Casey felt a shiver run down her spine as she sensed a presence looming behind her. She spun around, her heart racing, and was met with the imposing figure of Alpha Vlad. For a moment, she was scared, but as their eyes met, she felt a wave of relief wash over her. Vlad's piercing gaze seemed to bore into her soul, but his presence was also strangely calming.
She forced a smile onto her face and greeted him, trying to sound casual despite the butterflies in her stomach. "Alpha Vlad, hi. I was just on my way to check on Lily."
Vlad's expression was unreadable, but he nodded slightly. "The children are still in the middle of their lessons, Casey. I don't think it's a good idea to interrupt them right now."
Casey hesitated, feeling a twinge of disappointment. Vlad took a step closer to her, his movements fluid and powerful. "How has the pack house been treating you, Casey? Has everyone been...good to you?"
