Her body was sticky with sweat, and it seemed like there wasn't even a place to take a shower. Charlotte decided not to care about anything else; she just wanted to return to her and Ethan's company. At least there would be security there, and Oliver would definitely come. Atlas couldn't possibly blow up the whole building, right?
Dragging her exhausted body, Charlotte kept walking along the path out of the ruins, her eyes so blurry that she couldn't see clearly. She just wanted to leave this place, to leave where Atlas was.
Suddenly, she felt a pair of hands grabbing her from behind, followed by a particular scent overwhelming her. Her vision went black, and her entire body softened as she fainted.
"Mom, hurry up..." she faintly heard two women talking before she passed out.
It's rare for this city to have such a major case, and when it happens, it's so bloody it's terrifying.
