Standing on the battlefield, the girl held a claymore impaled on an enemy. Around her, there was a heat that made the knights in war sweat along with the blood splattered on their skins. The screams filled the whole battlefield, which finally came to an end. In the midst of that chaos, the girl stood quietly, undisturbed by the commotion. The crimson red eyes read the contents of the letter as a malicious smile appeared on her lips.
"Eh... a mission? It seems like it's time to go home." Taking a deep breath she raised her head and turned back, where she saw an imperial knight "Hey, prepare my horse, I'm going back to the capital."
"Yes, my lady!"
The knight quickly dispersed between the battlefield, returning to camp. While waiting for her horse, the girl removed her claymore from the fallen enemy and went to the vice-captain to warn him of her departure.
"This is good. Take the opportunity to send this message to Grand Duke Grimwood" The deputy captain handed her a scroll "We will only capture the hostages and have them sign the treaty of surrender. Then we can go home."
"Is that all?"
"Yeah. And don't lose the document this time."
Sticking her tongue, the girl took the scroll and turned to leave the battlefield. Would ignore the mockery about her gift of losing things, since she needed to come back soon. Wiping the blood off her skin and changing her clothes, the girl put on a pair of black pants with red stripes on the side, a white shirt and a black coat with red details. Finishing the change of clothes with her cap of the same color, she soon left her tent to find her horse.
"Thank you, cutie" She blinked charmingly to the knight, who blushed without being able to answer her.
"Hey! How can a lady walk in pants!!!" Shouted the Vice Captain upon arriving at camp "Don't you dare show up in the Imperial Palace like that, bratl!"
"Bye, old man!!" She waved in response after getting on the horse.
Holding the reins, it did not take long for the girl to leave in a rush, leaving the camp behind.
"The lady is a very free spirit, isn't it, sir?" commented the knight with the rosy cheeks.
"So free to the point that many do not accept this spirit of yours. Now, stop dreaming and come help me with the wounded."
The vice-captain dragged the young knight with him. Meanwhile, a few meters away, the girl rode freely, as they said about her. Long blonde hair flew with the wind, leaving a trail of sweet pheromones that an omega could have.
The horse crossed the forest to reach the main road where it took a well-known path. Squeezing her fingers in the reins, the wind that was beating against her face made her crave for more of that feeling of freedom that a good ride gave her. The horse seemed to respond to his desire, and accelerated without blinking.
Temple of the Goddess Kronosis - Capital of Roveaven
The night brought a silence that made the priests end their activities. Finally came to an end the pilgrimage through the capital, where the priests divided into groups to visit the sick and make prayers to bless the commoners. Skyler sighed heavily as he threw herself into a upholstery, feeling his back ache from walking so much.
"Your Holiness, we need to make the report and send it to His Majesty" a young boy recalled.
"Huh?" Skyler grumbled, just raising his eyes to the boy "I'd rather go see him myself when I feel that I have legs again."
"But, Your Holiness, do you know that he will ask for a report to be documented..."
"Oh, please... leave me with my laziness. Just for today."
The priest twisted his lips, worried. Skyler had risen to the position of High Priest when his predecessor passed away. Since then he has been taken by piles and piles of work, which went against his lazy nature. Although, even so, Skyler found a way to sleep between the documents, just as he did before.
But there was no priest there to complain about their new leader. Skyler was only the best. Defeated, without even trying, the priest sighed and smiled briefly.
"All right, we can take care of that tomorrow when you feel refreshed. But don't think you'll be running away from your duties again."
"Right, right, good luck to all of us common mortals" Skyler nodded, already closing his eyes about to sleep.
Just need a rest. A night's sleep that could last until the next night. If Skyler could hibernate like a bear, it would be even better.
That is... until the confusion came to himyou again.
A commotion came to Skyler's ears. He chose to ignore, hoping that everything would be resolved on its own. However, the priests' voices began to get loud, disrupting their process of "laziness". Skyler snored angrily, getting up from the couch and walking to his office window.
"Can't you guys be quiet?!!! It's night..."
"Hey, white dove!"
That voice is...
Skyer felt a chill go through his spine. From his office, he saw the girl sitting on the temple wall, with a malicious smile and crimson eyes shining at night. Immediately Skyler felt a vein pop on his forehead.
"You again?"
"Did you missed me? You're still beautiful as always" She widened her smile.
"I thought you were in the border war" Skyler grumbled as he leaned against the window and crossed his arms.
The girl had a lovely laugh. She crossed her legs and leaned to one side exposing her neck. She seemed to make a point of exposing her curves too, since the pants and shirt did a good job. However, Skyler remained passable only staring at her red eyes.
"I had to come back since I was called back. Ah, and this time I made a point to clean all the blood before coming, so I'm ready to hear your compliments."
"Huh? Clean up the blood? I don't remember asking for anything like that before" Skyler frowned.
"Wow, that coldness" She laughed sweetly "Come on, come on, my beautiful white dove, I didn't want to dirty your clothes when I finally put my hands on you."
"Hey, show respect to the High Priest!!!" shouted a knight from the temple, pointing his spear at the girl.
She didn't seem bothered, though.
"Excuse me, kiddo, adults talking here" She shook her hand, as if it were a mosquito and not the tip of a spear.
"This girl..."
Skyler sighed heavily and signaled the temple's knights to retreat. Obeying his orders, they turned away their spears, though remaining vigilant.
"Be direct. What are you doing here?"
"Of course, I came to pick up my dad."
Scratching his neck, Skyler remembered that he was not the only one in that temple to be busy with the Pilgrimage. Only that they were in different groups, and had no idea if that guy had already returned.
"Did you jump the inner garden wall just to come and get the Saint? Shouldn't you have used the front door?"
"I came to see my little dove too, of course..."
"Kiana Grimwood, get down from there!" Shouted a voice.
The girl shuddered and looked down, seeing the golden-haired prince. Immediately she smiled sweetly and jumped over the wall, running to him. Lovingly, Kiana hugged her father and rubbed her face on his chest, smelling his pheromones.
"Daddy! I missed you, did you missed me too? Say yes, I know you did..."
Lucian sighed and hugged his daughter, stroking her golden hair.
"Frankly, how can you be identical to your father, hm? I have already told you not to behave like that when you are in the Temple."
"Eh? I don't know what you're talking about."
She seemed the innocence in person, although moments ago she was brazenly flirting with Skyler. The prince cast a glance at Skyler, making a sign for the High Priest to take advantage of the cue to go rest. The beta readily accepted, giving up completely having to deal with a Grimwood as intense as Kiana.
"Let's go home, huh? Dad is waiting for us."
"Right, right, let's go."
Before his daughter caused more trouble inside the temple, Lucian followed her on her horse. This time, they used the gateway in a civilized way. Lucian felt exhausted because of the pilgrimage, but was happy to see his daughter back home.
As they made their way to the other side of town, Lucian observed his daughter's silhouette. She had grown even more when away from his eyes. Although already adult, and independent, Kiana did not stop surprising him. He remembered her first steps, her first words, her little teeth falling and her belief in fairies.
Now the little girl who loved playing with a wooden sword has become a strong woman. The sense of accomplishment filled Lucian's chest, who hugged his daughter. Kiana looked over her shoulder, but did not complain. She was simply attached to Lucian — to the point of making her other father jealous.
As soon as they arrived at Grimwood Manor, the two went to the Grand Duke's office. Kiana carried Lucian in her arms, still longing for his smell.
"Honey, put your father down, please." Lucian asked embarassed.
"Just a little more daddy~" She smiled, kicking the door of the office and smiling victorious to the man sitting behind the table "I'm home, old man!"
Magnus raised his crimson eyes dangerously to the door, watching Kiana carry Lucian in her arms. A vein sprang on his forehead, causing him to squeeze his fingers in the pen.
"I see you already stuck to your father, your little tick."
"Hm? Your vision is good, eh old man?"
"You two are... please, the demonstration of affection of you makes me dizzy" Jumping from his daughter's arms, Lucian went to the table of his husband and turned around hugging him. "I'm back, baby."
The omega shuddered slightly, but kept his composure even though it melted a little to the smell of Lucian's pheromones.
"It's late. I remember saying that you could stay only a few days away."
"But I did. Anyway, I'm on vacation from my temple duties, and thought we'd go back to the Grimwood territory during the season."
"It wouldn't be a bad idea. We can leave the brats behind, since they need to be socially active."
"Hey, old man, are you talking about me so brazenly?" Kiana moaned crossing her arms "Frankly, you're not honest at all. But I know you missed me and are happy to see me back too."
Magnus held the waist of the alpha and brought it to his lap. He made a point of facing Kiana, with some arrogance for having in possession Lucian, but not denying the words of the omega.
"I heard of your exploits on the battlefield. You did well, as a Grimwood should."
A proud smile appeared on her lips. But Magnus was not surprised, after he personally trained his daughter to take his place in the future. To the point of Lucian finding that the two were too identical in certain respects.
However, there was still something missing in that family.
