Time has flown by and finally it's Flash Day. It's a celebration organized by the city authorities to thank the hero, and to give him the key to the city. Most of the rubble had been removed and many buildings rebuilt, the city was finally more or less rebuilt. This kind of celebration made me laugh a little bit, because Flash totally didn't deserve to be rewarded for saving the city. If it wasn't for Firestorm, all those people would have died a long time ago. They don't seem to care much, all they saw was a bright flash rushing into the singularity, so you can't blame them. Barry gives people hope, I agree with that, he has his uses too. But on that day, it wasn't hope or faith that saved all those people, it was Ronnie Raymond. If anyone deserved that key, it was him. I remember the Flash coming to get it, but he didn't deserve it. Who did deserve it was his whole team, because without them Barry is just an idiot with super speed. The only reason he's still alive is because of this weird world someone created, and also because of his friends. Anyway, I wanted to get something straight, so I was going to show up at this "celebration."

Atomic Destroyer will show up there as well, but I haven't wanted to make contact with him yet. His abilities give me mixed feelings. On the one hand I would like to have them, but on the other, I was a little wary. The power and the ability to increase in size were certainly coveted by me. But there were a couple things stopping me. First was my suit, it just wasn't designed for the size this guy was capable of growing to. Of course the problem was that I could just not get any bigger. This guy had tremendous strength without augmentation. He was like Rust, just less durable and more powerful. His strength didn't depend on his weight, but on his energy. The more energy he absorbed, the stronger he became. I could conserve it if I didn't increase my size. The second problem was that very energy, he was feeding on radiation and could maintain his strength thanks to it. The problem was that I'd probably have to absorb the radiation as well as he did, and that was a problem. I don't know what would happen if I stopped absorbing it altogether, but I didn't want to test it. Plus, if I took his powers, I might unknowingly absorb radiation around me, which meant I could be found, just like Flash found the Destroyer. All in all, the problems were unpleasant. I had plenty of questions about his ability, so I had to see for myself. If I caught him and asked him a couple questions and ran some experiments, I could decide what to do with him. The problem is that catching him won't be easy, and even if I do, what then? His power is enough to break out of any shackles, and that could cause problems, up to the destruction of my base. I don't want to take any chances, so I need to come up with a plan, there's still a couple hours before the main event of the day.

An hour and a half later I arrived at the square where the handing over of the key to the city to Flash was to take place. There were quite a few people already there, and I noticed Cisco and Joe West among them. I was on the roof of one of the buildings nearby, so as not to shine. Still, my suit is quite conspicuous. When the time comes I'll go down and say a few words to these people, there's something they should know.

When the time came, the mayor of the city took the stage and began his speech. After the speech about the saviors of the city, I decided to intervene.

By appearing abruptly on stage, I caused some people to panic. Some of them were frightened, and some of them behaved quite calmly. It wasn't surprising, not many people had seen me in this costume yet. If they knew who I was, the situation might have changed a bit. Regular people had heard about me, and the cops even had plans to catch me, but I'd gone into hiding for a few months, so they had to put it on hold.

The guards immediately closed on the mayor and raised their weapons, pointing them at me.

«Who the hell are you?!

I grinned and said:

«Put your guns away and don't get hurt, I'm here to say a few words to these people. So stay out of the way.

The guard didn't even listen to me and kept yelling:

«Tell me who you are, now! Or I'll shoot you!

To this I only shook my head, then moved behind the guards' backs.

*♪ Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang ♪

A few blows and they were lying unconscious. After that people started to panic, so I went to the microphone and said:

«Calm down, I'm not gonna hurt you, that's not why I'm here. I'm here to tell you the truth.

Some people who were about to run away stopped. They seemed to be curious, but some continued to run away. I could only sigh at that and continue on:

«Flash Day is a great holiday, you all think of him as the hero who saved Central City, but do you know the truth? On that day, it wasn't just the Flash, your lives were saved by someone else, someone you don't even know about. This man died sacrificing himself, and the Flash was powerless. - After I said that, a lot of people's faces changed, I could see that many of them didn't believe me, but they had doubts. I didn't care what they thought, I just wanted to tell the truth. Whether they would accept it, whether they would believe me, I didn't care. I just wanted them to know the name of their savior, even if they didn't believe me.

At that moment, a flash blinked in the square, and then Flash appeared beside me. People started to cheer, and he kept his eyes on me.

«You. Why are you here? - Barry asked seriously.

I grinned:

«Oh, so you recognized me?

Flash hummed:

«I heard about your new suit, looks pretty flashy.

«Maybe, but it's so much better than latex, you heroes have a real fetish for that kind of clothing. - As I glanced over Barry's suit, I grinned: - Does it fit so comfortably?

«Ha! Better than your hardware.

I smiled and looked at the people near the stage, then said:

«Firestorm saved your lives, even though Flash was involved, he's definitely not the hero who saved you. - Looking at Barry, I asked: - Isn't that right Flash?

Barry lowered his head a little, then looked at the men afterward:

«That's right, that day, I did almost nothing....
