Chapter 30 - ## Chapter 30: Enrollment

**Chapter 30: Enrollment**

Led by Dongyu, Bai Feng successfully arrived at the Fourth Middle School and met the teacher in charge of managing enrollment at the school's reception area, a tall, thin man wearing glasses.

After Bai Feng handed over his Admission Notice, the bespectacled teacher began to verify it. After confirming Bai Feng's identity, he said with a beaming smile:

"So you're Bai Feng! I've heard your name for a long time. I finally get to meet you in person today. You're a good young man!"

Bai Feng was confused. *Am I that famous?*

The teacher explained with a smile, "You're the top student among all the new students this year!"

So that was it. Bai Feng really didn't know, because the Primary School's Graduation Exam only published the internal school ranking, and nothing else was announced.

Soon, the bespectacled teacher completed the Enrollment Procedures for Bai Feng and gave him some necessary items: two sets of special School Uniforms, a Student Card with his student ID, and a New Student Admission Manual.

Because of Bai Feng's special status, the School Uniforms were provided free of charge by the school. For students from normal families, a material cost would need to be paid.

In addition, the school also provides accommodation. If a new student wants to board, they will also receive a Dormitory Key when completing the Enrollment Procedures. Of course, the accommodation fee must be paid separately.

However, the Blue Bird Orphanage is not far from the Fourth Middle School, so Bai Feng, like Dongyu, chose to be a day student.

After the procedures were completed, the bespectacled teacher began to introduce the school's basic information to Bai Feng.

In Primary School, the curriculum for students was fixed, but Intermediate School is different. It's similar to the university in Bai Feng's previous life, using a credit system. Students can only successfully advance to the next year if they earn enough credits each semester; otherwise, they will have to repeat the year.

Students cannot earn enough credits required for advancing by only taking the required courses arranged by the school. Therefore, each semester, students must select some courses based on their individual circumstances.

Then there's the issue of class assignment.

Compared to Primary School, the number of students in Intermediate School is much larger, so the number of classes in each year level is also relatively higher.

Moreover, most Intermediate Schools in the Pokémon world adopt small class teaching, with the class size generally between 10 and 15.

The Pokémon Department has two main specializations: Breeding and Battle. Students in the Breeding specialization are mostly future Pokémon Breeders, Pokémon Doctors, etc., while the Battle specialization trains traditional Pokémon Trainers, Coordinator Trainers, Performers, and similar professions.

Bai Feng enrolled in the Breeding specialization.

Intermediate Schools do not further subdivide the Breeding and Battle specializations. Only when students reach High School will there be more detailed specializations, such as Coordinator, Breeding, Pokémon Doctor, and so on.

After introducing these, the bespectacled teacher then guided Bai Feng to the school's Announcement Area to check his class assignment.

With Dongyu leading the way, Bai Feng easily found the Announcement Area and found out that he had been assigned to the Breeding specialization, first-year Class 2.

After checking the class assignment, Dongyu said to Bai Feng, "I'll take you to report to your class in a bit, and then I'll go back to my own class. Will you be okay on your own after that?"

Bai Feng nodded and said, "Don't worry, Brother Dong Yu, I can handle it on my own."

The Fourth Middle School had quite a few teaching buildings. It took Bai Feng and Dongyu a while to find the location of the Breeding specialization, first-year Class 2.

Dongyu was a student in the General Department, so he wasn't very familiar with the class layout in the Pokémon Department and couldn't be of much help to Bai Feng.

After taking Bai Feng to the class entrance, he left directly.

Bai Feng peeked into Class 2. He saw seven or eight students already seated in the class, both boys and girls, all around ten years old, looking noticeably younger than Bai Feng.

A young teacher was also sitting at the teacher's desk, reading a book.

Bai Feng's appearance attracted the attention of the students in the class. The students' murmuring then caught the teacher's attention. She turned her head towards the door, and after seeing Bai Feng, she smiled and beckoned him in.

"Are you a new student? Come in quickly."

"Hello, Teacher." Bai Feng walked into the classroom and approached the teacher, politely greeting her.

"Hello, I'm the homeroom teacher for first-year Class 2. You can call me Teacher Hanada. What's your name?"

Teacher Hanada looked to be in her twenties, not tall, with a round, youthful face and a very sweet smile.

"My name is Bai Feng, Teacher Hanada."

"Bai Feng..." Teacher Hanada lowered her head and took out the roll book. She quickly found Bai Feng's name on it and then put a checkmark next to the name.

"Alright," Teacher Hanada looked up again and said to Bai Feng, "Find a seat for now. Once all the students have arrived, we'll distribute the textbooks."

"Okay." Bai Feng nodded, walked away from the teacher's desk, and casually found an empty seat in the class to sit down.

Although the Fourth Middle School adopted small class teaching, each classroom was actually quite spacious, and there were plenty of seats in the classroom. However, everyone consciously sat closer together and didn't just pick random seats.

As soon as Bai Feng sat down, he felt a couple of pats on his shoulder. He looked back and saw a kid with bright blonde hair grinning at him.

"Hey, you're Bai Feng, right? I'm Dafu. We're classmates from now on. Nice to meet you!"

"H-hello, nice to meet you." Bai Feng nodded at him.

This blonde kid named Dafu was very outgoing. After getting a response from Bai Feng, he smoothly slid over and sat down next to Bai Feng, becoming his deskmate.

"Hey, Bai Feng, do you want to be a Pokémon Breeder in the future too? My goal is to raise my Furfrou to be the coolest Pokémon in the world!"

As he spoke, Dafu actually took out an Advanced Poké Ball and released a Furfrou. What's more, the Furfrou had the Lady Trim.

"What do you think? Isn't my Furfrou very sexy?"

Bai Feng: ...

Dafu's Furfrou had a very arrogant nature. After coming out, it lightly glanced at its trainer, its eyes full of disdain. Then it slightly raised its chin and lazily lay down on the ground.

But Dafu seemed stimulated by that glance from Furfrou. He said with a flushed face, "Ooh~~ The feeling is here! Perfect!"

*H-hentai?*

Seeing this, Bai Feng quickly moved a bit sideways, afraid of being affected by Dafu's perverted aura.

Just then, Teacher Hanada noticed what was happening here. With a stern face, she said to Dafu, "Dafu, please put your Furfrou away. How many times do I have to tell you?"

*So it wasn't the first time?* Bai Feng sat even further away from Dafu.

Seeing this, Dafu quickly recalled his Furfrou into its Poké Ball.

Just then, a purple-haired girl sitting in front of Bai Feng turned around and said to him, "Don't pay attention to that pervert. He's already introduced his Furfrou to six classmates today."

Hearing this, Bai Feng looked around the classroom. Including him, there were now eight students in the classroom. Besides Dafu and the purple-haired girl, there were exactly six others. In other words, every time a classmate arrived, Dafu would get excited once.

*Wow, that frequent? Dafu, can your body handle it?*

"Hey, Walen, don't be so nosy, okay? I wasn't introducing it to you, so what's it to you!" Dafu said discontentedly.

"Hmph!" The purple-haired girl named Walen didn't pay attention to Dafu at all and simply turned back around.

Just then, with a flash of red light, a Pichu appeared on Walen's desk.

"Pii~" *You bullied my Walen again!*

As soon as Pichu appeared, it glared angrily at Dafu, and then a faint blue light emitted from its entire body, giving Dafu a "refreshing" electrotherapy session.

"Not... not again?" Dafu's blonde hair instantly stood on end.

Pichu was young and its strength was weak, so the electric current it could emit was very weak. It wouldn't cause any harm to Dafu, only make the physical sensation a bit stronger.

Just then, Teacher Hanada noticed the situation here again. She looked at Walen with a warning expression and said, "Walen, put your Pichu away. Can you and Dafu please stop messing around?"

Hearing this, Walen expressionlessly took out a Poké Ball and recalled Pichu.

*So you two are a bickering pair!* Bai Feng thought to himself.

He later learned that Dafu and Walen had grown up together since childhood and were genuine childhood friends. However, because Dafu's nature was too perverted, Walen could never stand him, so their relationship was always bad.

However, their two families were close friends and interacted very frequently, so they had more and more opportunities to interact, which caused their conflicts to deepen.

The conflicts between Dafu and Walen were just a minor interlude for Bai Feng. Soon, the remaining students in the class arrived one after another.

According to Teacher Hanada, there were a total of 12 students in first-year Class 2, but only 11 registered today. It was unknown what the situation was with the remaining one.

But seeing that time was getting late, Teacher Hanada didn't wait for the last student and instead organized the students to distribute the textbooks.

After the textbooks were distributed, the teacher organized the students for a round of self-introductions. These were all basic procedures for student enrollment, nothing much to say about them.

At noon, Bai Feng didn't go home but instead visited the Fourth Middle School's Canteen.

The Fourth Middle School's Pokémon Department Canteen and General Department Canteen were not in the same place. Because students in the Pokémon Department usually had Pokémon with them, and considering the dining needs of Pokémon, the Pokémon Department Canteen was built to be more luxurious.

But similarly, the cost here was also higher.

Otherwise, why would people say studying in the Pokémon Department is very expensive? Just the expense for meals alone for some students in the Pokémon Department could equal a year's expense for a General Department student.

Looking at the dazzling array of Pokémon food displayed in the Canteen's display window, from Pokéblocks, Pokémon Biscuits, to Poképuffs and Pokémon Steamed Buns, they truly had everything. Even the same type of food was subdivided into Primary, Intermediate, and Advanced grades, with prices getting higher and higher.

Bai Feng also saw a counter for customized food, where students could go to specifically customize the types and flavors of Pokémon food for their Pokémon.

Of course, the prices there were also staggering.

It was said that the operator of that counter was an Intermediate Breeder!

Bai Feng might save money in other areas, but when it came to his Pokémon's meals, he was always generous. So he ordered a portion of every type of Pokémon food, except for some that looked very bizarre.

Isn't there a classic saying in the Pokémon world: the shortcut to Pokémon becoming stronger is eating! Although this saying is a bit exaggerated, it still makes a lot of sense. If you can't even eat well, how can you become stronger?

After ordering the food, Bai Feng brought Bai Ye, Popplio, and Helioptile to a dining table, filled the entire table with food, and then they started eating!

Originally, Bai Feng didn't want Bai Ye to come today, as the school was a very boring place for it. But Bai Ye insisted on coming itself.

In Bai Ye's words, how could a parent not see their child off on their first day of school!

Alright... Since Bai Ye said so, how could Bai Feng refuse? After all, it was his mom!

But Gardevoir is, after all, an extremely rare Pokémon. So when Bai Ye appeared in the Restaurant, it immediately attracted a lot of attention. Some people even started intentionally or unintentionally inquiring about Bai Feng's identity.

Bai Ye itself, however, turned a blind eye to this attention. As soon as the food was laid out before it, it immediately began to eat heartily.

Because Bai Feng bought many types of food, the quantity of each portion wasn't large, just a small plate, just enough for Bai Ye, Popplio, and Helioptile to eat their fill.

Expensive things are expensive for a reason. Bai Feng didn't know how Bai Ye and the others' food tasted, but his own portion tasted really good.

Soon, Bai Ye and the others ate until their bellies were round. Helioptile even collapsed onto the table with its belly sticking out.

"Hey!"

Just then, someone suddenly patted Bai Feng on the back. He looked back and said with surprise:

"Zhen Li!"

Zhen Li deliberately put on a stern face and said to Bai Feng, "You're already my junior, and you didn't even come say hello!"

Bai Feng said with a chuckle, "I just enrolled today, so I didn't have time yet." He wouldn't dare offend this lady; his mom's and the two babies' meals were still in her hands.

"You've already finished eating!" Zhen Li said in surprise, looking at the table full of 'leftovers'. "I should have come earlier. I was planning to treat you, my junior, to a meal."

Bai Feng and Zhen Li's bond had been quite good over the past two years. He provided Zhen Li with Berries, and Zhen Li helped him make Pokéblocks for Bai Ye, Popplio, and Helioptile.

Although Zhen Li wasn't an Advanced Pokémon Breeder, her level of making Pokéblocks was quite good. Coupled with the Advanced Berries provided by Bai Feng, the quality of the Pokéblocks she made was far higher than those mass-produced products sold on the market.

The Pokéblocks she made for Bai Ye and the others were specially customized after understanding their situation. Because of this, Bai Feng's bond with her had always been very close.

Since Zhen Li had classes in the afternoon, she only chatted with Bai Feng for a while before leaving.

In the afternoon, Bai Feng returned to the classroom.

After all the students returned, Teacher Hanada collectively taught everyone where to select elective courses and what to pay attention to during course selection. Half a day passed just like that.
