Charlotte looked at Luna. Over the years, Luna had been constantly changing, not abruptly, but in every little aspect of life. She had seen Luna become a normal person, yet still unable to escape her turbulent fate.
She could probably understand how Luna appeared calm on the surface, but was internally experiencing turmoil. It was a feeling she could deeply relate to.
Just like when she had just returned to the United States, lying alone in a hospital room, fearing that Mia wouldn't survive, fearing Atlas Hallow would find her. Even after returning home, there was a period when it was like this.
Her mind was in such chaos she couldn't see herself clearly, and these were things she had to slowly go through on her own. No one could replace her.
Much like when Atlas asked her on the plane why, despite hating so intensely at first, she eventually forgave him.
It seems everyone has to go through things alone until suddenly one day, they come to understand and find enlightenment.
