Chapter 188 - Chapter 188: The Demon Among Us!

After hearing Harrison's words, Davis sneered, his laughter growing more and more mocking.

"Hahaha, Director Bruce, doesn't the FBI have a technical department?"

"Since the USB drive is encrypted, just have them decrypt it!"

"What? Can't crack it?"

Even though he was trapped, Davis wasn't foolish enough to reveal the password to the USB drive.

Once the contents of the USB were exposed, he'd be completely finished.

He'd be locked away for life!

And Davis also knew that the USB contained a self-destruct program.

If the technical department tried to crack it, the files inside would be erased.

That's why, even though the USB had been in Bud's hands for a while, it was eventually placed in the vault rather than decrypted, which would have crushed Davis in one go.

Bruce placed the USB on the table and slowly walked up to Davis. The two of them locked eyes, and the tension was thick.

"Davis, I'm giving you one more chance. What's the password?"

"Otherwise, I'll make sure the next few hours are worse than death for you."

Davis showed no fear at Bruce's threat. He sneered in contempt.

"Hahaha, is this all the FBI can do? They can't even handle an encrypted USB drive!"

Seeing this, Bruce knew Davis wouldn't cooperate. He turned and grabbed the USB, quickly leaving the interrogation room.

Bruce hadn't expected the technical department to be stumped by an encrypted USB drive; this had never happened before.

Now, Bruce roughly understood. The gift Zhang Yang had given him— the USB drive— actually belonged to Davis.

But regardless, the higher-ups were still waiting for an answer.

"Shit! That disgusting Davis, and that damn Kaitō Kid!"

"This USB drive was the reason Davis sought out Kaitō Kid, but he also conveniently stole the gold-threaded jade suit from the vault!"

Harrison nodded thoughtfully.

After a long pause, Harrison suddenly came up with a bold idea.

"Maybe you can ask Kaitō Kid to help decrypt the USB drive."

Upon hearing this, Bruce stared at Harrison in disbelief, not understanding what he meant.

Just then, Bruce received a call from his superior, pressing him for an update.

After handling the call, Bruce's expression grew even darker.

The operation had not only failed but had caused a massive negative impact.

Now, even a simple encrypted USB drive couldn't be handled. Bruce had no excuses left for himself.

Once the truth about the tigers and Bud's deaths was revealed, the whole world was now focused on the USB drive.

[What's going on with the USB drive? Why didn't Bruce mention it in the video?]

[Oh my god! What gift would Kaitō Kid give to Bruce? What's inside the USB drive?]

[Could it be some kind of top-secret information?]

[Where did Kaitō Kid get that USB drive? From the Rensa Group vault?]

[I'm looking forward to Bruce revealing the contents of the USB drive. This situation can't just end here, right?]

This was a gift from Kaitō Kid to Bruce— a first of its kind— and it was bound to spark curiosity.

Under mounting pressure from various sides, Bruce reluctantly sent Zhang Yang a private message. However, he worried that the truth might already be out and Zhang Yang would ignore him.

Harrison assured him to just send it; he had full confidence in Zhang Yang's integrity.

"No, Bruce, he will definitely help you!"

"First, he gave you the USB drive to let you see what's inside!"

"Second, he promised, and he will keep his word."

Bruce stared at Harrison for a long time, his expression complex, before he reluctantly nodded and picked up his phone to send a private message.

"Davis won't give up the password. Tell me what the password is?"

"You promised that as long as I reveal the truth about the Rensa Group operation, you'd tell me the password!"

After sending the message, Bruce felt utterly embarrassed.

The shame felt like being stripped naked and standing on a huge stage in front of everyone.

He never imagined that one day, he would be asking Kaitō Kid for help!

When Zhang Yang received the private message, he was actually quite surprised.

Just as Davis said, the FBI headquarters had a professional technical department, but they couldn't even crack an encrypted USB drive.

Even though Zhang Yang had told Bruce who the owner of the USB drive was, he still couldn't get the password out of Davis.

"Bruce... I really don't know what to say to you!"

Zhang Yang couldn't help but laugh and cry at the same time.

But he had made a promise, and with his maxed-out Super Hacker skill, decrypting an encrypted USB drive shouldn't be a problem.

Zhang Yang replied with a short message.

"Open the window in your office and watch for the white dove flying in!"

Zhang Yang certainly wouldn't personally retrieve the USB drive.

Harrison trusted Zhang Yang's integrity completely, but Zhang Yang wouldn't trust him or Bruce.

They had nearly gone mad trying to catch him, so it was too risky for Zhang Yang to go get the USB drive himself.

After receiving Zhang Yang's reply, Bruce furrowed his brows and sat patiently in his office.

Half an hour passed, and Bruce's patience started to wear thin. He was getting impatient.

"Shit! That bastard Kaitō Kid, is he messing with us again?"

Just as he was getting frustrated, a white dove really flew into the window.

The dove wasn't scared at all and landed on the desk, looking around curiously.

Harrison immediately straightened up, exchanged a look with Bruce, and gestured for him to give the USB to the dove.

Bruce carefully took the USB from his pocket and placed it gently in front of the dove, afraid that any sudden move would scare it away.

Now, Zhang Yang was the only one who could help him decrypt the USB drive.

As soon as Bruce placed the USB down, the dove immediately grabbed the tail of the drive and flew away.

This scene left both Bruce and Harrison stunned.

They already knew that the pigeons had delivered Kaitō Kid's notes, but they never expected that Zhang Yang's pigeon could be this smart.

Not only could it deliver notes, but it could also retrieve items!

"Shit! Who the hell is Kaitō Kid?"

Seeing this with his own eyes left Bruce deeply shaken.

Not only was he a super thief, but he also had incredible magical skills and could train pigeons to be this clever and obedient!

Harrison was equally stunned, left speechless by the shock.

But what came next surprised them even more.

After receiving the USB drive, Zhang Yang cracked the encryption in just ten minutes.

Once he reviewed the contents, Zhang Yang furrowed his brows.

Davis was a gang leader, but he was also a demon.

Angels are in heaven, demons walk the earth.

The files were full of crimes committed by the Eighteenth Street gang—smuggling, fraud, arms dealing, and even human trafficking of young girls and children. There were horrific, inhumane videos, some of the most vile acts imaginable.
