Chapter 133 - Chapter 133 - Reproductive Isolation

"Hm? You want to enroll in St. Freya Academy and study for a while?"

Theresa looked at Xin Yu, who had come to her office holding hands with Kiana and announced his desire to become a student. She didn't quite understand the situation.

Hadn't he said before that he wouldn't be staying? Why the sudden change of heart? Was it because of Kiana?

As if noticing Theresa's quizzical gaze, Kiana cheerfully held up their intertwined hands, their pinkies still linked, as if declaring her victory.

"Kiana's academic performance isn't the best," Xin Yu explained. "I'd like to help her achieve better grades. But as her boyfriend, if I'm not studying properly myself, I don't really have the right to say anything. So, I made a promise with her to be a student and study here for a while. Besides, I feel my own knowledge is somewhat lacking. After all, I never actually graduated from high school."

That's right, a 200-plus-year-old high school student who had yet to graduate.

Then again, it wasn't that big a deal. After all, there was a certain Previous Era warrior in the school who was tens of thousands of years old and still pretending to be a high school girl.

"So that's how it is. No problem," Theresa said. "I'll get your enrollment paperwork processed right away. However, as you know, the Thousand Feathers Academy you previously attended was destroyed in the Third Honkai Eruption, so you'll need to fill in a lot of your information yourself."

Theresa had absolutely no objections to Xin Yu enrolling in St. Freya. After all, he was her niece's boyfriend. And in terms of character, a person willing to sacrifice his own life to save others couldn't be a bad person.

Theresa took a paper form from her desk drawer. It was for recording basic personal information.

Xin Yu picked up a fountain pen from the side and bent over to fill out the form. When he got to the section for age, he hesitated for a moment before reluctantly writing down the number '16'.

He had forgotten his own exact age. By a true count, he was definitely over 200, but his current appearance was that of a young man. If he actually wrote down '200-plus', he felt people would think he was just messing around.

When it came to listing family members, Xin Yu silently wrote 'None'. He had, in fact, tried to investigate his background identity before. The relatives supposedly living abroad simply didn't exist.

There was, however, an anonymous account abroad that would deposit a sum of money into his bank account at the beginning of each month.

If he were to trace the source of that account, Xin Yu found he simply couldn't. With his current abilities, the only possibility for a causal source he couldn't pinpoint was the mysterious entity that had brought him to this world.

After he finished filling out the form, Theresa gave it a cursory glance and put the file away before looking up to speak to Xin Yu.

"As you know, St. Freya Academy is a bit special. It's dedicated to training warriors to fight the Honkai, and those with high adaptability and resistance to the Honkai are overwhelmingly female. This school has never had a single male student enroll since the day it opened. Because of that, there might be some issues with daily life, and as for your accommodation, I was planning on arranging for you to stay with Wa—"

"No need!" Kiana interrupted Theresa. "Xin Yu can just live with me! We're boyfriend and girlfriend, there's no problem with us living together."

"Kiana, you two aren't married yet..."

"But I don't have a household registration book, so I can't get registered. How about this, Auntie? You pull some strings and get Xin Yu and me two registration books, the kind that lets us register for marriage right away."

Theresa was rendered speechless by Kiana's words. Finally, she rubbed her temples in exasperation. "Could you put a lid on your wild ideas for a moment? Even if you two live together, are you forgetting that you're in a female dormitory? Are you planning to have your boyfriend move into a building that's entirely full of girls?"

"That's not happening! I can accept Mei, but I absolutely cannot accept anyone else!"

"Auntie, if it really comes down to it, I'll just switch dorms and move in somewhere with Xin Yu."

"...Kiana! Right now! Immediately! Disappear from my office!"

Seeing that her great-aunt was about to lose her temper, Kiana stuck out her tongue, winked at Xin Yu, and immediately bolted out the door.

After Kiana left, Theresa let out a long breath, calming her agitated heart. She turned to Xin Yu and said, "Sorry, I got a little emotional just now."

"It's quite all right," Xin Yu said. "It's natural for a family elder to get a bit heated when their niece is causing trouble. You're just doing what's best for her."

Xin Yu produced a teapot and a teacup from somewhere, and after pouring a cup, he smilingly offered it to Theresa.

Theresa was a little curious about where he had just pulled a teapot and teacup from, but hearing Xin Yu's words, she immediately felt she had to maintain the demeanor of a proper elder and not poke her head around like a little girl driven by curiosity.

Theresa sat up straight, cleared her throat, and accepted the tea from Xin Yu. She took a sip and was slightly taken aback. The tea tasted surprisingly good, with a faint floral aroma, and after drinking it, she felt the fatigue in her body lessen considerably.

"This is some tea I roasted myself. Drinking it can help one get better sleep and also alleviate some physical fatigue. As the Principal, you have to manage such a large academy and handle so many matters, you must be exhausted. Please consider this a small token of respect from a junior."

Theresa accepted the wooden box of tea leaves that Xin Yu offered her, a little stunned. For some reason, this young man before her was starting to look more and more agreeable! Kiana had really found herself a good boyfriend.

"Regarding your dormitory arrangements, there's a detached two-story villa on campus for accommodating visiting personnel. It was originally meant for specialists sent over from headquarters, but headquarters rarely sends anyone over these days, and even if they do, there are other places for them to stay. So, you can live there."

Since Theresa had accepted Xin Yu's tea, and now considered herself his elder, she figured she should show him some favor.

"Thank you, Principal Theresa."

Xin Yu picked up the documents that were already prepared on the desk, ready to head to the school's logistics department to get the key to the villa and prepare some daily necessities.

"Wait... um..."

Theresa stammered, making Xin Yu look back at her in confusion.

"You're both still young... you need to... take safety precautions..."

Theresa felt her face must be bright red, maybe even burning hot.

"Of course, of course."

Xin Yu understood what Theresa meant. He agreed quickly and then swiftly departed.

In reality, safety precautions were completely unnecessary. After all, that... stuff of his... was less a genetic material and more a kind of energy-infused liquid.

Moreover, there was reproductive isolation.

This was also the reason why, after 200 years, Sakura had never become pregnant.
