Keifer's POV
"Have you prepared your things?" Keigan, who is currently an idiot, turned to me. He raised an eyebrow as he looked at me. "Why should I prepare my stuff?" He looks so confused. Not again. i release a heavy sighs. "Tell me Keigan, do you have a problem?" She shook her head. "Do I look like I have a problem?" I grabbed my chin. Every day I don't see Keigan he seems to be becoming a different person. There are days when he is bossy and there are days when he doesn't seem to know us. "What's my name?" I ask him and he laughs."You don't remember your own name anymore?" He said while
laughing.
I look at him straight in the eye. "What is my complete name Keigan?"
He seemed to be serious. He scratched his head slightly.
"Mark Keifer Watson."
"What's the name of your younger brother?" I quickly asked
after he answered.
"Mike Keiren Watson."
"What is your whole name?"
"Mir Keigan Watson."
"Where did you get the scar on the side of your right thumb on your
foot?"
"From your broken toy that was scattered around your room."
"How old are you when you found out that you have astigmatism?"
"14 after having headaches."
"Where did you hide Keiren when you decided to scare him?"
"Basement. Besides your favorite room—what is this all about?!"
"Just checking your memory."
He laughed in annoyance before standing up and walking away. I held on to my feelings. He was okay to look at but why did it seem like there was something really wrong with him. I don't want to force him to tell me. Maybe he would just move further away from me.
"Keifer! You ready?" It was Honey while walking toward me.
I stood up and adjusted my necktie. I took the coat that was on the back of the sofa and shook it out before putting it on.
"I'm ready." I said and walked.
He followed me with his expensive bag and a pink brief case. I was the one who looked like a secretary because of his
attitude.
"Uncle said that many of their investors withdrew because of the
issue of the Data breach. Why would you still invest in them?" He asked
while hiding the paper he was holding in the brief case.
"I know their Vice Chairman. He said before that there's no
such thing as losing. It's only winning or learning." I press my car key
to unlock my car. "I'm going to invest in him because I know he won't give up. That's the kind of person who's hard to bring down in the business world."I got in the car and he did the same. I drive smoothly to our destination. I plan to invest in Angelo's friend's company. Tiger told me the current problem of his company. It's not just money that makes me invest in him. I know I will need him in the future. We arrived at the address Honey mentioned. The building of their company is large and not ordinary. I'm not surprised anymore because he used to show wealth to everyone. "After that let's eat ah? I want steak." my forehead crease. Then he complains that he is gaining weight but he eats only meat. So maybe Felix doesn't want to flirt with you. Entering the inside we were immediately greeted by the employees. They smiled at us and greeted almost at the same time. "Mr. Richardson is waiting for you." Said a man. I simply nodded before following him. We approached the elevator and when it opened, there were only four of us inside. "Do you want to request something? Coffee, tea or cola? Do you also want something to eat during the meeting?" One of them asked me. It was honey who answered. "Café Latte and Whiskey." She said while typing on her phone. "Whiskey?" They confirm. "If you have none, champagne of red wine will do." I adjusted the button of my coat. I don't know why but I feel like I'm suddenly nervous. I don't usually feel nervous when I'm sure about what I'm going to do. This is the first. We got to the floor of my purpose office. The man who assisted us knocked first before opening the door. I was only two steps away when I saw who was inside. It was Mr. Richardson and the one and only.... Angelo. "Mr. Watson. It's good that you've arrived." said the person I aim for. "Mr. Richardson." I said and walk closer to them. He offered his hand for a handshake and I accepted it. I couldn't help but look at Angelo. He looked at us seriously whileSitting on the long sofa. This seems to be the reason why I felt nervous. "Stop calling me Mr. It's like we don't get along. Call me with my nickname." "Don." I said and he nodded. He motioned for us to sit down and that's what Honey did. Don's attention immediately shifted to him. "And who's this beautiful woman?" Don approached him and reached for his hand to kiss his back. Honey quickly snatched her hand. "Keifer's Secretary." Don confronted me. "Such a shame. You keep her only as a secretary." "We're both taken." We said in unison. My eyebrows almost rose. She doesn't have a boyfriend so how did she become taken. Maybe she has an imaginary one. I looked at Angelo as he gave me a meaningful look. I knew he knew I was referring to Jay-jay. "Really? With each other?" Don said and laugh. I shook my head. "No. With his cousin." I pointed at Angelo. He looks at him in disbelief. He looked back at me before looking at him again. Don suddenly laughed out loud. He even pointed at me and Angelo while shaking. "For real?" He asked while laughing so loud. He approached Angelo and laughed at his own face. He remained motionless while looking at me badly. "Seriously Angelo? You teach him to hit woman and ended up hitting your cousin." He said and Angelo suddenly looked at him deadly. He stopped laughing and adjusted the necktie. "I said shut up." "Start your meeting. We still have something to talk about so hurry up." Angelo said and don press the intercom to call his secretary. "Send the papers here now." He said. I sit just across Angelo. I can't be bothered because of the stare he's making at me. It's like I'm melting what he's doing. What the hell is wrong with him?We started the meeting with Mission and Vision. The work done and
events that they held before. I ask few questions that Dan immediately
answered.
With complete details we finish our meeting less than two hours. Angelo
patiently waiting for us to finish. He never said a thing while watching us.
"So, would you like to close the deal now?" Don asked me.
"Sure."
Don called his secretary and delivered the contract. Not that
long when it came in and handed me the papers.
I read it a moment before signing it and Don did the same.
After the meeting we were all silent.
An awkward silence.
"Miss Beautiful." Don called Honey. "Can you leave us for a while?
We have a private matter to discuss."
Honey looked at me. I nodded to signal her to
leave. She did so with a copy of the contract and her precious
bag.
We stood up almost at the same time when Honey came out. We were still surprised
at first but it turned out that we were the only ones doing it. Taking off our
coats. Don took off his and then his necktie.
"You really are brainwashed, aren't you?" Don said while pointing at
me and Angelo.
I sat down after hanging my coat on the bench.
Angelo did the same, frowning at me.
"What are you talking about?" I ask them.
They look each other first before answering me.
"About the fraternity." Angelo said. "I want you to know what they
did to us and what they'll do to you."
"They'll take advantage of you. That's what they did to us." Don said.
I arch a brow. Are they saying this to make me lose interest in joining
their group?
"They will come when people are in trouble. Of course, they will be armed with knives
so they can get what they want." He added. "...That's what they did to Angelo and me."
"I know what you're doing. You're saying this to persuade me
not to join." I chuckled.
They exchanged meaningful glances."Can you kill someone?" Angelo said that makes me stop.
"That's their initiation."
"You can't be serious."
"We're dead serious Keifer." Don answered me.
"The more desperate you are the more they'll play with you.
Sometimes they will ask you to do the most unexpected thing."
I'm out of words. I don't know if they are still cheating on me or if it's true
that's what they say. But ending someone else's life is no joke.
"What did they do to you?" I ask them.
"They asked me to kill someone but I didn't do anything. I'm not that
desperate so they gave me different initiation." Dan said and looked at
Angelo.
"They asked the same and I almost did." He said and looked at me straight
in the eye.
"Why didn't you and who is it?"
"A kid. An innocent and clueless kid. He don't know anything about
my agenda and I see no good reason to end his life. So I choose not to."
He didn't blink as he stared at me and said those words. I felt a strange sensation with every word he said.
That kid...is there a possibility?
"Why are you saying this to me?"
"Introduction." Don said while gesturing his hands. "First get to know the group you're joining."
"They only have a few members. Most of them are old money, filthy
rich or tycoon billionaires." Angelo added.
"How did you join? You're not that rich."
He smirked. "There are things that you haven't discovered about me."
"Sometimes it's not just about money." Don said but I doubt that.
From joining to becoming a member, there is money involved, so
how can it not be about money?
If what they say is true, there is a chance that they will also order me to
kill just to become their member. But if I don't join,
where will I get people like them?
It would be a big win for my side to
have alliances like them.
I have to think wisely. This is not just for me. This is for my brothers
and Jay-jay. If I don't join their group, when will I meet another person
like them?I'll just hope for the best.
"I still want to join." I said without hesitation.
Both of them sighed deeply.
"Stubborn. You're in charge." Don said to Angelo. "You spoiled him too
much."
"Shut up!" Angelo shouted at him before turning to me. "Are you sure you're
there?"
I nodded with full of confidence. I'll punch the moon but
that's all that comes to mind.
"I'll give you time Keifer." He said. "After that time,
I'll ask you again and if that's still the answer..." He looked at Don
first then face me again. "...I'll recruit you."
He stood up and walked out of the office. His friend and I were left
just following him. As soon as the door closed, we
faced each other again.
He smirked at me. "Just a reminder. There's no going back once you start." I nodded. "Don't show off or be arrogant to others and above all..." He paused as if he's thinking then smiled wickedly.
"...Whoever recruits you, will be the one to initiate you."
Fvck!
Angelo will recruit me. Fvck this! He'll definitely make a fan of
me. What if it's worse? Shit! I wish I had recruited Ervin.
I heard Don's loud laughter.
"You're turning pale!" He said and laughed so hard.
"Whatever. I'm leaving."
I grabbed my coat from the armrest. I turned to face him who was still busy laughing. When I left his office, Honey immediately greeted me.
"Steak." She said while grinning like a child.
My stomach felt like it was being told to me. I suddenly felt hungry.
So even though I didn't want to, I just nodded. I walked ahead of him and
he followed me.
The employees who greeted us greeted us
after a while until we reached the parking lot.
"I know a place." She said and while checking her phone.
"Just tell me the direction."I drive the car while Honey keeps telling me the direction. I'm not sure about the road we're taking. If I hadn't just said no to them, I might have already driven home.
"You turn that corner. Then you'll see—THAT'S IT!" She excitedly pointed to the steak house.
I look for a space to park when I notice a familiar car.
Is that...Percy's?
I immediately parked the car when I found a space. I immediately got out and so did Honey. I quickly walked towards Percy's car.
"Hey! What's that? You have a car like that, right?" Honey
said while waiting for me.
"I know this car. It belongs to someone I know." I said and looked at the
window of steak house hoping to see him....and her.
"Who?"
My heart suddenly beats faster and louder. She's here with Percy. I can
see her talking to him.
"What? Who is it? Is it inside?" He asked again while trying
to look inside.
"Jay-jay is here with someone."
She sighed while looking at me. "Did you change?"
My forehead creased. "No."
She straightened herself. She combed her hair with her hand. She also slapped her cheek lightly.
"I understand. Let's go inside and show her."
She looked like she was thinking something else. She also looked like she didn't believe what I said.
"What?"
She didn't answer. She just grabbed my arm and pulled me inside. I immediately straightened myself.
"Table for two?" An usher asked us.
"Yes please." It was Honey who answered.
Before the person we were talking to could find a seat, I motioned for her to stop.
"Sir?"
"Follow me and I'll tell you where I want to sit."
I pulled Honey closer to Percy. They both don't see us which
makes it easier for me to walk closer to them.I stopped in front of them and so did Honey.
"Keifer?" Percy asks.
"Percy..." I said and turned to Jay. "...Jay."
She turned her head to face us and gave us a fake smile. "Are you there? I didn't notice."
"I didn't notice or really didn't care." It was Honey provoking
her.
"Both..." Jay answered.
"Maki..." Honey called me. "...introduce me to your friend
with blue eyes."
I almost arched a brow. She didn't know Percy? And why would she want
to know him? Even though I was surprised, I still did.
"Percy this is Honey Bee Raider. My lawyer's nephew." I tapped her
hands. "...Honey, this is Percy Coll—Mariano."
She offered her hand for a handshake and Percy accepted it.
Honey asks a question but I didn't hear her. My attention are all belong to
Jay-jay. I can't take my eyes off her. I don't want to and when I open my eyes, she's gone.
"Introductions are over... Go away." She said while smiling.
There's a bitter pain in my chest. I can't help but feel the pain.
"Rude." It was Honey.
I want to silence her because they might start a fight again.
"Jay, don't do that." Percy scolded her.
She obviously don't like it but choose to say nothing.
"We're eating here too, mind if we share a table?"
Finally! Honey ask the thing that I wanted to ask before. I knew they were against me so I immediately went ahead of them.
"That's a great idea."
I hand signal the usher and tell them my request. They immediately set up a pair of benches and a table for us. Jay immediately moved when he saw me sitting next to him.
The waiter handed us the menu.
"Red wine for four people." I said and handed the menu.
Honey said the type of steak I wanted. I didn't want to take my
eyes off my partner.Her short hair is waving a bit everytime she moves. On Ci-N's birthday I saw her hair. I just didn't pay attention because for me, no matter what hair she had. Even bald. "So, when did you become step-siblings?" Honey broke the silence. Jay answered her. "Please." I almost slapped my forehead. They are starting again. "I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to him." Honey pointed her finger to Percy. "I'm not talking to you too, I'm talking to..." searching for someone to point her finger. "... Him." Ended up to Percy. They exchanged glances before he agreed. "Y-yes ... he's talking to me." I shook my head in disbelief. He was just forced to sit down. Our order arrived and we started to eat. Except for Jay-jay. She's obviously having trouble slicing it. "Let me slice it for you." I said and about to grab her plate but she handed it to Percy. "Please cut ... Thank you!" She said while grinning. I want to fly my plate to Percy's face. I just want to treat her like a queen. My queen to be exact. "Percy, do you already have a girlfriend?" I almost arch a brow to honey. He was obviously interested in the future. What if he finds out Felix's brother? "W-nothing ..." Percy answered uncomfortably. Someone still haven't moved on. I can't blame him either, he loves Freya so much. "I'm just a comfort room." He said and leave. I still don't take my eyes off Jay. It's my chance to talk to him properly. "Honey ..." I called her. "...make him busy." Honey quickly stood up. "My pleasure." She said and followed Percy. I saw that Jay was restless. You can't leave. Not now that I have a chance. "We need to talk." I said. "You're already talking."So Savage. "Listen to me ..." I started. "... I don't know where to start—." "On the starting line." She cut me. My forehead crease and I'm starting to feel irritated. I loosened my necktie that I was about to remove. "Okay ..." I release a heavy sighs. "... I was there at the beginning." "In the end just for fun." She said while grinning. She's testing my patience. "Jay... I'm trying to be nice here." I said with authority. I also drank the glass of wine in front of me. I don't want to be angry now. Not here and not in front of him. "Please Jay. I want to explain everything to you. So I hope you get organized and listen to me." He became quiet so it entered my mind that he was letting me speak but I saw his sad eyes. "That's right Keifer. Don't explain." She said calmly but I can hear a bit of shake on her voice. I don't want to see him cry again because of the patience I'm doing. I'm ready to tell him everything just don't lose him. "I have to. I want you to know everything." "I don't want to ..." she looks down. "... I don't want to listen to you." I bit my lips. I don't want to force him because I might hurt him more. But if I don't say, when else? "That's enough ... please. I'm getting tired. I'm tired of loving you even though I'm not doing anything. I'm trying to stay away from you but you're pulling me back." I saw tears fell from her eyes. Don't stay away. You don't have to stay away. You have no reason to stay away from me. It's my fault. I'm the reason of your pain. "Why? Why are you running away from me?" I'm the one who should give you a space. "Because that's what I should. There's no reason for me to stay, right? I love you but you don't love me. No. That's not the right thing to do. You have lots and lots of reason to stay. I don't love you? Impossible! Truly impossible!I didn't say a thing. I let her speak. I'm letting her say the things that she
wanted to say before. All the pain and agony inside her.
"If you had to choose, I'd leave your Section. Because
your presence is making me suffer. When you're there, it feels like
my heart is breaking. Coming in is torture for me, c-c I want to tell the truth because I might lose her but if I
force her, she might leave me completely. Right now her mind is still closed because everything I did is still fresh in her mind.
She can't let go but since my presence is causing her pain, it might be better if I leave.
I put down the table napkin and stood up to get a little closer to
her.
"You..." I started and leaned closer to her. "...You're making me crazy."
She wipes her tear while looking at me confusedly.
I'm leaving like she wants but not to stop her. I'm doing this to make sure she won't have any more trouble because of me. I will work
hard for us. I will do anything for us. Because....
"I'm Mark Keifer Watson. I'm smarter than you think. I'm stronger
than you know..." I smirked. "...And I'm the King of Ulupongs."
From where I was standing I walked closer to her. I held her nape
to push her closer to me. Closer to my lips.
I am marking her now. Sealing a promise with our lips. She's mine and I
am hers.
I pulled a minute after to catch our breath. I leaned my forehead on hers. I don't want to let go but I have to. This is making me crazy but the
hell I care. Being in love makes everybody loose their sanity. They're just
denying it.
"You're the only one Jay... You're the only one who's ever made me suffer like this."I let go of her nape and sit at the chair next to her.
"You're the one making it hard for me." She said with irritation.
I hold her hand before kissing the back of it. I pressed it to my cheek
while staring at her. I'm exhausted but I will work hard just to win
this game.
In the stare I'm doing to her. It all comes back to me. Why
I'm doing this and if I'm still doing it.
"I'm scared." I said and force my lips to smile. "...I'm scared of many
things..."
But what scared me the most...
Is losing you.
I close my eyes while feeling the numbness in my throat. My eyes have a
mind of its own. My tears fall spontaneously in front of her. In front of
Jay-jay, the girl I love more than myself.
"Yuri is right. I lied to him, I lied to you and I lied to myself. I have
feelings for you that you can never imagine." I confess.
This is the right thing to do.
"K-keifer..."
I touched her cheek with one hand. She stiffened.
"I'm afraid to touch you even though I want to. I don't want to hurt you like I did to Freya. But when I'm consumed by jealousy, I can't help myself."
My lips form in a thin line thinking that I will become like my father.
Remembering those moments that I made her cry because of my too much
anger.
"...I won't let it happen again." I said and suddenly remembered
that we're leaving tonight.
I can't even celebrate my birthday with her. I
smiled and closed my eyes.
"My birthday is coming up and I want you as my gift."
I sensed her hesitation. She's having doubts and it's
normal. I let her go and wipe my fave using my bare hands.
"You want me to stop? Then I will." I paused and looked at her reaction.
"...but that's only for a while."
"What..." She released a heavy sighs. "...I'll stop but
for a while? W-why? What are you thinking?" Her forehead
creases with so much confusion."I'm giving you space."
I know she's probably thinking about spaceship now.
"...But when I return. You're officially mine either you like it or not."
She's about to complain when someone jumps in front of us. It was Percy
with a messy hair and clothes.
She tried to pull Jay-jay and hurried away. I just let them
go because they looked scared of that one.
"Where's Percy?" Honey asked before sitting by my side.
"Leave. He got scared of you." I said and took a sip from my glass
of wine.
She pouted her lips. "I thought he was enjoying himself. I'm still in full performance."
I arched a brow. Full performance where? What did he do?
"Maybe he don't like it."
She looked at me in horror. "He did like it."
"What did you do?"
She smiled mischievously. "What do you think?"
I didn't answer but more like I don't want to answer. My imagination will
not stop playing with me once I found out what it is. So better keep it in the
dark.
"You're not answering." She said and picked up her phone. "What's his
full name? I'll add him on facebook."
"Percy Rey Collins." I meant to use his previous last name.
As I expected Honey looked at me in shock. I smirked.
"OMG! He's the brother of—aaaaahhhhkkkk!"
I held my ear because of the loudness of his scream. People immediately
looked at us.
I just let her go. I was more worried about leaving later.
I haven't seen her in a long time. I hope I can last a day without
seeing her.
