Chapter 10 - Questions Rising...

"Wow, did that really happen? Are you sure about what you're saying?" The other maids who listened to the maid who talked to them about the Luna's new behaviour wanted to hear more.

"Yes, I swear to the moon goddess. I heard her talking to herself. At first, I thought it was a joke, I mean, everyone talks to themselves, right? But there was something that made it awkward."

The maid talking was a maid who had been in Pamela's room, and she had noticed something interesting, wanting to share it with her friends.

"I swear she was talking to herself, but what caught my attention was the fact that she was calling herself Asena. It was almost like there was another person in her body."

"Oh wow, really?" One of the maids said.

"Hmm… How are you sure you aren't hearing things, huh?" They were all trying to understand the situation when another voice came from behind.

"What did you say?"

They all turned their heads at the same time, and their faces turned pale. The person most affected was the girl that spoke. She was so scared about what could happen that a lump formed in her throat. She was trying to tell a lie, but it seemed Pamela's brother had gotten the whole story.

"What were you telling them?"

She started to shake, afraid of taking over her body, but then he tried to convince her.

"Don't worry, I don't bite. I just wanted to be sure I heard right. What were you saying--"

The rest of the maids lowered their heads, leaving the main person who started the conversation to face the person in front of her.

"I'm listening--" he expressed.

"I-- I saw the Luna… Um," she started to stammer, and break her sentences, but he allowed her.

"I saw her speaking to herself in the mirror, but at the end, she-- she called herself, um, she called a strange name, Asena--"

He was stunned, and worried about the way things were. His heart skipped a beat, and he immediately furrowed his brows.

"Hmm, I see…" He expressed, and then exhaled, making the girls feel relieved.

"Listen up all of you, look at me!" He expressed in a commanding tone, causing them to actually turn their gazes towards him.

"I don't want anyone else to know about this. Do you understand?" He expressed with a serious look on his face. The girls nodded. They didn't expect him to say something, or do anything like that. He was even shocked about the way things turned out.

They nodded, scurrying their way out of there. He stared at them, his mind pondering on what they had said.

After what seemed like a while, he walked away from there, leaving the place empty.

"No, this can't be!" The leader of the dealers slammed his hands against the table, a very angry look on his face.

"This wasn't what I was expecting, this wasn't!" He yelled, breathing hard. He had been trying to contain the anger he felt since everything started going south, but now it seemed he had lost it.

The men that served him remained quiet, watching how he expressed. "All I wanted was simple. I wanted to keep her in my custody so as to be able to bring Ray down since she was his weakness, but for some reason, she was able to escape our grip, damn it!" He yelled, slamming his hands against the ground.

His chest drummed loudly, and he tried to contain it. "We need a new plan, I need to come up with something that can work out. I need to--" he paused, his anger slowly fading away as a smirk started to form on his lips.

"Yes. I'll eliminate her, and after that, I'm going to make sure to put an end to all this, and maybe then, Ray will come to his senses."

As soon as he concluded his plans, he picked up his phone, proceeding to dial Ray's number. He wanted to make sure it happened as soon as possible.

"Good afternoon," Ray greeted, immediately apologising for what happened earlier.

"There's no need for that, Ray. In Fact, I want to propose another deal to you, but the deal can't be said on the phone, and that's why I want us to meet up."

"Again?" Ray asked, wanting to be sure.

"Yes, and make sure to bring the lady along, it's best if we are on good terms."

"Yes, that's the best. I'll make sure to do that. I'll be waiting for the message to come from you."

"No problem. The same place, but I'll set the date and time. As long as she's going to come along."

"Yes she will. I'll make sure of it," Ray explained as the call ended.

Hearing that he had an opportunity to strike a deal, he decided.to make it count.

Ray called his beta Phil, and started giving him the necessary information on what to do.

"Don't you think that's too much? There's no need to pursue her continuously. If she doesn't want you any more, maybe it's best you go after another--"

"How dare you?!" Ray got so mad, he interrupted Phil. "I am the alpha, and I'm going to do whatever I want. Do you understand? Go convince her to go for another meeting with me, else, your head will be served on a platter."

Even when he didn't want to go on the errand, he had no choice now. He had to make sure he did it.

Asena just arrived home when he noticed how the sitting room was. She paused for a few seconds, staring at everyone before proceeding to move.

"So I went to--" she started the conversation, thinking her brother's wanted to know where she was, but she was interrupted.

"Who are you?" Her butt was above the seat, and she furrowed her brows.

"Pamela of course. Why would you even ask that?" She tried to defend herself, but before she could get to balance herself, she got another bone chilling question.

"Then who's Asena?"
