Chapter 30 - Enemies Meet Again

Even though Ryan had been trained to remain calm in the face of adversity, he still felt a little dazed when he saw the white wolf.

He was unable to react for a moment. How could the white wolf suddenly appear on this yacht?

It had been over a month since the wolf had left the mountain mansion.

In Ryan's estimation, the white wolf either starved to death or drowned.

Ryan would never have thought that he would meet his enemy here.

Ryan had no time to dwell on the thought, for he had already seen the wolf's eyes glowing green as it leaped from the second deck of the yacht, pouncing towards him.

Ryan's eyes hardened. He quickly stood up and ran to the first deck, then he immediately grabbed the assault rifle hanging on his waist, aimed at the white wolf that fell to the ground, and pulled the trigger.

Click, click, click!

When he heard a series of clicking sounds, Ryan paused, for after pulling the trigger, no bullets were fired.

What the hell?

Ryan's expression changed slightly. He suddenly realized that the gun had been submerged in water for over ten hours, likely causing the malfunction.

Realizing the gun was useless, Ryan didn't hesitate; he turned and ran straight towards the direction of the helm.

He had noticed the location of the helm when he came up.

There was an iron door there, and although he didn't know if it could withstand the wolf's claws, it could buy him some time to inspect the assault rifle.

Although Ryan's physical strength was exhausted, in a life-or-death situation, human potential was boundless..

Especially since Ryan thought that he could go back as long as he could survive the last ten hours, he certainly didn't want to die at the hands of this beast.

Fortunately, the helm was not far from the stern, only five or six meters away. Ryan sprinted desperately, reaching the cabin door in less than two seconds.

As he ran headlong, he had already heard the thunderous footsteps behind him, accompanied by a strong, pungent odor.

Ryan's heart sank. With the fastest speed, he pulled open the cabin door, slammed it shut, and locked it.

Bang!

The door slammed loudly.

After being blocked outside, the white wolf stared fixedly at Ryan through the transparent glass on the door, as if it wanted to devour him.

Ryan breathed a sigh of relief. He glanced at the white wolf, quickly took off the lifebuoy and the waterproof bag containing food, and then began to check the assault rifle.

Ryan knew nothing about firearms, so he could only try to take apart all the parts that could be disassembled to see what went wrong.

As he dismantled it, he discovered the magazine and barrel were water-filled.

Ryan could only shake the water out of the magazine and barrel, reassemble them, and try again.

In just a short while, the white wolf had smashed the glass on the door with one claw, extending its claws in an attempt to grab Ryan.

However, the glass was only half a meter long and wide, so the wolf couldn't fit its head through, only its paw.

Ryan sneered, aimed the reassembled assault rifle at the wolf again, and pulled the trigger.

Crack!

The expression on Ryan's face froze instantly, feeling an extreme sense of frustration. He had never heard of modern firearms becoming unusable after being submerged in water.

But he had encountered such a ridiculous situation.

Ryan looked at the relentlessly thrashing white wolf outside and suddenly realized that it was likely caused by this damn game.

As the end was near, it had given him another surprise "gift."

Ryan furrowed his brow, looked at the thrashing wolf outside, and contemplated a strategy.

His gaze swept around the helm, searching for something to use as a weapon.

Soon, Ryan's eyes suddenly focused on a fire axe on the cabin wall.

Ryan knew clearly that this was the game's last lifeline for him.

The assault rifle was useless, but it had given him a cold weapon.

Ryan did not hesitate at all. He opened the firebox and took out the fire axe inside. He raised his hands and chopped down at the claw the white wolf stretched out.

Although the wolf was thrashing outside, it could see what was happening inside.

Seeing Ryan raising the axe and chopping down, it seemed to sense the danger and quickly began to retract its claws.

But it was retracted too quickly, and although it avoided Ryan's axe, it suddenly hit the broken glass of the window, leaving a gash.

Blood immediately seeped out, staining the white fur on the wolf's leg.

The white wolf howled miserably, waved its claws angrily, and rammed the cabin door again, making it bang loudly.

Ryan didn't feel any other emotions after missing the attack. Instead, he quickly took a few steps back and sat in the driver's seat.

There was no necessity for him to engage in a life-and-death struggle with the white wolf anymore. He just needed to wait until the countdown was over.

Ryan looked at the wolf pounding the door with a calm expression, picked up the food on the ground, and began eating.

As he ate and drank, he leisurely watched the wolf pound the door, as if watching a show, showing no sign of worry that the door would be broken.

The wolf suddenly stopped pounding and stared fixedly at the beef jerky Ryan was eating, its eyes glowing green and saliva dripping from its mouth.

Ryan, seeing this scene, couldn't help but pause slightly. He naturally realized that the wolf was clearly extremely hungry.

Unsurprisingly, the beast lunged at him when it spotted him boarding the boat. Starved to the bone, it probably saw him as dinner served straight to its paws.

Ryan suddenly laughed and shook the beef jerky that still exuded a strong aroma in front of whit wolf.

The wolf's huge head followed Ryan's hand with the beef jerky, and then it saw Ryan drop the beef jerky on the ground and stomp on it a few times with his foot.

The white wolf was stunned for a moment, its eyes revealed murderous intent and extreme anger, and it began to bang on the cabin door wildly.

Under the immense force of the impact, the cabin door began to deform slightly, but there were still no signs of it being broken open.

Ryan remained calm, slowly taking out the beef jerky and eating it, watching the wolf continue to pound the door.

Ryan was well aware that the wolf had likely been hungry for quite some time, and now exerting such force to pound the door would only accelerate its physical exhaustion.

The harder it pounded, the weaker it would become later, and death would be near.

Ryan hadn't guessed wrong. After a brief frenzy, the wolf stopped this meaningless action and suddenly ran towards the port side of the yacht.

In confusion, Ryan looked through the window on the left and was shocked to see the white wolf gnawing on a skull.
