Selene let out a sharp scream, her voice carried by the cold wind.
Alex's eyes widened as he looked below. His instincts took over.
He reached out and grabbed both Selene and Hati in mid-air, twisting his body sideways
BOOM!
A laser-like blue beam of breath exploded through the space they had just occupied.
Alex's heart thundered. He gritted his teeth, pulling both Selene and Hati close, shielding them with his body.
BOOM!!
Alex fell on the cold ground, with Hati and Selene protected against his chest.
Cough! Cough!
A spray of blood burst from Alex's mouth as the trio crashed into the ground.
Dust billowed around them, swallowing them in a choking haze.
Alex, breath ragged and body trembling, forced the words out:
"Hati… teleport… back…!"
Hati's eyes snapped open.
Purple light surged from his body once again—
Plop!
In a flash, they vanished, and the scene returned to silence.
Back at the cave, the purple light pulsed softly as the trio reappeared.
