't be afraid, you can do it!"
Hearing May's encouragement, Torchic scrambled up from the ground and then used Quick Attack to charge towards Stunky.
Stunky couldn't dodge in time and was ultimately knocked away. It twisted its rear and suddenly sprayed a blast of foul odor, nearly suffocating Torchic.
"Chamo~ Chamo~"
Torchic was dizzy and disoriented in the foul smell.
By the time the foul odor dissipated, Stunky was nowhere to be seen.
Seeing that Stunky had run away, Torchic was very disappointed. It felt like it was about to win if it had just pushed a little harder.
May rushed over and picked up Torchic. "Torchic, you were amazing! We almost won just now!"
Hearing this, Torchic puffed out its chest proudly, inexplicably feeling a bit more courageous.
Sure enough, after bravely battling Stunky, Torchic gradually stopped resisting and fearing battles. Then, it successively battled Pokémon like Burmy, Bronzor, Magnemite, and Chingling, winning some and losing some.
Unknowingly, the two and the Pokémon had arrived directly below Mt. Coronet. What was strange was that they had encountered so many Pokémon, yet they hadn't found a single Buneary, even though it was supposed to be a very common Pokémon.
"Let's go, let's look somewhere else," Bai Feng said to May.
"Okay~" May nodded.
Actually, she didn't necessarily have to catch a Buneary; other Pokémon would be fine too. She had only said she wanted to catch a Buneary because she was following the trend, but up until now, she hadn't seen a Pokémon she particularly liked.
As the two walked, they suddenly heard a roar and a hiss. They followed the sound and saw a Garchomp battling a Dusknoir on the Snow Mountain.
There was nothing unusual about two wild Pokémon battling, but the commotion they caused was too great, triggering an avalanche. On the Mt. Coronet Mountain top, countless amounts of snow cracked and rolled downwards. The snow from above crashed into the snow below, and for a moment, it felt like the world was falling apart.
"Uncle Bai Feng!!!" May's face turned deathly pale.
Bai Feng patted her and said, "It's okay, don't be afraid, I'm here!"
With that, Bai Feng used Psychic to directly carry May and the Pokémon into the air.
The temperature near Mt. Coronet was already low, and the higher they flew, the colder it got. Furthermore, the rolling snow from the mountain brought down a large amount of cold air. May couldn't help but shiver while holding Torchic.
From high above, Bai Feng could clearly see countless Pokémon fleeing for their lives under the collapsing snow. Even the flying Starly, Staravia, and Staraptor couldn't escape the disaster.
Bai Feng quickly opened the Summoning Circle. The next second, Mother, Da Meng, and Er Meng appeared beside him.
"Mother, you take care of May. Da Meng and Er Meng, come with me to stop the avalanche," Bai Feng said seriously.
"Shana~" Don't worry!
Saying this, Bai Ye took May and Delphox and flew away from the direction of the avalanche.
The two Mewtwo also knew the situation was urgent and nodded without hesitation.
Bai Feng simultaneously performed a mental power link with the two Pokémon. Immediately, they flew towards the avalanche, enveloped in purple radiance.
Just as the avalanche was about to bury a large group of Pokémon, Bai Feng and the two Mewtwo arrived in time. The collapsing snow was like hitting a pause button, stopping mid-air.
Large amounts of snow were still rolling down from behind, but as long as it rolled towards Bai Feng and the two Mewtwo, it would be held suspended in mid-air by him and the two Mewtwo.
"Hurry up and go!" Bai Feng gritted his teeth and said to the Pokémon below.
"Coo coo coo~~~"
"Chirp chirp chirp~~~"
"Quack quack quack~~~"
...
Hearing this, the Pokémon looked gratefully at Bai Feng and the two Mewtwo, then immediately took off running.
One male Staraptor, fleeing for its life with its mate and child, kept looking back at Bai Feng, finally matching Bai Feng with the person in its memory.
Unfortunately, it wasn't the time for reminiscing. To protect its mate and child, the Staraptor could only fly forward desperately.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Large amounts of snow fell, but were intercepted halfway by Bai Feng and the two Mewtwo. The snow piled up in the sky, like a mountain.
From a distance, May looked at Bai Feng, who was almost completely covered by the snow and asked worriedly, "Bai Ye, Uncle Bai Feng will be alright, right?"
"Shana~ Shana~"
Bai Ye patted May's shoulder. Although May couldn't understand Bai Ye's words, she felt inexplicably reassured.
After who knows how long, the avalanche finally stopped, leaving only huge piles of snow levitating in the air, controlled by Psychic.
Bai Ye called out to Delphox, then took May and flew towards Bai Feng's location.
Bai Ye and Delphox exchanged glances, instantly understanding what they needed to do. Delphox drew circles in the air with its wooden staff, and Bai Ye also drew circles in the air with her finger.
The next second, surging flames poured out from the circles drawn by the two Pokémon, spraying towards the snow in the air.
Two streams of Mystical Fire coiled around the snow like giant snakes. The fire snakes licked at the snow piles, and the snow began to melt rapidly.
As the snow was melting, heavy rain began to fall.
To prevent the melted snow water from causing floods, Bai Feng also used summoning to bring out Lapras and had it perform Gigantamax, freezing all the snow water.
After who knows how long, all the snow was melted, revealing Bai Feng, Da Meng, and Er Meng who were covered by the snow. They were enveloped by a Psychic Barrier, preventing them from being burned by the flames.
At this moment, Bai Feng's face was pale, and he looked very uncomfortable. Seeing this, Da Meng quickly used Psychic to support him.
Although it and Er Meng had also used up a considerable amount of energy, they were still much better off than Bai Feng.
They slowly descended towards the ground, finally stopping on top of the snow water frozen by Lapras.
"Coo coo coo~~~"
"Quack quack quack~~~"
"Chirp chirp chirp~~~"
...
Suddenly, Bai Feng realized he was surrounded by countless wild Pokémon. They were all looking at him with grateful eyes.
If Bai Feng and the two Mewtwo hadn't intervened in time, they would have been buried under the snow. In such a situation, even Ice-type Pokémon would have found it difficult to survive.
Feeling everyone's fervent gazes, Bai Feng, with a pale face, greeted them, "Hello everyone!"
"Mukuho~ Mukuho~~"
Just then, two Staraptor, bringing a few Starly, landed beside Bai Feng.
(End of Chapter)
# Chapter 408: After the Avalanche
Seeing this Staraptor, a flash of inspiration struck Bai Feng, and he suddenly remembered something.
"Are you that Staraptor?"
Back when Bai Feng and Unfezant were climbing Mt. Coronet, they encountered a Staraptor competing with Unfezant for a mate. Later, that Staraptor even led the way for him.
"Staraptor! Staraptor!"
Seeing that Bai Feng recognized it, the Staraptor was very happy.
Looking at the other female Staraptor and several Starly next to the Staraptor, Bai Feng smiled, "You even have a wife and kids now!"
Hearing this, the Staraptor puffed out its chest proudly.
"Staraptor! Staraptor!"
"You're asking if Unfezant has a wife and kids?" Bai Feng asked in surprise.
"Staraptor!"
The Staraptor nodded.
Back then, its wife was initially interested in Bai Feng's Unfezant, but unfortunately, that guy was clueless about romance and ended up driving away all its suitors, which gave the Staraptor its opportunity.
Seeing the Staraptor's smug look, Bai Feng found it quite amusing, so he shook his head and said, "No, it's not as good as you."
Hearing this, the Staraptor became even more proud.
The Pokémon that had gathered thanked Bai Feng and then gradually dispersed. Only the Staraptor family remained.
"Why aren't you leaving?" Bai Feng asked, puzzled.
"I'll lead the way for you. What are you doing here? Are you looking for a certain place or something?" the Staraptor asked.
Bai Feng was confused, "How did you become so enthusiastic?"
"Uh... uh..." Hearing Bai Feng's words, the Staraptor fidgeted, "If I help you, will you give me food?"
Because the Staraptor had led the way for Bai Feng before, Bai Feng had given it many berries.
As it said this, the stomachs of the entire Staraptor family rumbled. For a moment, both Staraptor and the several Starly blushed.
Before Bai Feng could answer, the Staraptor loudly added, "Of course! You saved us, so even if you don't give us anything, I'll still help you!"
Bai Feng chuckled, "Alright, would I ever let you go hungry?"
Just as Bai Feng was about to take out some food to fill the Staraptor family's stomachs, suddenly two roars came from a snowdrift not far away. A Garchomp and a Dusknoir soared out of the snowdrift and started battling again.
The avalanche actually didn't do anything to these two culprits? How lucky!
Seeing these two Pokémon, Bai Feng was very annoyed. If it weren't for them, how would an avalanche have happened here?
"Da Meng, Er Meng, teach them a good lesson!"
Da Meng nodded, "Okay!"
Er Meng responded, "Got it."
Over there, Garchomp and Dusknoir were about to collide, using Dragon Claw and Shadow Punch respectively.
Just then, Da Meng and Er Meng flashed down from the sky, appearing in front of Garchomp and Dusknoir respectively. They extended a hand towards their opponents, instantly controlling them with Psychic.
"Garchomp~"
"Dusknoir~"
The two Pokémon struggled violently, but the next second, the two Mewtwo threw them out with Psychic.
Boom!!!
Garchomp crashed into an ice rock, shattering it.
Dusknoir smashed into the deep snow and was buried by it.
However, the two Pokémon quickly flew up again. At this point, they had lost their senses and didn't even know why they were fighting.
Da Meng flashed above Garchomp. Ice-cold energy overflowed from its fist, and the next second it smashed Garchomp on the head with Ice Punch.
Garchomp let out a cry of pain and fell downwards, plunging into a snowdrift unconscious.
At the same time, Er Meng also flashed next to Dusknoir and launched a Dark Pulse.
Dusknoir crossed its arms, trying to block Mewtwo's attack, but it greatly underestimated Mewtwo's strength. It was directly knocked headfirst into the snow by the Dark Pulse and couldn't get up again.
Not long after, Da Meng and Er Meng returned to Bai Feng's side, each carrying Garchomp and Dusknoir.
Dusknoir didn't seem to have any major problem; it was just unconscious. Garchomp's injuries, however, were more serious. It had a huge wound on its abdomen; Bai Feng could even see its internal organs through the wound.
"Da Meng, did you injure this?" Bai Feng asked, pointing at Garchomp's wound.
"Not me," Da Meng shook its head.
"Could it be Dusknoir?" But Bai Feng didn't think so; Dusknoir didn't seem capable of causing this type of wound.
"Forget it, I won't think about it."
Then Bai Feng took out a pile of berries and placed them in front of the Staraptor family, "Here, eat first. I'll treat Garchomp's wound."
Although Garchomp and Dusknoir caused the avalanche, almost leading to irreversible consequences, he couldn't just stand by and watch Garchomp die.
He took out items and potions and treated Garchomp's wound. The unconscious Garchomp twitched all over from the pain.
After treating the wound, Bai Feng fed both it and Dusknoir a bite of G-Max Sweetness.
After a while, the two Pokémon slowly woke up, still a bit confused about the situation.
The Staraptor was very angry and yelled at the two Pokémon. Only then did the two Pokémon realize that their battle had caused a terrible avalanche, and they felt very guilty.
They had lost their senses during their previous battle, which was why they seemed so crazy.
"What exactly is going on with you two? Why were you fighting for no reason?" Bai Feng asked.
Speaking of this, Dusknoir became very angry. It was minding its own business at Home when Garchomp suddenly charged in and started fighting it fiercely.
Garchomp looked bewildered. It actually didn't remember what happened during the battle. It was too heavily injured before, its mental state was unclear, and it unconsciously mistook Dusknoir for an enemy. Charging into Dusknoir's Home was also accidental.
"Why did you get such serious injuries for no reason?" Bai Feng asked, puzzled.
Garchomp scratched its head sheepishly.
Actually, it originally lived in a Tribe and had a childhood friend. It always had a goal: to be with its childhood friend when it grew up.
But unexpectedly, its childhood friend ended up falling for a Haxorus. Because of this, it got angry and fought a battle with the Haxorus.
It was embarrassing to say, but it lost to the Haxorus and suffered serious injuries as a result. Seeing its childhood friend and the Haxorus being affectionate, it left the Tribe in a fit of pique, planning to wander. It eventually flew all the way to the vicinity of Mt. Coronet.
However, its injuries were too severe, and it might have unconsciously mistaken Dusknoir for a love rival, which was why it fought fiercely with Dusknoir.
After hearing Garchomp's story, Dusknoir looked disdainful. Losing to a love rival was indeed too embarrassing.
Bai Feng patted Garchomp's shoulder and said, "There are plenty of fish in the sea; why fixate on just one? I believe you will definitely meet a Dragon Pokémon in the future that you like and who likes you back! You're so handsome, there's no reason you can't find a girlfriend."
Garchomp was deeply moved by this. Bai Feng not only healed its injuries but also comforted it like this; he was simply its confidant.
Since the misunderstanding was resolved, Dusknoir planned to go Home. But just as it flew up, it suddenly let out a cry of surprise.
"Dusknoir~ Dusknoir~~~"
"What's wrong?" Bai Feng asked.
"Dusknoir~ Dusknoir~" Look at that!
Hearing this, Bai Feng and the others immediately flew up and were surprised to find a huge Cave on the distant cliff face. That area was originally covered by endless snow, making it impossible to see that there was such a huge Cave under the snow.
"Could it be some Ruins?" May asked.
Bai Feng shook his head, "It could also just be a normal Cave."
"That's true," May nodded, "So, should we go take a look?"
"Of course," Bai Feng joked, "Maybe there's a Pokémon you like inside, you never know~"
"Okay!" May nodded.
Bai Feng turned to Dusknoir and said, "Dusknoir, where is your Home? Can Garchomp rest there for a while? What happened before was a misunderstanding, it definitely won't cause trouble again."
Although Garchomp's injuries were mostly healed, because of the long delay before and the aggravation during the battle with Dusknoir and the avalanche, its body was still very weak and needed rest.
This icy and snowy environment was very unfavorable for Garchomp's recovery. It needed a peaceful environment.
Dusknoir looked hesitant.
"Garchomp, you'll be good, right?" Bai Feng looked at Garchomp and asked.
"Mhm mhm mhm~~~" Garchomp nodded frantically.
"Alright then," Dusknoir reluctantly agreed.
So, Bai Feng and the others took Garchomp to Dusknoir's Home first.
Dusknoir's Home was a deep, dark Cave. The interior was spacious and warm, a good place to shelter from the wind and snow.
"Staraptor, you guys wait for us here too. If we catch any Pokémon, we won't need you to lead the way," Bai Feng said to the Staraptor family.
The Staraptors nodded obediently.
After arranging the Pokémon, Bai Feng sent his Mother, Da Meng, and Er Meng back Home. Only then did he set off with May, Delphox, Zorua, and Torchic.
The moment they stepped into the Cave, Bai Feng and May instinctively shivered. They were already dressed warmly enough, but they still felt frozen.
"It's so cold! Colder than outside," May instinctively hugged Torchic tighter.
Seeing this, Delphox gently flicked the wooden staff in its hand. Flames immediately burned on it, and the severe cold was instantly dispelled.
"Delphox, thank you," Bai Feng said gratefully.
"Delphox~" You're welcome.
Delphox shook its head.
The two walked deeper into the Cave. Their feet were entirely on thick ice.
After walking for who knows how long, Bai Feng and the others didn't find anything special in the Cave. It was just ice and more ice.
Zorua and Torchic had already gotten down from Delphox and May's arms and were chasing each other in the Cave.
"Chirp chirp chirp~~~"
Torchic was having fun and excitedly chased Zorua, constantly spitting Ember. However, Zorua ran very fast, and Torchic couldn't catch up.
The Ember landed on the ice surface, melting many parts of it into pits.
Just then, May suddenly pointed at a piece of ice that Torchic had melted halfway and said to Bai Feng, "Uncle Bai Feng, look at this!"
Bai Feng walked over to look and saw a stone appear on the ice surface. The stone had a pattern that looked like bones.
"This... could it be a fossil?" Bai Feng said, stroking the stone.
"Fossil?" May asked, puzzled.
"Yes, it's a stone formed when ancient Pokémon were buried deep underground for a long time and accumulated over countless years," Bai Feng explained.
It wasn't strange for Pokémon fossils to be found on Mt. Coronet.
"Oh, I see!" May suddenly understood.
Bai Feng thought for a moment and said to Delphox, "Delphox, try melting the ice here, but don't melt it all."
Melting it all might cause a collapse.
"Delphox~ Delphox~"
Delphox nodded and gently waved its wooden staff. In an instant, surging flames erupted. Seeing this, Bai Feng quickly used Psychic to protect May and the other Pokémon.
High temperatures melting ice would definitely produce water vapor. Without Psychic protection, they would instantly become soaked.
As the ice melted and the water vapor dissipated, a large number of stones with patterns appeared before Bai Feng and the others.
"Wow, so many fossils!" May exclaimed.
"This is truly a great discovery!" Bai Feng also said, filled with amazement.
Bai Feng thought for a moment and said to May, "I'll make a telephone call to Professor Oak."
May nodded. Having traveled with Ash Ketchum for a while, she also knew Professor Oak, although she had only met him via video call.
Bai Feng dialed Professor Oak's telephone number. Soon, Professor Oak's voice came from the other end.
"Hello, is that Bai Feng? Slurp slurp~~~"
There was also the sound of him eating instant noodles.
"Professor, are you eating instant noodles again?" Bai Feng said speechlessly.
"It's convenient," Professor Oak said, "Never mind me, why are you calling?"
"Professor, I've found a lot of Pokémon fossils here. Would you like to come take a look?"
As soon as Bai Feng finished speaking, he heard the sound of a bowl falling to the ground from the other end of the telephone, as well as Professor Oak's cry of surprise.
"Ow! My noodles!!!"
"Professor, are you alright?" Bai Feng quickly asked.
"I'm fine, I'm fine!" Professor Oak said, "Where did you run off to wander this time, kid?"
"I'm on Mt. Coronet," Bai Feng replied.
"Mt. Coronet, huh? Quickly teleport me over!" Professor Oak said impatiently, "You kid, you always give me surprises!"
"Okay, please wait a moment."
Saying that, Bai Feng opened the Summoning Circle. Not long after, Professor Oak walked out wearing a lab coat, with a large patch of brown soup on his chest.
As soon as Professor Oak came out, he shivered from the cold. Seeing this, Bai Feng quickly took out a robe for him to wear. Fortunately, he was well-prepared.
"It's really cold!" Professor Oak shivered, but when he saw the ground full of fossils, he instantly became full of energy, "Let's quickly dig up a few and take them back to revive them and see what kind of Pokémon fossils these are!"
The Fossil Revival Machine had been researched a long time ago, and Professor Oak's Laboratory also had one.
With Bai Feng's help, Professor Oak quickly obtained several relatively complete fossils.
Bai Feng and May helped the Professor transport the fossils to the Research Institute.

## Chapter 409: Professor Oak's Gift
As soon as they returned to the Research Institute, Professor Oak couldn't wait to put the several fossils into the Fossil Revival Machine.
Reviving fossils takes some time, so Bai Feng and May chatted with the Professor for a while. When Professor Oak learned that May wanted to catch a new Pokémon, he generously said:
"May wants a new Pokémon? I have some here! What kind are you looking for? I'll see if I can help you find one."
May said sheepishly, "Actually, I don't really know. I originally wanted to catch a Buneary, but I haven't been able to find one."
"Is that so..." Professor Oak pondered for a moment before saying, "I'll take you to the Courtyard to have a look. Recently, I received a batch of Pokémon from the Alola Region from Chengye. See if any of them catch your eye."
The Chengye that Professor Oak mentioned was his cousin, Professor Chengye Oak, currently the Principal of the Alola Pokémon School and also a renowned researcher of regional forms of Pokémon.
Due to academic exchanges, the two brothers often trade Pokémon.
"Would that be alright...?" May hesitated.
Professor Oak waved his hand cheerfully, "It's fine, it's fine. You discovered so many Pokémon fossils and provided me with a large amount of research material. Consider it my thank you gift to you. I think even Chengye wouldn't object if he knew."
Bai Feng patted May's shoulder and said, "Just accept it, it's okay."
Only then did May say, "Alright, thank you, Professor Oak."
"You're welcome, you're welcome!" Professor Oak said with a chuckle.
Immediately, Professor Oak led Bai Feng and May to the Research Institute's Courtyard. Indeed, in one area, they saw many Pokémon from Alola, including the Starter Pokémon Rowlet, Popplio, and Litten, as well as Pikipek, Crabrawler, Charjabug, Cutiefly, Rockruff, Mudbray, and many other Pokémon.
May's eyes were dazzled, and she couldn't help to exclaim, "So many, and so cute!"
Professor Oak said, "Whichever one you like, as long as you can get its recognition, you can take it with you!"
May looked left and right, suffering from decision paralysis and unable to choose.
"Then... you!"
May suddenly pointed at the Popplio playing in the Pond. She had seen Bai Feng's Primarina and thought Primarina was both powerful and elegant. She strongly hoped to have a Pokémon like that.
Pointed at by May, Popplio didn't know what was happening, but Torchic had already jumped out, full of fighting spirit.
"Chamo~ Chamo~~"
Seeing Torchic's condescending look, Popplio opened its mouth and unleashed a string of Bubble Beam, leaving Torchic dizzy.
"Woo~~"
Then, Popplio angrily turned its head and dove into the water, disappearing.
"It seems Popplio isn't very willing," Bai Feng said with a smile.
Torchic, having been beaten, walked back to May's side dejectedly.
May rubbed its head and said, "Don't be so reckless next time!" May now knew that she couldn't indulge her Pokémon unconditionally, otherwise some Pokémon could get overly excited, especially Fire-type Pokémon.
"Chamo~~" Torchic nodded lightly.
"Let's look at other Pokémon, there are still many," Bai Feng said.
"Okay!" May nodded and looked towards the other Pokémon again.
At this moment, her gaze suddenly noticed a Fomantis basking in the sunlight on the Grassland. Her eyes lit up; what a cute Pokémon!
Her Rotom Phone immediately aimed at Fomantis and began its introduction.
"Fomantis, the Sickle Grass Pokémon, Grass type. It sleeps soundly while bathing in sunlight during the day and only wakes up and becomes active at night. After bathing in sunlight, it emits a sweet aroma, making it easy to attract Bug-type Pokémon."
"I've decided, I choose Fomantis!" May declared confidently. She imitated Ash Ketchum's manner, "Torchic, I choose you!"
"Chamo~ Chamo~"
Torchic jumped towards Fomantis, full of fighting spirit, and issued a match challenge to Fomantis. However, Fomantis remained motionless like a real little grass, ignoring Torchic.
Seeing this, Torchic became very angry. It jumped next to Fomantis and fiercely unleashed a barrage of Fury Swipes and Peck on Fomantis.
At this moment, Fomantis, which had its eyes closed, suddenly opened them. Its eyes were completely red, and its face was full of rage.
"Kage~"
In an instant, countless green leaves shot towards Torchic. That was Fomantis's move, Razor Leaf.
Torchic was no match for Fomantis at all. It was chased all over the place by Fomantis, its body covered in green leaves, looking utterly miserable.
"Fomantis is angry, Rotom!" the Rotom Phone shouted, "Fomantis really dislikes being disturbed while sleeping. If you wake them up, the consequences can be severe!"
May was speechless, "Then why didn't you say so earlier?"
"You didn't ask," the Rotom Phone said innocently.
May: ...
If I knew, what would I need you for?
Soon, Torchic was defeated, and Fomantis contentedly went back to sleep.
"Torchic, are you okay?" May asked worriedly as she picked up Torchic. Unfortunately, Torchic had been knocked out.
Professor Oak said, "Don't worry, it has only temporarily lost its combat capability. It will be fine after resting for a while."
Hearing this, May felt relieved, but she had lost interest in Fomantis. She was afraid that if she disturbed Fomantis's sleep one day, she would also be severely beaten by it.
Suddenly, the corner of her eye caught sight of a Rockruff chasing a Cutiefly.
Seeing this, the Rotom Phone quickly introduced the two Pokémon.
"Cutiefly, the Bee Fly Pokémon, Bug and Fairy type. Pollen and nectar are its favorites. It can judge the opponent's next move from the aura they emit, then lightly dodge the attack and counterattack."
"Rockruff, the Puppy Pokémon, Rock type. It is very easy to get close to when young, but becomes rougher as it grows older. However, it will never forget its Master's kindness."
Hearing the Rotom Phone's introduction of Rockruff, May's eyes lit up.
Easy to get close to! That's it!
So she took out a can of Pokéblock from her backpack, poured a few pieces into her palm, and waved at Rockruff.
"Rockruff, come here, there's something tasty."
Hearing this, Rockruff stopped as expected. It tilted its head and looked at May for a while, seemingly judging if May was approachable. After a moment, it quickly ran towards May and happily ate the Pokéblock from May's palm.
Just as the Rotom Phone said, Rockruff was indeed very easy to get close to.
While Rockruff was eating, May reached out and stroked its soft back, and it didn't show any aversion. "It's still very cute."
The more May looked at Rockruff, the more she liked it.
After Rockruff finished eating the Pokéblock, May said to it, "Rockruff, do you want to be my Pokémon?"
Rockruff affectionately rubbed May's palm and then nodded.
May happily took out a Poké Ball and said to Rockruff, "Then, Rockruff, please take care of me from now on!"
"Woof woof woof~~"
Rockruff barked twice, and its paw tapped the Poké Ball, instantly being caught inside.
Professor Oak saw this and said with a chuckle, "Alright, since May has caught a Pokémon she likes, let's go back. Maybe the Fossil Pokémon have already been revived!"
"Okay!"
May and Bai Feng nodded.
The three walked towards the Laboratory where the Fossil Revival Machine was located. Suddenly, a loud noise came, startling the three of them, followed by a series of clanging sounds.
"Oh no!"
Professor Oak took off running, and Bai Feng and May quickly followed.
As soon as the three reached the Laboratory entrance, they saw the Laboratory door shattered with a bang, and then a Pokémon walked out from inside.
This Pokémon looked like a Dragon, its body was gray, but its tail, knees, and neck had blue stripes, and its shiny blue head was very eye-catching.
"It's Rampardos!" Professor Oak exclaimed!
Seeing this, the Rotom Phone quickly took a photo of the enraged Rampardos.
"Rampardos, the Headbutt Pokémon, Rock type. Its Headbutt has immense power, and its smooth, shiny head can even shatter giant trees!"
There had been previous cases of Rampardos being discovered and revived, so there was information about it in the Pokédex.
Although Rampardos looks like a Dragon and has "Dragon" in its name, it actually has nothing to do with Dragon Pokémon, not even in its Egg Group. This is extremely similar to Aerodactyl.
The newly revived Rampardos was unfamiliar with everything around it. The emotions of confusion and fear made it unable to help but go berserk.
Bai Feng extended his hand, and a radiance flickered in his eyes. The rampaging Rampardos instantly became unable to move.
Bai Feng looked directly into Rampardos's eyes, which seemed to have swirling vortexes. He softly said to Rampardos, "Good boy, don't be afraid. It's very safe here. You're very tired and want to sleep, right? Then sleep peacefully, I will protect you."
As Bai Feng comforted it, Rampardos's emotions gradually stabilized. Finally, it closed its eyes and lay down on the Ground, falling asleep.
Professor Oak breathed a sigh of relief, "Fortunately, you were here."
Bai Feng asked in confusion, "How did Rampardos just run out of the Fossil Revival Machine?"
Professor Oak shook his head. Logically, if the Fossil Revival Machine wasn't opened, the Pokémon revived inside shouldn't wake up.
Throwing a Poké Ball to catch Rampardos, Professor Oak was the first to enter the Laboratory. Inside, the instruments were mostly destroyed.
There were no other Fossil Pokémon in the Laboratory. Clearly, out of several fossils, only one Pokémon was successfully revived in the end.
Not all fossils can revive Pokémon; otherwise, fossil Pokémon wouldn't be so rare. Only fossils with completely preserved genes have the possibility of reviving fossil Pokémon.
After searching the Laboratory, Professor Oak finally found the reason why Rampardos ran out. In the corner of the Laboratory, a trembling Baby Kangaskhan was huddled. Clearly, it was the culprit who released Rampardos.
This Baby Kangaskhan was the child of Professor Oak's main Pokémon. Rampardos running out had clearly scared it quite a bit.
It was originally just playing around, accidentally entered the Laboratory, and out of curiosity, opened the Fossil Revival Machine. It didn't expect the Pokémon that came out to be so ferocious, almost scaring it to pee.
However, Professor Oak didn't blame the Baby Kangaskhan. After comforting it for a while, he found the Kangaskhan Mother and returned it to her.
After tidying up the Laboratory, Professor Oak planned to follow Bai Feng to Mt. Coronet again to dig up some fossils. But before setting off, Professor Oak took out a box from somewhere and called out to Bai Feng.
"Bai Feng, I have a gift for you."
"A gift?" Bai Feng looked puzzled.
"Yes!" Professor Oak nodded, "You discovered so many fossils and thought of me first. I can't let you be at a disadvantage!"
Bai Feng waved his hand indifferently, "Why are you being so polite with me?"
Professor Oak said with a smile, "Then you shouldn't be polite with me either."
"Alright then..." Bai Feng didn't refuse anymore upon hearing this.
"Open it and take a look," Professor Oak said, placing the box in Bai Feng's hand.
Bai Feng gently opened the lid and saw a crystal-clear stone emitting a seven-colored radiance lying inside.
"This is... a Key Stone?" Bai Feng exclaimed.
"Yes, haven't you been looking for another Key Stone?" Professor Oak said with a smile, "Now you don't have to look anymore."
Bai Feng did want to find another Key Stone, but not for himself, but for Ash Ketchum.
Before, he had obtained a Scizor Mega Stone from a Gimmighoul, but now he had no intention of cultivating new Pokémon, so he thought of giving this Mega Stone to Ash Ketchum.
Later, by chance, from Aaron, one of the Sinnoh Elite Four, he traded Scizor for a Gallade Mega Stone.
However, a Mega Stone alone was useless; it also needed a Key Stone to cooperate. But Key Stones were so precious. Bai Feng inquired in many ways but couldn't obtain a Key Stone, so the matter of giving the Mega Stone to Ash Ketchum was delayed.
He didn't expect Professor Oak to be so generous today and give him a Key Stone.
Bai Feng quickly closed the box and handed the Key Stone back, saying, "This is too valuable, I can't accept it."
If it were something else, it would be fine, but this was a Key Stone, something that couldn't be bought with money.
Professor Oak's face straightened upon hearing this, "Is there any reason for me to take back something I've given away?"
In fact, Professor Oak giving Bai Feng a Key Stone wasn't just because Bai Feng brought him a large amount of fossil material. It was also because Bai Feng had provided a lot of help for his research before. The Legendary Birds, Diancie, Mewtwo, Deoxys, and other Legendary Pokémon – if it weren't for Bai Feng, how would he have had the opportunity to research them?
Compared to those, a Key Stone was nothing at all.
"But..." Bai Feng hesitated.
"If you refuse again, I'll get angry!" Professor Oak said, deliberately straightening his face, "You're looking for a Key Stone to give to Ash Ketchum, right? Consider it a gift from both of us to Ash Ketchum!"
"Alright then..." Since Professor Oak had said so, he had no choice but to accept it, otherwise, he would be too ungrateful.
"That's right! What kind of man are you, being so wishy-washy!" Professor Oak said, patting Bai Feng's shoulder.
After putting away the Key Stone, Bai Feng opened the Summoning Circle and took Professor Oak and May back to Mt. Coronet.
(End of Chapter)
Chapter 410: Buneary
After returning to the Cave, Dr. Bai Damu and his Dragonite were happily digging for ore there, while Bai Feng took May back to Dusknoir's Home.
Seeing Bai Feng return, the Staraptor family immediately gathered around.
"How was it? How was it?" Staraptor asked.
It was asking if Bai Feng and May had managed to catch a suitable Pokémon.
Bai Feng smiled and said to Staraptor, "We've already caught a suitable Pokémon."
"Is that so..." Hearing this, Staraptor felt quite disappointed. It had eaten Bai Feng's Berries but hadn't been able to help Bai Feng, so it felt very sorry.
Seeing Staraptor looking dejected, Bai Feng suddenly said, "How about this? You and your wife and children come Home with me and help me look after my Orchard? I can supply you with food every day."
Anyway, he already had Talonflame and Corviknight at Home, so he didn't mind adding another species like Staraptor. Besides, they had met Staraptor twice, so there was still some connection between them.
Hearing this, Staraptor's eyes lit up. Then it thought that it needed to discuss it with its wife, so it said to Bai Feng, "Let me think about it."
Bai Feng nodded, "Go ahead, take your time, no rush."
Staraptor flew over to its wife and children and started murmuring head-to-head with its wife.
Seeing this, Bai Feng walked over to Garchomp and asked, "Garchomp, are you feeling better?"
Garchomp said gratefully, "Much better, thank you for saving me."
"It's good that you're okay," Bai Feng shook his head and then asked, "Right, what are you going to do next? Still planning to wander around?"
Hearing this, Garchomp fell silent, unsure how to answer for a moment. It had run away from home on impulse, but it actually had no plan at all.
"How about... you come Home with me and work for me?" Bai Feng asked tentatively. He looked at Garchomp's sharp claw and thought it would be very suitable for pruning the branches in his Orchard.
It just so happened that the fruit trees in his Orchard had grown too tall, and the task of pruning branches had increased. Leavanny and Liepard alone were getting a bit too busy.
"Work?" Garchomp asked in confusion.
"Yes!" Bai Feng told Garchomp about the situation at his Home.
Garchomp was silent for a while, then finally nodded, "Okay, I'll work for you."
Bai Feng joked, "I have many Pokémon at Home, maybe you can even find a girlfriend."
Hearing this, Garchomp's eyes lit up.
"Then let's go quickly!" It was already a bit impatient.
Soon, the Staraptor family had also finished discussing, and they all agreed to go Home with Bai Feng. With a wife and children, Staraptor also hoped for a more stable life.
"In that case, let's go!" Bai Feng then called out to May, who was building a bond with Rockruff, "May, we're going Home!"
"Oh, coming!"
Saying that, May ran over, holding Rockruff.
"Dusknoir, we're leaving, thank you for your foster care," Bai Feng waved to Dusknoir.
"Yo-na~ Yo-na~"
Dusknoir also waved goodbye to everyone.
Bai Feng opened the summoning circle and took May, Garchomp, and the Staraptor family back to Fangxing Mountain.
As for Professor Oak, he would call Bai Feng after he finished digging up the fossil, and Bai Feng would go pick him up then.
Upon entering the Fangxing Mountain area, a warm wind blew towards them, completely different from when they were at Mt. Coronet. Having gotten used to the cold Mt. Coronet, the Staraptor family felt a little unable to adapt.
The Staraptor family, who had lived in a severely cold environment for years, had grown thick downy feathers. Now that they were in a warm environment, they would probably be shedding feathers constantly for a while.
Just then, several Talonflame flew by from the sky with Fletchinder and Fletchling. Bai Feng quickly waved to them.
The Talonflame flapped their wings and landed, looking at the Staraptor and other Pokémon next to Bai Feng, knowing that there would be new members on the mountain.
Bai Feng pointed at the Staraptor family and said to the Talonflame, "These are your new colleagues. Please show them around, arrange a place to stay for them, and help them get familiar with the work environment."
The Talonflame patted their chests and guaranteed Bai Feng that they would complete the task.
Bai Feng then said to the Staraptor family, "You go with the Talonflame first. If you need anything or have anything you don't understand, come find me."
"Staraptor roar~ Staraptor roar~~"
Staraptor nodded and flew away with its wife and children, following the Talonflame.
After Staraptor left, Bai Feng said to Garchomp, "Your injury needs a period of rest. I'll arrange work for you after you recover."
Garchomp nodded in agreement.
Just as Bai Feng was about to take Garchomp Home, a cry suddenly came from the sky. He looked up and saw that it was Altaria, singing as it passed over their heads.
"Garchomp, we..." Bai Feng didn't think much of it and was about to continue walking when he saw Garchomp looking up at the sky, staring blankly at the gradually departing Altaria.
"Garchomp?"
Bai Feng called out to it, but Garchomp didn't react at all.
"Garchomp?" Bai Feng raised his voice.
"Huh?" Garchomp finally came back to its senses.
"Pfft~~~" May, holding Rockruff, was amused by Garchomp's silly look and laughed.
"What are you spacing out for?" Bai Feng asked.
May covered her mouth and giggled, "Uncle Bai Feng, Garchomp must be in love?"
Bai Feng was speechless, "You're so young, and you already understand this?"
May retorted, "I'm not young at all, I do understand."
Just then, Garchomp said, "Bai Feng, I'm in love!"
Bai Feng said speechlessly, "How long has it been since your last breakup? You're in love again so quickly? You like Altaria?"
Garchomp nodded without hesitation, "That's right. Only today did I realize that what I liked before wasn't love at all. The beautiful Altaria is the only one in my heart."
Bai Feng: "Switching affections is switching affections."
"See, I told you," May couldn't help but say.
"I don't understand what you mean by love, but never mind," Bai Feng sighed. "If you can win over Altaria, I can't stop you, but for now, you should focus on recovering from your injury!"
Saying that, he dragged Garchomp Home.
When Bai Feng and May arrived Home, Brock had already finished his special training and was helping Audino and Hatterene with their work. At the same time, he was also learning culinary skills from Audino and Hatterene.
"Uncle Bai Feng, May!"
Seeing Bai Feng and May return, Brock immediately came over, still wearing a flowery apron.
After being busy with Hatterene and the others for a while, Brock's mood had improved. The depression from losing the competition earlier had long been thrown aside.
Seeing the Rockruff in May's arms, Brock's eyes lit up, "May, is this the Pokémon you caught?"
"Mhm~" May nodded, holding up Rockruff and saying to Brock, "How is it? Cute, right? Its name is Rockruff, a Rock type Pokémon!"
"Woof woof woof~~~" Rockruff raised a claw and greeted Brock.
"Perfect, I made some snacks and pastries. Let Rockruff try them and see if it likes them," Brock suddenly remembered something, then quickly ran into the Kitchen.
When he came out again, he was holding a plate of snacks and pastries, which were still steaming, clearly just made.
Brock picked up a piece of pastry and brought it to Rockruff's mouth. Rockruff immediately started eating without a word.
"It seems Rockruff really likes it," Brock stroked Rockruff's head. He really liked Rock type Pokémon.
"Right, Uncle Bai Feng, May, you should try some too." Saying that, Brock brought the plate over to Bai Feng and May.
"Okay!"
"Then I won't be shy!"
Bai Feng and May each took a piece of pastry and put it in their mouths. May immediately gave Brock a thumbs-up and said, "Delicious, worthy of you, Brock!"
Bai Feng also gave Brock a thumbs-up.
Brock scratched his head sheepishly and said, "I'm glad you like them. It seems I've learned quite well from Senior Hatterene and Senior Audino."
In the evening, Bai Feng first went to Mt. Coronet to send Professor Oak Home, and then went to Jubilife City to pick up Ash Ketchum and Max.
They had just returned from Jubilife City when it was time for dinner. Tonight's dinner was a collaboration between Brock and Audino.
During dinner, Ash Ketchum and Max were chattering away, discussing who they had battled today, what Pokémon and tactics their opponents used, chatting up a storm!
As they were talking, Ash Ketchum seemed to remember something. He poked Max, and Max suddenly remembered something too.
Seeing Max looking hesitant, May asked in confusion, "Max, what's wrong? Do you have a nail under your butt?"
Max then stammered, "Sister, there's something I want to tell you, but you can't get angry."
"What is it? Tell me first," May said.
Max slowly took out a Poké Ball from his pocket and placed it on the table.
"A Poké Ball?" May asked.
"It's a Poké Ball with a Buneary inside," Max said. He pressed the button, and with a flash of red light, a Buneary appeared on the table.
As soon as Buneary came out, it looked around with its round eyes. When it saw many people and Pokémon in front of it, it immediately quieted down and even cutely greeted everyone.
"Buneary? Where did it come from?" May asked in surprise.
So Ash Ketchum and Max told Bai Feng and May about meeting Gordie.
"Sister, can I foster care this Buneary in your name?" Max asked pitifully.
"But I feel like you might not be able to handle this Buneary?" May said, looking at the Buneary whose eyes were darting around.
"No, no!" Max quickly said, hugging Buneary, "Sister, Buneary is very well-behaved."
"Really?" May looked at Buneary with suspicion.
"Yes! Yes!" Max nodded his head like a rattle-drum.
"Mii-ru~ Mii-ru~" Buneary also quickly blinked its watery big eyes, looking at May with pleading eyes, as if its whole body was writing the words "I am very well-behaved".
"Alright," Seeing Max's sincere request, May had no choice but to agree.
"Yay!" Max happily hugged Buneary, "Thank you, Sister."
Buneary pushed Max away, a hint of disdain in its gaze, but its face showed delight, so Max didn't see it at all.
This silly little dummy wants to be my trainer too? Hmph~ Never mind, I'll follow him for a while. It just so happens I haven't found much food lately, and it seems there's no shortage of food here.
Just like that, Buneary stayed by Max's side.
At night, everyone went to sleep, and the entire Fangxing Mountain quieted down.
In Max's room, Buneary, who was sleeping in the same quilt as him, suddenly opened its eyes. It scrambled up, patted Max's cheek, and then stuck out its tongue at the sleeping Max.
Blech blech blech~ Little dummy!
Seeing that Max wasn't awake, it hopped out of bed and lightly opened the room door.
Buneary poked its head out of the room, and seeing that no one was outside, it immediately strutted out.
"Honestly, I didn't eat enough at all," Buneary complained, covering its stomach. During dinner, it hadn't dared to eat too much to appear well-behaved.
Walking into the Living Room, Buneary quickly located the Kitchen and walked in. However, it didn't know that as it turned around, the chandelier on the Living Room ceiling gently swayed, and wisps of eerie blue flames suddenly lit up, and a pair of golden eyes suddenly opened.
At the same time, in the flower basin in the corner, transparent branches trembled, swaying with eerie white light, and growing longer and longer.
On the table, the sound of porcelain clinking rang out, and a teapot and a teacup slowly floated into the air.
After Buneary entered the Kitchen, it quickly found the refrigerator. It moved a stool over and easily opened the refrigerator door. When it saw the refrigerator full of delicious food, it almost cheered out loud.
So much, so much, so much food!
Buneary grabbed a piece of cake and stuffed it into its mouth. Its mouth was small, and soon it was covered in food, and food was everywhere on the floor.
After finishing a piece of cake, it grabbed a can of grassland goat milk and chugged it down.
Delicious! Satisfying!
Buneary wiped its mouth boldly, then grabbed a piece of bread with its other hand and stuffed it into its mouth. After only a couple of bites, it threw the bread aside and grabbed a ball of raw dough and stuffed it into its mouth.
This dough was what Audino had prepared to steam steamed buns (with filling) for tomorrow morning.
Ptooey ptooey ptooey~ What is this, it's so disgusting!
Raw dough is naturally not tasty.
Buneary casually threw the ball of dough onto the Ground, then grabbed a grade S Starf Berry in each hand.
With one bite, the juice spread in its mouth, and Buneary's eyes lit up.
This is delicious, so delicious!
In almost no time, the entire Kitchen was a mess made by Buneary, with food thrown all over the Ground, leaving almost no place to step.
After eating and drinking its fill, Buneary lay spread-eagled on the table. After lying there for a while, it scrambled up and jumped down from the table.
Its round little eyes darted around, wanting to explore this Home.
It touched here and there, finding everything very new and interesting.
"Huh? What's this?" Just then, it found a small box in the corner.
Buneary walked up to the box and slowly opened it, immediately startled by the box full of gold coins and coins.
Money! So much money! I'm rich!
