Another day to "A.M.A"
Rin Setsukiba "Our adviser is super late, thirty minutes late!"
Daigo "Let's see"
Daigo puts a chalked ash on the top of the door using basic wizard magic mini float... until...
Rukawa Sensei, open the door And he was hit by the chalked ash... And he didn't even dodge it.
The whole class can't stop laughing because of Daigo's action.
Rukawa "Alright, alright, is this a punishment for being late?? Anyways this day is a valuable day because your rank all is gonna be starting to "Minarai" or so called "Neophyte" . A student arcane user, under supervision. Minarai is the role for Escort missions, patrols, Maiju scouting... anyways Heres are the top ranks across our Kingdom

Class is murmuring about that rank.
Zarred "oh I see..."
Rukawa "okay that's enough today's lesson will be Maiju's weak spot, vital organs and it's structures... Let's go to the grounds now, lined up!!
A minutes later in grounds.
The wind blows across the gravel field. A large Maiju anatomical projection—created with illusion magic—hovers above the class like a hologram. The illusion pulses with blue light, exposing twisted organs, jagged bones, and glowing veins of mana.
Rukawa Sensei (chalk dust still on his shoulder, unfazed):
"Alright you little deviants—since you're all Minarai now, it's time to stop laughing and start understanding what you're actually up against."
He waves his staff. The illusion of a hulking Maiju, reptilian with obsidian armor plating and glowing fissures, floats above the students.
Rukawa (commanding voice):
"Every Maiju is unique. Some fly, some burrow. Some manipulate flame, others bend gravity. But they all have one thing in common…"
He points his staff at a small, glowing orb hidden within the Maiju's ribcage. It shifts location, phasing to its tail, then its spine.
Rukawa:
"…The Mana Core.
The source of their power.
The key to their immortality."
---
Syji (raising a hand, serious tone):
"So if we don't destroy the Mana Core, they regenerate?"
Rukawa:
"They don't just regenerate, Syji… They resurrect. Sever a limb? Grows back. Decapitate them? They crawl forward. Burn them alive? They reform from ash.
Until the Core is shattered… they do not die."
---
Shinji (eyes narrowing, thoughtful):
"And where is the Core usually located?"
Rukawa (grim smirk):
"That's the problem.
There is no fixed location.
The Mana Core can be anywhere. In the eye. In the tail. Hidden inside another organ.
Worse still… the stronger the Maiju, the deeper the Core is buried, surrounded by false organs or even decoys."
---
The class murmurs in unease. The illusion shows Maiju regenerating violently after being cut. The projection then flashes red, showing a weak point successfully struck—resulting in the creature disintegrating into mana.
...
Kuraido (arms crossed):
"Tch… so we're guessing while it's tearing through us."
Shioj (soft-spoken, but intense):
"That's why observation is key. Patterns. Magic flow. You watch for its mana circuits. Feel it through your Arc."
Zarred (analytical, muttering to self):
"Some Maiju feed before attacking… some after. The core's energy spikes during consumption. Maybe we can track that…"
---
Shinji (clenching fist):
"If the core is the only way to kill them, then we need to learn how to see through their tricks. Even if it costs us everything."
---
Daigo (light-heartedly, trying to ease tension):
"Well, guess I'll aim for the eyeballs anyway—can't be wrong if I hit something important, right?"
Syji (deadpan):
"If we relied on your logic, Daigo, the academy would be a crater."
Rukawa (serious, steady voice):
"You're no longer just students.
You are Sorcerers in training.
The first line of defense.
When a Maiju appears, civilians run.
Soldiers fall.
And we—the Arc wielders—stand between extinction and survival.
Learn to kill. Or be consumed."
He stabs his staff into the ground. The Maiju illusion vanishes in a burst of blue sparks.
Silence. Wind brushes over the field. The students stare ahead, understanding the weight of what's to come.
Zarred (quietly):
"…We're not just fighting monsters.
We're fighting living catastrophes."
Shinji (firmly):
"Then we'll become the ones that disasters fear."
The tension in the air is heavy. The glowing projection of a dissected Maiju flickers above the class. Everyone's eyes are on the pulsing Mana Core.
Rukawa Sensei (lecturing):
"Maiju do not fear pain. They do not hesitate. They do not sleep. If you hesitate—you die.
Now—who can identify the false organ in this simulation?"
The class goes silent, until…
Soft chewing is heard. A faint crinkle of wax paper.
Rukawa's ear twitches.
Rukawa (eyes narrow, slowly turning around):
"…Setsukiba."
...
Rin Setsukiba, mid-bite, cheeks puffed with a sugar-coated donut. Powder dusts her lips. She freezes.
She slowly lowers the second donut… which she was about to bite.
Rin (mouth still full, muffled):
"Eh…? I–I was just… stabilizing my mana levels… sugar helps with focus…"
Dead silence. Everyone stares.
Then—
Shota Kizumi suddenly bursts into wild laughter, launching a mini-blast of air from his feet and hovering half a meter above his seat.
Shota:
"BWAHAHAHA! SHE BROUGHT A WHOLE BOX—INTO A LECTURE ABOUT DEATH MONSTERS!"
Rin tries to hide the donut box under her cloak, failing miserably as one rolls out and lands with a comedic bounce on the training field.
Rukawa (deadpan):
"…Donuts. During anatomical dissection. Setsukiba, do you intend to bribe the Maiju with pastries?"
Rin (still chewing, shamelessly):
"I mean… if it works, that's a new strategy."
The class erupts in a mix of suppressed laughter and groans. Shota hovers slightly off the ground from his chuckles, little jet bursts keeping him afloat like a malfunctioning drone.
Rukawa (sighs, mutters to himself):
"…They're gonna die. Every single one of them."
Rukawa waves his staff again, snapping everyone's attention back. The donut rolls are gone. The illusion of a Maiju core begins beating faster. The field dims into a cool blue glow.
Rukawa (with finality):
"Laugh while you can, Neophytes.
Out there—there is no room for mistakes. And the Maiju don't care if you're hungry."
---
Shinji (looking ahead, serious again):
"…Next time, that donut might be your last meal."
Rin (softly):
"Then I'm dying deliciously."
